fun fact the manga ends with yusuke literally saving the world from spirit world terrorists (don't ask) by picking keiko's favorite color because he has to choose randomly between 3 buttons with 3 colors 2 of which will end the world and he chooses the right one..keiko is the mvp of the story..flat out..their live saved the story and his life
legit..unlike other bromances anime fans ship, which are not real this friendship is like legit cory and shawn from boy meets world levels of gay....i always remember kuwabara saying if you're doing this then so am i too and yusuke saying don't get too excited its embarrassing in a few episodes from now at genkai's...theres nothing wrong with guys needing each other
this is a great episode...it abridges/skips what takes like 14 chapters to get through in the manga..what a waste of time all those stories were about yusuke helping people as a ghost...after episode 3 we got it...we did not need all those..1 is enough
yusuke's mom is more focused on in the manga and we find out she had him at age 14 and she is single so it makes sense why she drinks....he does not make it easy on her.... but sadly the the anime drops her pretty early on in favor of focusing more on kuzuma's sister shizruru who looks similar in design and is more connected to the spirit stuff...i agree with this choice but i miss her comedy...shes funny af
so yusuke owed kuwabara for saving keiko in episode 3 and being spiritually aware enough in episode 2 to handle yusuke's spirit and not telling the police in episode 4 despite keiko seeming crazy saving a dead body and he also has to get involved for the plot so that why he helped with the cat plus he owes koenma now for saving his life and he sorta owes keiko too..so he will be the detective to give his poor life meaning and earn his keep....as for keiko thats another story..
They said her mom was overworked and had exhaustion. So she wasn't going to die but to a young girl of course they will stay by their parents side. Kuwabara should have kissed him. Also remember this came out in 92, so It's interesting to see how cultural norms have changed in the 25 years
in the manga it takes way longer for him to come back so the anime said screw that and skipped some ordeals thankfully...thats like 8 more chapters...fuk that shit
while this show is still sorta slice of life this far...i will be shocked if she still is into it once it really gets into the action starting next episode and especially the next arc after that and onwards.....this show is totally made for male sensibilities not females I feel...just being honest...its a pretty sexist show ..the women's tastes are after thoughts think the male version of sailor moon a show made for girls that guys would get bored of fast...

congrats on embarking on this classic. really charming character work and the dub is really well written and natural.
