Very beautiful result. I had never heard of rain chains/kusari-doi until your video! They are a beautiful idea and I am thinking of ways I can add them to my garden. (One thing:-Beware of the asparagus fern. It can grow out of control and become invasive in the garden. ) Thanks for sharing your renovation journey…
THANK YOU. Such a treat when you post. What you produce is not only practical but always so beautiful with a touch of magic 🍄 including your little one who listens attentively to Dad. Well done you three! Love love love…always makes my day 😊
Just discovered and subscribed to your channel. Love your garden patio renovation, thank you for sharing your video, I look forward to your next project.
Talking to your baby about future gardening projects is genius!! Never too early to have inspiring conversations with our children. Love all your designs in this episode. I'd love to have you as my neighbors. I've been sitting on a downspout situation for years. Now mole holes in a window well adds to the to do list. Brainstorming solutions with you would be so interesting : )
this is so inspiring. im doing my house in milwaukee and looking for cool diy beautiful minimalist naturebased ideas & this is perfect. thank you again look forward to see your journey here!
I would put the potting table anywhere other than on that tile :).....glad you went with DG and not pea gravel much easier to walk on, pea gravel is round and hard to get traction.. they act like ball bearings! The rest of the projects should allow for water to percolate down so should be a permeable surface if you are treating run off properly, you want to avoid channeling it into the drains in California...You could have still stayed in keeping with the Eichler aesthetic by putting larger format pavers in 1/8" dg .. the water would percolate down and tie easy with the dg paths...Another water saving practice for California is to install a laundry to landscape gray water system.. no permit required, low tech, no pumps or filters less that $200 in materials .. and your trees and shrubs get free year round watering every time you do your wash... better than water catchment for Califonians dont need to store it .. citrus absolutely love it
Thanks for your constructive feedback, reusing the gray water is definitely something we haven't thought of, i will take a deeper look into this, i wonder how automatic it can be. what is thoughts on the potting table, why not on the tile, would you like to elaborate a little bit? thanks!

The plumbing arrangement for the garden is great, did you use the smart irrigation controller?
we used the rainbird digital timer for our irrigation system, not fully "smart" but automatic enough

Check out your closest native plant nursery. That’s what will bring in wild life. Plus, since they’re native, they’re low maintenance.

It be a fence lizard, we don’t mean to scare it away, it was meant to be a friendly interaction
