Hot Pink is absolutely THE MOST UNDERRATED BASS FISHING COLOR!!! With Morning Dawn kicking so much butt, I'm not sure why more anglers aren't more aware of HOW AWESOME HOT PINK IS!!!
Wow, it's been a good while for a local lures episode. These are always fun! Your nephew's lures are really cool looking! I've seen somebody do a plopper-style bait on a 3D printer, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if that was the future of bait making. And I've actually take to rigging a Berkely PowerStinger on the 3/64 oz hover rig and, well, it's catching fish (just like pretty much everything on the hover rig!).
Thanks So Much , Matt for doing this Video on Locally Made Lures !!! There are MANY OUTSTANDING SMALL LURE MAKERS in this country who produce High Quality, Well Made Baits that Really Excell on the local area lakes around them and also work well in other parts of the country too !! Please let us know How Well your Nephew's 3D Printed Baits work out when you have the opportunity to Test them out !!
Local made lures are almost always higher in quality, provide the most value while still being affordable, proven designs and patterns, and proudly made in the USA!
That Buzzbait sure has my attention and I am definitely going to go check them out, one of my fav baits for sure!!! What your Nephew is doing has peaked my interest, I think he might be on to something with his printer, maybe part of the Core Tackle Co… we shall see!!!
This video reminded me of a local bait shop in Shasta Lake, Ca. Called Phil’s Propeller. They’re a prop shop mainly. They sell a local jig with live rubber that’s a killer on the Shasta spotted bass. You were looking for some different jigs a couple weeks ago. What I remember about those jigs is they had a unique head shape, almost like a small flat cross. A local old timer turned me on to them and stated he liked them because he could reel them across the bottom. It’s been years since I have been there but I know that jig was a mainstay on Shasta and Orville.
I stopped in for some crappie minnows at my LBS and I always look at what he's got. I FINALLY found some tail spin lures that run true and spin that weren't $$$$. Next time I'm in I'll be getting some soft plastics he carries from another maker. Great video and a great reminder to always look around for the local baits.
I always ck out local bait shops, In New York by Black Lake. I found soft plastic crayfish with a SUPER garlicy sent. You could NOT touch then with bare hands. They caught them. Thanks Matt
For a degenerate tackle junky like myself, this video was HEAVEN. Thank you! And that's so cool what your cousin Jack is doing. These kid's are going to do some amazing innovative things with lures IMO.
I can definitely see a future where anglers buy their lures as 3D-print kits, where you get the design file, plastic filaments, and other components which you can then print yourself, or modify the design yourself and then print.
Matt - imagine being at an expo and offering those 3d printed lures for sale and selling out or even an angler at a tourney that had a lure that was "close" to working... You go back to your computer, print them off or make an adjustment... That is really awesome!
Matt Stefan Fishing Greenfish is actually in Grovetown Georgia and is very local. Great guy that runs and owns it. You should have bought some, you wouldn’t be disappointed.
Nephew Jack sounds like he's onto something. Kinda crazy thinking about downloading files and printing my own baits to your own colors and sizes. Pretty trippy stuff 🤯
Great video! Clark Hill is my home lake, but I wasn't aware of these companies. I do love a nice squeaky buzzbait so I'm going to add a few of these to my collection.
Hi Matt, I like the local bait vids and look forward to seeing more. It also supports the local guys who make stuff which is good. For a future video idea, any chance you could make a video on how you approach muddy water or windy days? I usually just take the kayak out to a lake in calm days and never fish after a rain, but would like to try and fish the muddy and windy days this year. Spring brings a lot of rain and fluctuating pressures and I don't want to stay home just b/c the lake is muddy. thanks!
Lionel makes awesome Buzz baits, Spinner baits, and Jigs. His shop is at his house you can go in place an order and he ties your baits while you watch. A secret little spot for sure! Im pretty sure you got yours at Ridge rd right down from Wildwood. I hope you got a burger there its one of my stops almost every weekend when Im leaving the Hill.
The MOAB buzzbait is made down the road from me. It's not something stores would have in stock, but they work and they are loud as heck. Great nighttime lure.
In the 90s I fished club tournaments and the running joke was always the bubble gum buzz bait when guys didn't want to say what bait they were throwing. 😎✌️
Excited to see a vid hopefully with the bait hooked up to a hover. That could definitely be a killer. Gonna be trying a Ned/ Zman with the hover as soon as the ice finally melts.
My father in law bought a 3d printer for work. He's been playing with it. The material costs to make plastic or polymer items is extremely inexspemsive! That stuff u have probably cost less than 25 cents. It's getting the printer is what's is very expensive. Then u have find CAD software or draw the item up yourself. The 3d printers are super cool
Were you on SC side or GA side? I know on SC side has the herring hut, but it's mostly live bait. That's where all striper guys go for herring & gizzard shad. They go out catch all bait off the lake at night, then sell it. They had multiple massive tanks for all different sizes. They don't have a lot of tackle. I've only been down here year n half. I haven't stopped to many small bait shops myself. I head straight to my fishing areas, or explore new launch locations
Wow what a buzz bait if that thing work you'll definitely need to let us know. As for the y notes plastics I think that would be a killer on your hoover rig and in other colors
Dynamite video Matt! I was killing them yesterday on a buzz bait. I need up snapping off my Jamaica boa and only thing I had left on me as a cheap ass strike king buzzer in blue and chanteuse and it ended up catching 6 bass in about 1 hr. Lol I guess this time of year in south west Florida they will eat everything and anything.
Lionel Hollingsworth and Why-not have been making quality baits around the Hill for around 30 years. If you can't get them, let me know , I'll send send them to you. You are right, not a decent tackle shop around the Hill or Augusta. An avid derby fisherman just opened one this past Friday, Hadden's. About a 1/4 mile from the entrance to Wildwood Park. 9.38 won the Big Bass trail this past weekend, he won a New Nitro. If my 2.58 would have just weighed 7 more pounds.😂
There is a few guys 3d printing swimbaits seen them on swimbait universe a few times its def interesting and those resin printers really can print some nice stuff. A lot of these smaller garage swimbait guys get there molds 3d resin printed to refine them but. I'm sure those resin molds would work as well.
Hey Matt sometime you want to see some good plastic baits River Rock fishing lures made in Waynesboro Virginia he has a wide variety of products let me know what you think thanks
I’ve had an order with them for 3 months now and can’t seem to get him to fulfill the order. I’ve talked to him numerous times and keep being told “They are going out next week.”
Printing lures is not viable unless you want specifics. It's just not the machine that is time consuming. The design process is harder than you'd think unless you already have a copy of the file. Then you'd have to seal the lures by hand...only way is by epoxy or top coat. Why? B/C you need internal chambers for weights. Therefore, it cannot be the future. It's like saying doing Marlin Baits crafting is the future. Yes, and no on that. Like anyone can build them, do they have the tools, creativity, and or skills?
I grew up with Ynot (Tony), probably 30 years ago we caught blue backs, small bluegills, shiners and several lizards and he handmade single molds for the originals. I even drew his original label.
Hot Pink is absolutely THE MOST UNDERRATED BASS FISHING COLOR!!! With Morning Dawn kicking so much butt, I'm not sure why more anglers aren't more aware of HOW AWESOME HOT PINK IS!!!
agreed!
Hand tie most of my flys! When not fishing. Nothing feels better than fooling a fish with a piece of your artwork!
agreed!

Matt, your nephew is a lucky kid. It must be great for you knowing he is also making you proud.
im super proud of him!
Pink buzzbait is way too cool! 3d printed lures will be a game changer. Glad to see some small companies getting love.

@@MattStefanFishing Keep us posted sir, I'm excited to see how huge this becomes!
Matt Stefan Fishing Greenfish is actually in Grovetown Georgia and is very local. Great guy that runs and owns it. You should have bought some, you wouldn’t be disappointed.
they are great baits. I just meant they are to big to be on local lures now that they are a national brand
Nephew Jack sounds like he's onto something. Kinda crazy thinking about downloading files and printing my own baits to your own colors and sizes. Pretty trippy stuff 🤯

will do. If you search Local Lures on my channel you will find several more episodes
With all that tackle hanging behind you, your wife must really love you! lol..all kidding aside I really like the local tackle video's.
You got that right!
As good as the methiolate floating worm works, a buzz bait that color might be a killer.
i cant wait to use it!

interesting
I guess I'll try to contact them tomorrow because they don't show this all pink buzz bait at all on the web site.
im sure if you contact them they can make it
Great video Matt. Lionel at Tru Trac Lures is a great guy. Also, it’s Grovetown, not Groverton. 😄Take care!

Extremely new to fishing, got a minnow lure you think I’d catch something in Clark’s hill on a summer day partly cloudy?
Keitech switched by impact fat swimbait
Used a minnow lure today pretty small. Water was pretty clear and had a gar tried snappin it couple times but none successful

I just bought some pink frogs, but the only place I can find a pink swim jig is 911 Custom Lures unless a yone knows another place
interesting
Hello Matt, I have been making baits for the last 15 yrs and was wondering what's the best way to send you a few to try?
