I'm completely stunned that he played for seven hours without even a _trickle_ of automation on reinforced plates. I would lose it doing all that handcrafting, even with a macro. 😅

Playing for the first time (3.5 hrs on save) and so far reinforced plates haven't been that bad but I'm about to start the space elevator stuff and so I just need to redesign my factory to automate them
@@dudekazoo Reinforced plates I definitely automate nearly as soon as possible, but I definitely use a decent amount of handcrafting and/or finding things at crash sites to unlock tiers and research stuff in the MAM. The transition out of Phase 3 in particular is kind of awkward to automate, both because of power concerns and because you're actively unlocking things that will make you want to tear down and redo the factories you just put up.
@@Mystic-Midnight Actually, of all the parts in the game, space elevator parts are the ones that I'd most recommend half-automating; you can just put up an assembler or manufacturer and feed it with storage containers. This is pretty reasonable through phase 3, by phase 4 you'll probably want to automate it all.
