    Some incredible lap times you’ve got. My fasted was a 73 I think

    Also noteworthy, minimum GPS speed around the lap is 30mph

    Nice Driving!!!
    Can't wait to get on one of these...
    Just a question, do you think that using a little tail brake would have helped your exits? It seemed to have too much wheel spin coming off the corner. Or would braking earlier been a better option?

      Magnum - these were rentals, so not how I’d have it setup. Possibly braking earlier/easier to better transition from going straight to cornering may have been faster to keep minimum speed higher. These are very fast and high accel, and the higher the rpm the quicker.
      I’m sure with practice and tuning time there are a lot of tricks to pull down lap times.

    Are these the same karts they use in the driving school there?

    • @ckrampertracing
      @ckrampertracing  4 года назад

      Drew McCafferty yes. We ran LO206 karts first then they let a few of us in these.

      Drew McCafferty cool. It’s a great track. Video doesn’t do it justice.

      Drew McCafferty just did the karting school a few weeks ago and it’s so worth it to experience those karts. The LO206 felt incredibly fast until we got in these and there was no going back

    Nice driving out there. This track is more fun using that TaG kart around track. Do you think the 1B karting school was worth the cost for hot laps in a faster kart? I did a similar course at another facility that also used TaG karts and some instruction and learned a few things on track.

      LONE WOLF 1 - It was worth it for me to be able to drive the tag karts on a clear track since they’re expensive to operate. But the “racing school” aspect definitely needed some help.

      I see. The driving school I completed was a one-on-one session versus a multi-person session where instructor attention was divided. Does this facility offer those TaG karts for rental to those that have either completed the driving school course or meet a certain time/experience requirement in their normal 12 hp RT8 karts?

      I think they one on one, but it's pretty expensive.

      I need to call their facility to find out. By the way, have you participated in their endurance events at AMP? They look fun to do and with their new fleet of karts, racing may be more equal (stated by drivers with previous complainants during the last event).

      Yes we just did the 10 hour enduro in October 2017. It was good and we'll prob do more enduros there this year. The karts seemed equal enough, plus with 12 required kart swaps over 10 hours, you get a good sampling We didn't notice a drastic variance in our experience. The only thing that wasn't good was the penalties. They gave us two separate two lap penalties for a tiny (6-8") slide when we entered the pit entry stop box (it's prior to pit lane where you stop, then proceed into pit lane for your driver change). I think they didn't intend to make the penalty that harsh. It cost us 4th place and a possible podium finish. :/ It was still a blast.
      We'll be racing in the 24 hours of America in February. Apex Addicts is our team name. It'll be on Race Monitor / My laps if you want to follow along.
