- New Consumer Price Index data indicates inflation slightly slowed in April, but certain costs of living, like gas prices and shelter, are still increasing. CBS News senior business and technology correspondent Jo Ling Kent reports.

It's still high. Insurance, rent, groceries, fast food and gas prices keep going up without end.
I just paid $4 for a package of hot dogs. It used to be $1.99 at Target. $5 for a package of tortillas, I’ll be making my own in the future. Bought some cheese for $10, it was a store brand. I paid $4 for a bag of chips that the bag has been shrunk in size, glad it was on sale. I went to Starbucks, I skipped the tip. I was going to buy a box of chocolates, it was $40!!! What the hell. A local high school was selling chocolates. They told me 1 for $4. I was outraged again. I’m sure I’ll pay $10 for a box of Girl Scout cookies next time.
Just stop. The prices are way too high, and this inflation cooling propaganda is nonsense.
Apparently the whole inflation thing is a little complex for the producers at CBS but a monthly CPI number is the annualized change from the prior month.The 20% inflation numbers from Biden’s previous 3 years are already established so just tack that 3% on top of the 20 at the end of the year.Duh!

It's obvious that they're just doing what they can to keep rates high. Otherwise they would've just bumped it another little bit and gotten this over with. They just don't want to bring down the interest.
I love comments like this b/c they reflect an ignorance of the basic economic principles behind inflation. It just shows how badly our educational system has failed....

Unchanged doesn't bring much happiness if something has doubled in price over the last few years and income didnt rise over the same period. A bag of oranges 4 $ to 8$. Gas and import cost just because a product says distributed in U.S doesn't mean it came from the U.S I would image this to become a bigger problem going forward with climate changes and it's clear the farmers are not getting extra income from it.
