@@mintran5332 it's all about what you prioritize in entertainment and how understanding you are of reality tv. things are edited, done for the cameras, etc. everyone can have their opinions on what's presented to them, but those whose opinions are worth listening to are the ones who know that what is being presented is a persona of some kind. there are things you don't know about people and the situation. like how everyone got on kandy for being too hostile towards elliot until they found out he was making racist and transphobic comments behind the scenes, and that's why she said what she did in the way she did. you can only work with what they give us, and 90% of the time that is edited, twisted, dramatized, provoked, the whole nine yards. you can dislike whoever you want, but the mass hate people spew based on a personal opinion of someone they've never met, encountered and have only seen through a reality tv show known for giving people villain edits is simply astonishing.
Truthfully, at first I didn’t like her but once you realize that TV is just TV, then she becomes more likable. Plus, the camera doesn’t show everything abt a person 👀 she must’ve been nicer than we saw cuz all the queens on the show loved her.
i hate that’s what was going through kandy’s head during the final lip sync. i was team symone, but hearing kandy say “i didn’t want to get as close to winning as possible because of backlash” broke me. i’m glad that she’s finding success and that she’s prospering after her season.
I was fine with her winning it would’ve had all these so cald drag race fans mad and she deserved it as well
Thank you, that made me sad when she said that. I was a fan of hers before she was on the show, so I knew she was a sweetheart too, yeah she speaks her mind, but not many drag queens DONT speak their minds lol I'm glad she made top 2 though.

As a drag queen, sure, there's plenty that people can like, and she proved her lip sync skills.
But just because ru paul liked her is the only reason she made it all the way to the finale, as what she showed in the competition was kinda... not great, especially compared to the other 3.

@@rystja Yes but it’s been said time and time again that producers are over their shoulders asking them prompting questions to get queens to discuss more traumatic situations in their lives. It’s not the tea that every season a queen ends up crying during makeup talking about a vulnerable moment where their parents didn’t accept them, they were bullied in school etc. And then that causes some kind of group hug where they que the shot of confessionals where other queens say “I’m so proud of her and I really feel like she’s opening up to us. I can finally understand where that hard exterior is coming from and I’m glad to see a more vulnerable side to them.”
Like please. Being gay, flamboyant, an entertainer in general of that field most of those queens in the werk room have gone through similar situations of not being accepted, homophobia, hate, ignorance and violence. But it’s the fact that it’s obviously scripted in the most unnecessary way that sometimes looses the magic for me.
Trixie’s videos show even with just two queens the kiki sessions are amazing! Just letting them naturally talk and discuss brings out funny topics and moments. I can only imagine the hilarious footage of 14 queens that’s being overshadowed for the over produced, over done script set up. 😩

It truly hurt my heart to hear Kandy say that she didn't want any chance of winning because she was afraid of the fan backlash. It is so repugnant that the fans treat the queens this way, grow up people, do better. I wish people could of been fans of Kandy like I was before she was on RPDR. I love Aja so I found Kandy through her, and fell in love with her personality, she can be blunt, yes, but she can be an absolute sweetheart too. And her painting skills are phenomenal 😍

Regardless of how she acted she wasn’t malicious or mean and didn’t deserve to be sent hate for simply creating entertainment for a show.
