Good work Jim, I’m glad G Shock is listening to you. I have commented before about how I like my AE1500 and wished they would make G Shock version. Maybe the GD010 is it. I look forward to your review.
@AlexMcKinley-us9kc I received my GD 010 last Thursday. I've been wearing mine for almost a week now. In my opinion it is a G Shock version of the AE 1500.
I like how they implemented bluetooth on the GAB2100. Just auto time sync and some watch settings. No health stuff nor phone notifications. I'm kinda biased to having bluetooth as we don't get multiband 6 signals in my region.
Just ordered the GS-010-1JF and reading the manual it looks like it will have multi timezone switching so you can quickly swap home city time If so, this will take the place of my DW291. Thanks for the video.
I just saw this on Casio Fan Magazine and I am loving both of them. I am forgoing a purchase of a g shock square with Bluetooth in anticipation of their availability.
I live in southeast Asia and we have a poor MB6 reception here. Time adjustments via bluetooth is a good alternative. I also like adjusting timers and alarms with the app because the buttons are hard to press.
I want one. I have had many g shocks over 30 years and agree that they needed larger displays and digits. I now have two pro treks and recently stumbled upon the AE 1500 and parked my pro treks. I have the negative display and absolutely love it. Elegance in simplicity and clear display. I would like to see this as a g shock and add solar, atomic. That would be my perfect watch. Like your videos and share many opinions on watches, I worked on motorcycles for 25+ years and g shock has been my work watch choice. I'm looking forward to the new ones coming. Thanks for good casio info.
I generally agree on negative displays. EXCEPT for the GD-350. I own the negative/black and the two tone/gray and even in very dimm light, the positive display is barely any more visible than the negative version. That said, I definitely need the teal and the orange ones, depending on what reviewers say about the negative display.
Yea, it's weird some of their watches pull of the negative display well, others don't. It looks like this one should do well since the digits themselves are thick.
Greg Anderson is a lot like me in that he likes tough solar/MB6 equipped G-shocks. The battery models are ok but require battery changes. I like the solar MB^ model much better.
I know you don't like bluetooth connected gshocks, but as a world traveller who doesn't want to wear his Rolex GMT Master to certain cities/countries because I value keeping my arms in one piece, I much prefer bluetooth connected gshocks for many reasons but for one reason in particular. You get to pick from 300 cities in the bluetooth connected app not the crappy 38 or whatever that Casio includes with all it's gshocks as standard. There is no city in any of these lists that is Central Africa Time (UTC+2 with no DST), a time zone I travel to often. I get tired of having to pick a UTC+2 city in the list (all of which are DST cities) and turn off DST. With the app, the exact city I want is actually listed, and the watch shows the actual name of the city. And DST is set correctly. Done and done. And thanks for your vids please keep it up!
G-shock with 10 years battery. Good! I just wonder about the backside. The new Mudman 9500 has only ca 35mm flat backside which is great compared to ca 55mm of Rangeman 9400. I would like to know how long flat backside these new models have. It says a lot about how well the watch embraces the wrist. Important for those with thinner wrists.
All those issues you have with Bluetooth... Are second nature to alot of people 30 and under, maybe 40 too. I have two Casio watches without either Bluetooth or Multi Band 6, I won't have another. I now will have at least one or the other "signals".. I'm 70 years old btw.
First of all, a watch is a time measuring tool, bluetooth has nothing to do there. If it's there, it should be made like for example metal square, atomic solar bluetooth, that's good module, without any possible chance to watch ''asking'' the phone to connect with it without any reason....and absolutely with the airplane mode available. Giant numbers means nothing, but a clarity, a quality of the screen means a lot....my DW5200C is about 41 years older than any of those new Casios, there's no STN or MIP, that didn't been invented at the time, and a legibility is perfect, no doubt about that. That GA010 doesn't looks bad to me, maybe I wouldn't include a million of small screens at the dial, that one at the bottom is more than enough, like a ProTrek.....and I would like to see a comeback of the good old perfect 22 mm springbars......without the giant screws, that's not the tractor, that's a watch, a weight without any reason at the wrist isn't something pleasant. A hands at that watch could be bright yellow or red, green, whatever, with a lot of lume. That digital one isn't bad, that ring around the screen is a joke, that doesn't have to be there at all....like there's no enough words and letters at the watch and now they have to put 10-20 more? 😀...a huge numbers, but a microscopic something at the bottom of the screen? what a joke...those seconds couldn't be together with the hour and a minute? I got no idea what ''a beater watch'' means, I'm not beating my watches....if I want to beat something, I'll take my hammer and I'll beat all day long. There's only one King (the Elephant), that's the positive solar atomic JDM, that's the only Elephant. I don't know about a new carbon core Casios, but for me personally a SS inner case will always be a best possible option ever. I believe I'll skip Casios from this decade, except maybe from black titanium square ( I didn't skip the DW5040 off course). I'm expecting to see a huge yellow dildo to pop up like a possible win at the Casio page, that's the only thing it's missing.
Giant numbers mean EVERYTHING to people like me in their 50's. IT is the primary consideration. I want day date visible and readable, id like an MIP display with solar. Thats the watch Id prefer.
@@JimKinkade Really? A plastic is harder than a steel? Never heard...so why every SS case produced 40 years ago survived to this day, not just G but even in the non G Casios? That was just a luck? Or that was a durability of stainless steel? SS case is not just more shock resistant than almost anything else, but almost 100% rustproof, it's not magnetic resistant but the module can be (with the right materials inside), and it's time-resistant....with a right maintenance (cleaning) it's going to last forever, just the opposite of plastic case. It's chemical-resistant. There's more off course but I'm too old, I can't remember anymore 😀 Shock-proofness in the G is not only a case, it's bezel, a case, a floating module, buttons, everything works together in order to ensure triple 10.
I think orange is a sporty color and it looks cool on men whether it's a watch, hoodie or sneakers. Why blame an orange watch. It's not feminine in any way. What's your opinion about this Jim??? Why wear black watches your whole life?
Nice scoop. I’m liking the GD-010.
Completely agree, looking forward to finding the GD010 instore

@@user-kyle693 thank you, I’ve ordered one, I’m just waiting for it to arrive.
@@AlexMcKinley-us9kc You definitely won't be disappointed.

Yea, if you don't have MB6 then the bluetooth is useful.

I have high hopes for this one!
I'm ready to see the tough test of the GD 010.
Commencing tough test!

Hopefully it won’t be too long.
Love how those Ani's light up!
I think the solar one may be brighter that’s what I’m going to test next.
@JimKinkade I enjoy your insights I have learned a ton.
I’ve ordered the GD-010-1. Thank you for your thoughts on the watch!

Yeah, I like the digital one. Would get the OD green one for sure. Looks very cool. 😎👍

This may be the gshock equivalent of the ae1500.
It looks like to me that the GA010-2A is about to be a big hit, I just really like how identical it is to the GA700.
Yup. To the moon. 🚀
Ana-digi is for me the best of both worlds i think. Legible with lots of functions.
New GA would be perfect balance between analog and digital if they fill indexes and hands with lume.
Light should works on lcd and dial
Very nice watch

That's a good point. Since I only travel between two time zones I hadn't realized how important the app connection can be for some people.
This is what I want from G shock, if they didn't go tough solar, 10 years battery is the only way to go
Yes, and it’s cheaper too!
Nice reveal dude and yeah the blue grey ana digi looks spot on 😎👍 and yup you know my thoughts on step counters and apps for watches 😅
The red one is kind of like your red frogman.
Fan of the burnt orange / red-ish one
Me too. I might even buy that one.

It’s hard to say until I get it in my hands but it may be more like the 9400. We shall see!
What about g-8900s new version?
Great question! I'll have to feature that one too!
How soon before we start seeing these for sale in the USA? 🇺🇸
It should be real soon. I’ll let you guys know as soon as I get the email from Casio.
Not liking 10 years battery on my watch face 😢
Переработали часы GA-700/GA-900, G-2900. Зеленые GD-010-3A скоро на моем запястье
Корпус часов напоминает G-9100
Good call on those references. I’m glad GShock is getting back to basics.
Cool video thanks !
Gd010 Orange Led light is poor or not ?
I ordered one and it should be here monday so check back in.

"Blue Tooth"? We don't need no stinking Blue Tooths. You need like, a dentist Gringo?

Bloody hell. Perhaps stop buying watches and get some sun tan lotion instead. Hahahaha
