Unless I'm sorely mistaken, the Taichi is meant to emulate the Hermida Zendrive, and the Zip Amp is a good version of the Xotic BBP Comp pedal, specifically. Both originals are expensive and hard to find - the build quality and tone of these Joyo pedals is pretty righteous at just about any price point. We'll have to see how they do long-term, after years of being used on stages.
Zip definitely more compressed . Taichi is a Zendrive spot on for the most part . Like them both for different reasons buy the Tauren for Klon pedal and your set for low gain grit
I like the Zip more, but I've also been curious about what I could do with a D-style overdrive, which I've never tried. I used a tube screamer for years for sustainy leads, and this could be a cool way to do the compressed, middy thing.
Honestly there is no right answer. The last drive engaged is usually the one that’s most prominent. It depends which one you want to be the dominant sound out of what you have.
What? You never touched the Zip Drive's toggle switch. That makes a HUGE difference. Center is way clean. Left is more distorted and compressed. Sorry, but the Zip runs circles around the TaiChi.
1 it's a Zen drive (Dumble tones)
2 it's a Bb preamp (Blues Breaker amp)
Both sound great. You cannot lose with either one.

Two fantastic drives! Thanks for sharing
Thank you! 🙌🏽
I like the way the zip sounds more .
Bro yes I'm so glad you made this video
Glad it’s helpful! ✌🏽
I think the BB Preamp is supposed to be a Bluesbreaker variant btw.
That’s what I hear among other things. It doesn’t sound like one to me tbh. But it def doesn’t sound like a TS or a klone either.
Joyo makes some killer stuff for the price. I think the Taichi sounds a little more musical to my ear.

I like the Zip more as a base sound and in general. But a D style does sound really good for second stage leads.
@@aaronjlivecchi this is exactly how I use my BB Preamp stacked with my Zendrive II.
loving the Taichi, getting also the Zippy!
I wonder how different single coils would be in this test?
Great video and sound comparison of these two effects. Great job on the video. Beautiful playing! NEW SUB! Cheers!
Appreciate the kind words and sub! Thanks!
@@aaronjlivecchi Cheers!
Just got the Zip. The TaiChi, though good, was a bit compressed for me.
Tai Chi all day. The zip is silly shrilly..
The zip sounds horrible to me...too shrill
you guys wear penny loafers

Not since junior high, sorry.
Hello, where would you put this in the signal chain? before the other overdrives?
Honestly there is no right answer. The last drive engaged is usually the one that’s most prominent. It depends which one you want to be the dominant sound out of what you have.
@@aaronjlivecchi Ok, thanks for the reply! I just ordered this. At the moment, I have the Taichi to tauren in the signal chain.
Yea just try different things. I recommend if you stack them. Start with the gain dialed back and slowly add to taste.
Zip Amp ❤
How about the zip vs the Tauren? Anyone have feedback?
Depends. Very diff sounding. What are you looking for

He does, at 4:08
Zip for me and my style. The T is dull and not what I want .
Suaranya sama saja.. tidak ada bedanya..
Taichi = Zendrive = Dumble
Zip = Prince of Tone = Marshal Bluesbreaker
