Am 8 mins through and I'm getting slight echoes of Elfen Lied, with the intro, and the artwork on the eyes is very similar. But this must pre-date Elfen Lied by at least a decade.
Though I enjoyed the video game on PS1 as a kid, I must admit the anime is very disappointing, everything is rushed, undevelopped. How do you expect to introduce over ten characters in just two episodes? This had so much potential, it should've been an anime series and not just an OVA, pretty sure it would've been much better and more pleasant to watch this with many episodes in which we would've actually time to see battles, true and deep story-telling and constant characters' evolution.
Yeah, the OVA is total dumpster fire, but can't expect them to cram everything in 2 episodes, especially it's only a mean to promote their game. I haven't played the first installment, but I do enjoy the 2nd one. I'd love to see the game ret-, oh, wait, Taito was merged into Square Enix back in 2010 ... well ... fuck me, I guess Edit: is it just me or the whole plot is similar to X-Men?

one of the worst video game animated shows of all time next to Art of fighter,Night warriors & SF II & SF alpha are all terrible. the only good ones Fatal Fury & Virtua Fighter They focus on the characters and stories also better sense of plot than Capcom and taito's failed attempt.
Maybe it's a guity pleasure as I grew up on the game, but I love the anime of SF 2......Chun-Li fighting in her underwear!! I'm am man of simple pleasures.
