big fan of the Robocop series since i was a kid, this model, I mean I'm into models, machines, motorcycles, building shit...took machine shop in high school...I gotta say...this model...Is just amazing. I need to show this to my dad next time he stops over. amazing...I always liked the design of Cain, you could SEE how he works, and It's believable. the gears...the hydraulics, shocks w/springs, cain man. toughest movie Cyborg ever. hands down. he'd take T-800s by the dozen.
This has to be one of, if not THE greatest models I've ever seen. Dude, you should be working for Sideshow or Hot Toys. I especially like the graphite metallic finish. Stunning!
There are those who tinker, there are those who hack, and there Candyman. Seriously, I never get tired of looking at pictures of your site, I hope to see soon an airsoft project. Love from France.
Holy Freaking SHIT!,,,that was Absolutley INSANE!...MAN! I just think this has to be the SICKEST! custom i've ever seen.. Thanks! for uploading that vid! bro!...is an absolute Freaking MasterPiece!,,, you should upload a vid! showing size comparisons... so we can get a sense of scale...Once again! Great Work! Bro!...Awesome vid!...probably gonna watch it a few million times!
Robocop : Where is Cain? Guy : I don't know. Robocop : WHERE is Cain?? Guy : I don't know man! Robocop : WHERE IS CAIN?! Guy : Ok!Ok! He's at a warehouse!
May I say that you have done a MAGNIFICENT job! Phil Tippett would be proud! Is there any chance you could do a video showing the articulation of your model, or even a stop-motion film featuring your creation? I have never seen anything like this. It is beautiful! I can imagine the offers you've had from folks wanting to buy it! Well done!
I recall a member of the RoboCop Archive Forums, a few years back, documenting his progress in building a miniature Cain replica... would that happen to have been you? It turned out phenomenal, regardless.
Extremely impressive model, I always wondered though, what is the radioactive symbol for? I know he requires "cain" to function but I don't think that stuff is radioactive.
Hiya, thanks. Well I think the "nuke" was used to keep him under control, he was addicted to it when he was alive, so they programmed him to "need it". The radiation symbol I would imagine was where the power source would be, a machine that big and heavy would need so much power it would need recharging every half hour if it was on batteries! I guess the idea is he is nuclear powered.
ukmonsters Yeah, I figured as much, anyways keep up the great work. You are very talented in your field, I'm surprised your not working for Mcfarlane toys or something.
I took some pictures with him in a couple of different "poses" they are on my site. I keep meaning to try some stop motion but never really get round to it!
Hey man, Amazing piece of work....mind blowing Would you be so helpful, to give me a couple of measurements of the right arm, with claw- (same side as welder) Doing a life size from wood/fibreglass, and my mock up arm looks off, and I dont have a model to measure- many thanks
ohhhh wow that's why its soo detailed, well I got this old resin kit and I gotta say its pretty good too if I would paint it right though but your cain is the best for sure
Candyman Hi thats fine i remember watching the movie back in 1992 i am really surprised kenner or Takara never produced a Toy of the Robocain back in the 1990s i spoke with Paul of chronicle collectibles but they have NO plans to release the original stop motion puppets so all people get is the statue i think im just going to buy the Argonauts Cain kit which is just as good thats a Beautiful Piece by the way your work is Great hope you have a excellent day
Candyman Hi again i agree with you However Paul of chronicle told me they are refusing to offer the oriiginal stop motion puppets for sale the originals only 7 to 8 were made is what i was told they are the same as your model an the same used in the action scenes of the Robocop 2 movie the head can extend an move on the pistons an it also has the Bolt cutter on the right side of the body as well as the Electric Torch on the left which can both extend the stop motion puppets there releasing however have none of those basic Active features i plan to buy the Argonauts version which is not as Awsome as yours but still pretty dang good for a reasonable price of 650.00 usd im not sure what that would be inn Brittish dollers. have a Good weekend an thank you for sharing this awsome Piece really enjoyed it. Cheers
JAY W Yeh I agree, plus im guessing its resin/plastic compared to the original metal. I did see one get auctioned, one of the original from the film, it was December 2010 there was a "hollywood auction" they sold a lot of Tim Burton puppets and a whole lot of other stuff. The rubber resin cain they made for when he fell off the roof sold to a chap I know for about $4000. The actual stop motion cain went for about $45,000, but then it was actually used in the film, I don't know who bought that.
whether in jest or not this took me 14 months of work where ever I had time, I have a full time job and a life away from my projects so it took a lot of dedication to spend 600 hours working on this where a "normal" person would be sat on their ass watching tv.

you are an artist !!!

I remember watching the progress of this beast. Superb work. Thought about a T-800 or parts of one (the cyberdyne arm)?
Blimey - I remember seeing a similar model that had a little LCD monitor for Cain's head, but alas I can't seem to find it any more.
정말 훌륭하게 잘 만들었다. Great Work... Great !!
