Being a fan of both from Karachi I met this humble couple in Lahore on Jan 1st 1993.may Allah bless M Ali with Jannah and Zeba with health.Aameen.
For much of the year 1967 I was a young lad of 10, growing up in a much faster gowing Karachi; as this song among many others was making a pleasant background hum. I was hating the government school; it had become my routine to punt the school and take the buss all the way to Kimari, from there to a quick boat-ride to the Paradise Point Beach, and after a quick lunch from a vendor of fried fish, I would head home. Mother would know that I had once again missed the school for the beach; for my glistening firy tan could not be mistaken.
I had already made up my mind a year before that I will be going to America to pursue education, someday. Pakistan appeared, even then, a most dysfunctional place to come to; as I was convinced that both of my parents by leaving their home deep in South India for Karachi had been a mistake. And I was going to correct it by coming to the United States. The idea freedom appealed to me very much ...
