Little bit of topic, but curious how you got your top cover screws loose? Mine are so tight I am going to strip them -- did you use a special screw driver?

I used a good driver.. Use an old bit and tap the screws with a toffee hammer

Why would you need a pan adapter on a 7300 with it's built in spectrum scope? I'd like to see a demo that answers my question

Well there’s a demo with a ts590 that uses the same kit on ML&s.tv as for why, just because probably but some get a lot of use out of it :-)) gaz

@@TheGazLab I watched a demo after watching your video and other than giving you another toy I see no use for it. I have the spectrum scope in the radio :)

@@johninjersey well there are some users who need the bigger display.. customers often use SDR and omni rig because of sight issues.. in fact we have a lot of customers in that exact situation.. they use some kind of screen reader to help with text..

@@TheGazLab I wish the 7300 was two or three time as big. Don't know why they made it so small as if it is intended to be a mobile rig...
and the 13 pin ACC connector instead of separate connections.... :(

@@johninjersey Wholeheartedly agree ! Minuterization seems to be the thing every so often, other manufacturers followed suit shortly after the 7300 was launched.

Thanks for this very good instructional video.
I have the same setup as you have. I’m using the SRDPlay 1A and SDRuno software.
Everything works fine except when I transmit and that seems to over load the display and the radios operation.
    Any suggestions?

I'm the same and a bit of a newbie to sdr etc, all the emphasis is always on the receiving side on these videos and not much info on the transmit side where you risk smoking yout RSplay.
I'm going down the RX protection way and have purchased the MFJ 1708B-SDR T/R switch.
I know now that this is the expensive method as allegedly there is a software prog that mutes the RX on transmit rather than the mechanical relay of the MFJ box with RF senseing.
I think it's called Win4Icom but haven't tried it yet but you most certainly need some sort of isolation of the RX during TX.
