Synopsis:
In the process of stepping into society from campus, Yan Xiao Chen, an ordinary girl, suffered thrilling setbacks of fate and love. She used to have a happy family, but a terrible accident took her father’s life and left heavy burden on her. Yan Xiao Chen’s in love with Shen Hou in college. They struggle together for their career after graduation and decide to get married. However, Xiao Chen finds out that her father's death was caused by Shen Hou's mother. Thus she cancels the marriage between her and Shen Hou and flees to America. There, she meets with trouble and has to ask Cheng Zhi Yuan for help, who’s a wealthy guy she met when taking part-time . During her hardest time, Zhi Yuan was there for her and she becomes reliant on him. However, Shen Hou suddenly reappears in Xiao Chen's life and brings along Zhi Yuan's deepest secret ......

After watching a lot of dramas in the last months, finally I found this drama and I am glad to come back to leave a comment, this is a really good show. The ML and second lead are really good actors, although I loved the ML (his is so handsome and made a good job) I confess that I fell in love with the second lead (lol). For the first time since I began watching asian dramas i think that generally all the cast actors were better than the actresses. It´s a drama worth you time.
Maybe because you are a woman so you like the ML than the FL😅

The male lead reminds me of the Korean male actor, Song Kang. Noth tall and good looking. They can pass as brothers.

If you are looking for a cute and romantic story, you will be disappointed. This story is complex and fills with loss, grief, mistakes, sadness, jealousy, dreams, determinations, and sacrifices. The best parts, however, include true loves and forgiveness. Lead actors, actresses, and all supporting casts are great. I truly love it!
I really hate these type of love triangle stories. Just have two people figuring out life.

think this is one of the best love stories I have ever watched in all my ASIAN drama experiences. I cried. i REALLY LOVED THE PART WHERE SHE TALKED ABOUT HOW LIFE GIVES AND DEATH TAKES AWAY. It reminded me how death has over the years taken away what I thought was good to me but in reality was hurtful and Life in return gave me what was the best for me. I am so glad i found this drama. it is worth it and the acting is so realistic. I hope it was well received in China because it is so good.
DONT WATCH THIS IF U ARE LOOKING FOR BUTTERFLIES, ITLL GIVING U A HEADACHES INSTEAD. but for me this is so good becoz im so into this kind of complex romantic drama 😂

I read quite a few negative comments about this show but I watch the movie version and asked the viewers what's the title of the series. Thank God someone replied. Sad but it's a beautiful series. The story was beyond my expectations. Everyone put justice on their respected roles. This's one of my favorite series. Highly recommended to watch.

Just finished the series ! This is my most favorite love drama of all other dramas except the ending. This was about the Yan’s love life story. School love is always naive daring and full of heart and the matured love is full of consideration and sacrifices. Even though the ending made audiences were upset but in real life we will choose to be settled with handsome responsible kind hearted person like Cheng ( to me it was not his fault to cause the accident, her father ran on red light and Change was behind the bus who didn’t see her father running in front of his car but he took responsibility for his incident anyway to fullfill her father’s wishes even it is not his fault. Put yourself in every characters of this series and think about if we were in that situation what were we going to do? He has been traumatized by her father action and had to seek help from psychologist. it didn’t give us the satisfaction about the ending but at the end Yan said to Shen Huo “ we should give ourselves the second chance “ ( give herself and himself the second chance to choose the right person they want to be with? ). She went to US after her mother passed away( Cheng suggested her once before and Cheng, his family were there too ). She was not coming back any more that would make us understand to justify her story accordingly … Any love relationships won’t be survived if it doesn’t have respect, responsibility, devotion of each partners. Cheng had all those characters that any women looks for … thinking that way also made us felt better!

Chinese dramas have good storylines. It is the acting in some dramas that's.... cringey at times.
Some reactions to situations are not realistic either. Dude got something on his face and people from across the room laugh at him...even those who are on the side who can't see it😂

Had mixed feeling about the story & the characters. Some parts were interesting & kept me going but only up to ep 3. Can’t go on, the story is just meh…..weird ML character, can’t figure out to love or hate FL despite her strong character. I thought their ‘quick’ love story would lead to an interesting twist which could deepen their attraction to each other but hey, then came in the 2nd ML 🙄🙄

This drama is boring. I wanted to stop watching within the first 15 minutes. But, I want to see just how Shen Hou parents especially his mother caused problems for Xiaoxiao and her family. I want to see how much she kept putting up with dealing with Shen Hou a immature, controlling, selfish, non-understanding individual that doesn’t understand what it means to have to take care of a family when your father dies and your mother has become crazy with grief and has a gambling addiction. It would be nice if she used her brain in her relationships and her family life like she does in her financial work life. Sometimes you’ve got to let family go and let them get help so you can be happy and have a peaceful life.
