I am Khmer from Takeo Province. I don’t understand why are Khmer’s people still worshipping humans or statues made by men from concrete? God is spirit and he is everywhere. Use your brain people because you are smart enough to know better.
You don’t understand because you haven’t tried enough to understand them. They certainly know that the statues represent Buddha who used to be human and alive. The statues have existed since soon after the Buddha’s death, so they knew what Buddha looked like! Same, people can draw Jesus’s pictures and statues because he was a human. But “above-God” that Christians or Muslims claim existence has no picture or statue because he’s just imaginary God. Well, by the way, Buddha never claimed to be God or prophet. But according to his teachings about the universe, Gods are those who used to be humans doing a lot of good deeds. Cycle of transformation is there for human spirits between hell, earth and heaven. You do good, and you can also become a God in the after-life. Believe it or not, it’s just up to each individual!
@@lamunsoleil2609 I tried to understand by being a monk myself in my home town about 15 years ago in Takeo. In the evening about six monks sitting together around looking at Thai’s girls in swimsuits. Are you telling me Buddha statues is lifeless that creating everything around you? Are you telling me those people from the past intellectual are able to design cell phones or airplane without any research? My point is do your own research with your intelligence on earth figures out the real god don’t trust anyone but yourself. My ancestors from thousands of years in Cambodia are farmers and I can be a farmer as well but I studied to be an Electrical Engineer from University of Illinois at Chicago and the last 20 years I owned hotel and apartment complex in Texas and Chicago. Your family’s soul are extremely important once they leave this world to go to our real home. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH.
