I am a GHS band member that performed from 1993 - 1997; and I will never forget the chills and pride I felt when performing our traditional "warm up", called "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", prior to each and every performance. Anyone who knows the Woodmens' history can tell you that this warm-up tradition came from a State Fair winning contest from the '70's. What a better way to celebrate the tradition of 'over the rainbow' with a performance like this! I had the same chills throughout!!!!
I LOVE this show. Can't stop watching. Such a controlled performance. This is what marching band should look like. It's about the music and the marching and not about "bells and whistles and gimmicks."
Oh my gosh. That was amazing and moving. It gave me chills. I felt honored to play the warm up before the 2008 show. I miss being a Woodmen so much. It just wouldn't have felt right without Mr. Sutton though.
Ok, after just over a year on youtube, and nearly 2,400 views, I finally replaced my originally-posted video of this performance with this "High Quality" video. I saved the comments from the other video, and they're copied and pasted below. I hope everyone enjoys this new video as much as they enjoyed the other one. :)
Thanks for your comment, MrMcMusic, and that's a pretty cool youtube page you've got. Nice work! I hope everyone who sees this checks out your page. They'll probably want to get involved in Micro Marching too.
chocobunny257 (5 months ago) ugh i wish i lived in greenwood just for their marching band. D:
Xsomniphobia (7 months ago) I'm from Greenwood and I agree that compared to the year before, the transitions between pieces could have been better but it was a very fun show to perform

I'm addicted to this show. And everytime it ends with all of that color, I get goose bumps. Brilliant!
