- Controversial reboot version by director Kazuya Shiraishi, who is always seeking for the intense “human” and “violence” dramas.
The main cast is Hidetoshi Nishijima who played in the "DRIVE MY CAR" (won the prize on Academy Award for Best International Feature Film), and Tomoya Nakamura who is a talented young actor.
It will be coming to amazon prime video in autumn 2022!!

They really go all in with this series. If you guys look up the casting, those actors are no joke especially Hidetoshi Nishijima which are top actor for main role. I believe this series gonna set a new bar for Kamen rider probably paving for more future high budget Kamen rider series. 🔥

@@bit0016 true, KR is still very much a "kiddie franchise" at its heart. But it's nice to see it doing something like this from time to time. Kinda like how Marvel and DC has materials for younger audiences alongside older ones.
@@bit0016 judging on how well received The boys( 18+ adult superheroes series which currently air on Amazon prime as well). Why can't a well established tokutsatsu like Kamen Rider do the same thing?
It's about time Toei have another line of adult theme Kamen rider series exist alongside their usual mainstream series. The success of Deadpool and the boys shows that there are demands for more mature superheroes contents.
With Shin KR and KR Black Sun projects, it seems like Toei do realize the market potential for it. So it's not that far fetched to assume that if both of this projects doing well, Toei might consider continue on with this mature theme projects just like the mainstream one.
In the end it doesn't hurt to cater to both side of the audiences as long the money can be make.

Love that the opening is a riot. Now this is a real Golgom plot. I feel like the original series didn't explore much on this despite Golgom is an organisation that control within shadows.

If you read the manga black and shadow moon's rider forms are more organic and let's just say in the manga both can literally kill everyone if they wanted too. Since black can actually kill someone a mile away just by using his telepathy and revived them at the sametime. Both got heavily weakened in thw tv series

Black was my favorite Kamen Rider growing up. I wasn’t too happy about the redesigned Black suit when it was first revealed. I was hoping it would be his transitional battaman form only when I saw the new suit since it was so different from the original design. The new suit is starting to grow on me now. The cinematic lighting and keeping the suit partly in the shadows really makes it look much cooler than in the initial photo reveals. Can’t wait to see this.
Check out the original Kamen Rider Black comic book series , you will understand why they have this suit design.

I really like the visual dichotomy between the original Black and Shadow Moon, with Black having organic textures under his armor, while Shadow Moon appeared far more smooth and mechanical throughout. While the new suits look cool, they seem to have forgone that textural contrast, which I feel is a loss.

that's because they used the manga design as a basis for their design, also, unlike in the original series, it seems that those versions of Black and Shadow Moon will be purely mutants and not Cybernetic Mutants so Shadow Moon's more mechanical design wouldnt really fit, and if you look correctly, there is still this textural contrast as some of Shadow Moon's designs have been implemented on this new version so there is still this difference between the two
