Too true man! Too much going on with the internet nowadays that it's easy to focus time on ourselves and remember why we started doing things in the first place!
has anybody ever stopped to think about how awful it is to chase trends and numbers? It's creative cancer period. Going to watch the doc because that looks like a compelling story.
With so many videos on RUclips telling creators that if we want to be successful on this platform, figure out what people want to see and just cater to that, it's nice to see someone saying to create for yourself. Thank you.
"This is nice and all but why didn't you eat the sandwich??" Dude your videos are like a magnet... Inspirational Helping us take a look at the world in a different angle Making those micro daily shifts Living with purpose And most of "what do I want to create" 😎
Wow I really needed to hear that. I have been questioning my life purpose as a digital creator and have been called to simply disconnect and readjust myself before showing up again. Thank you
Thanks, Sam. I stumbled upon this just as I was having a hard time deciding the direction I wanted to take a a video I recently shot in Colombia. You're right... I'm going to make the video I want to make. If you're original enough, your videos will become the videos they want to see too. 😊
Thanks Sam. For the past couple of years, I’ve been feeling unsatisfied with what I’ve been making. I think it’s because I’ve been in this “What do they want to see?” mindset instead of “What do I want to make?”. I need to change that. Thanks so much for the reminder. Much appreciated. ❤️
Well this came just at the right time for me. I set up my production company after I finished my degree in the summer and I've been taking that seriously trying to focus on making money and move out of my parents house. I want to be a film director and I've been so focused on making a living that I've made myself really miserable. Just before watching this video I drafted the first short film concept since setting up my business. In your video, seeing the power of film and how it has the capacity to bring so many people together really inspired me and has ignited that drive to make something I'm proud of and will want to share with a big room full of people. Thank you for sharing this story.
I dont know why man but this video hit me so hard and made me cry. Thenk you for sharing this awesome story and also your insight as a content creator. I deeply appreciate it as a fellow filmmaker. Stay healthy. Big Thanks man.
Hey Sam… I want to say when I watch your videos especially the ones like this, I get so inspired man. You have a lot of wisdom. Im 22 and as someone who is trying to find his way into the entrepreneur world, your videos give me a lot of hope that I’ll get there one day. I want you to know that you’ve changed a life and I can’t be the only one that your videos have touched.
2:30 and my eyes got full of tears. This is it, this is what filmmaking is and what it is for! Some day in the near future i will be so touched by one of my films as i were watching this video. Thanks sam for keeping it simple but so meaningfull.
So excited to go back to editing my filmmaking story! Hopefully it will be done before the end of the year. And what a great story about Jack... Truly inspiring
Wow! I found you because of Creator Circuit. I just saw this vid and it hit me! so true!!! Thank you for sharing this. Gave me such an inspiration and a fresh breeze of positivity! thank you really!
I developed ME/CFS after getting covid. And it's weird how much my life has changed. What I cared about has radically changed. While I do want to be 100% healthy again. I think emotionally, I'm in the best place I've ever been. We really overcomplicate things and put way too much pressure on ourselves. Remember, we got into this field to be happy :)
The way I needed to see this video and remember that as much as other people like seeing certain content from me, I’ve got to create things for myself 🙌🏽
Man, this came so in the right moment! I've given up a lot to be able to create, I didn't go to college, I had to face so much criticism from so many people... I've been watching your videos since a long, long time, and I love the direction in which this channel is going. Thanks for inspiring all of us, man! 🥳
As always, you never fails to inspire people especially me😂, exactly what I'm going through for some time now!! Starting from myself being introvert, lack of speaking skills, no decent equipment, doubting myself, struggling to understand how it all works, the market, the geographical disadvantage, the technology disadvantage but one thing seems clear after watching this video "make content for myself" something I will be proud of, I will try my best to keep reminding this for the rest of my life.
“This is nice and all but why didn’t you eat the sandwich??” Great video, thanks for sharing Jack’s story. Keep up the great work, Sam, it’s definitely helping some of us to take that next step. 🤗
“This is nice and all but why didn’t you eat the sandwich?” Once upon a time I fancied myself a creator…. I posted the occasional vlog or family video and I’ve made some cool montages. It’s been well over 2 years since I posted or made anything. For what it’s worth your content truly inspirational Sam. Thanks for being you. ✌️
I will soon lose my job (unluckily had to quit for personal reason) but your video quite motivate me, i love making car videos and this is what i wanna do in life and i think stepping back to better leap forward is something that we should consider in life
Thinking about what others what to see vs. what you want to make is the biggest takeaway in this video. Great vid as usual Sam "not the Kolder one" Newton! Cheers!
Bro, great video and great message. I am with you on that, when did we start to ask whats most important to others instead of what we like and love ? appreciate it mate and stay creamy :)
"This is nice and all but why didn’t you eat the sandwich" Inspirational story, and a key message for me was: "What do I want to make" vs "What do they want to see" I think I have been chasing the wrong path for sure.... Great video, new sub here.
Hey Sam. I would just like to say, I enjoy your content. But I didn`t create my channel to make money or have a thousand subscribers, I created my channel to store memories for myself and to show the inevitable viewers the bike I ride and the roads I travel, while bringing my passions together ~ Motorcycles, photography and beautiful scenery. Thanks to you and the likes of Peter Mckinnon also Uk`s James Popsys I have learned a lot about editing photographs. I may not be as young, good looking or as entertaining as you guys... I forgot where I was going with this :/ All I know is I like Motorcycles and photography. Keep up the good work. Best wishes, from the Lone Wolf in the lakes.
I mean, this makes total sense. The thing is, I don't know what I want to make either... :/ I guess that's where collaboration comes in, to help others make their stuff to find my stuff.
Great video as always! About that medical bill, did you pay your airfare/trip with a CC? If so, it might have a provision that includes medical insurance while abroad. Worth looking into 🤷🏻♂
Beautiful. Amazing video Sam. Appreciate you. 👊🏼💯
Too true man! Too much going on with the internet nowadays that it's easy to focus time on ourselves and remember why we started doing things in the first place!
OK, heading over to the documentary. Nothing like a good inspiration story, love. it.
has anybody ever stopped to think about how awful it is to chase trends and numbers? It's creative cancer period. Going to watch the doc because that looks like a compelling story.
The world needs more Sam Newtons. No ego, only pure spirit. Stay creamy ❤️

THIS!! ugh Sam you've done it again, thank you for being you.🤍
This is great. It shows that the best thing to do when you don’t know what to create is to reach out and help tell someone else’s story.
I dont know why man but this video hit me so hard and made me cry. Thenk you for sharing this awesome story and also your insight as a content creator. I deeply appreciate it as a fellow filmmaker. Stay healthy. Big Thanks man.

Sam. thanks for this video. I needed to hear that. I've felt lost this past year.
It's stories like this that make me get out and keep creating despite what's going on in the world.
The way I needed to see this video and remember that as much as other people like seeing certain content from me, I’ve got to create things for myself 🙌🏽
