I disagree. Having money does make you happy. I think the reason people say stuff like, “money can’t buy happiness or can’t buy everything,” is because they view money as something they have to spend to be happy. That’s wrong. Spending money might make you happy in the moment, but having money will make you happy long term. I have money, a lot of it in fact. I made it by working hard and not spending it. Now I have the freedom to do whatever I want, but more importantly, I don’t have to do what I don’t want. That’s the best feeling in the world. It makes everything better. The thing you have to be careful of is, other people don’t want you to get there. Because once you have enough money that you don’t have to do what they say, they can’t use you to make their money. There’s nothing that a capitalist hates more than someone with a lot of money who doesn’t spend it and doesn’t need any more of it from them. You know who capitalists love? It seems like Japan has an even worse work culture than the US, but we definitely both have an understanding for the struggle of life. I've been working a side hustle myself along with my full time job
In the US wage scales are different.
Upper class greater than equal to $250k/year
Upper Middle Class is greater than equal to $150k/year
Middle Class is greater than equal to $55k/year
Lower Middle Class is greater than equal to $35k/year
Lower Class is greater than equal to $25k/year.
My father is in upper class, however I am in middle class and I can not afford to live where my parents are, what should I do?

Today was one of those days I wanted to buy some dorritos, a bottle of pepsi and eat in my closet..
You should look into the WEF, Globalism, and CBDC. There is a reason why you cannot see a positive future under the current economic systems, it is by design. Putting your faith in money is not going to help anything.
Money is not everything. It just makes up a part of everything. And just like with the other parts. You either have it or don’t. Money IS important. What you choose to do with it is on you. And money CAN buy happiness. It can also buy sadness, hate, love, kindness etc. It can buy a lot of things. But it cannot buy everything.
Great. You read a fortune cookie. Got it.
People just want to be miserable and financially comfortable bro. That's all. No one here is praising money like it's god. Relax your crack.
Doritos and Pepsi is a golden combination
Yeah? Ask your toilet
Yes, best combination. Very unique
I will start hiding in my closet eating food and talking to a camera every night. See how my family likes that! Thanks for the inspiration 50-year-old Japanese man
But you also need to be 50 years old for it to work.
He's right. If you're not 50, city officials will come by and forcibly remove you with the aid of the police.
True.. Having money is important. That's why i started making RUclips too.. Hopefully could have viewers like your channel.. You're so such inspiration
I am half Japanese and half French-Canadian man, and my last name is Mitoma, and for the first few minutes I thought you were saying my last name for the second half of the bank's name, haha. I was listening but not watching for a few minutes but had to come back and see if you were actually saying it. So close!
I'm half English half japanese. So I'm not alone😂

Money is the root of all evil - Money can't buy you love - It's all about the money - A man with money is no match against a man on a mission.
Thanks for the video. It’s always interesting to hear about life in Japan.

Am I the only one copying this guy's eating/drinking on friday nights
I’ve been rich, and I’ve been poor as well. Having money definitely gives you a sense of security and ability. It’s nice to have money, as long as it doesn’t take away or threaten your security, in that case you just prefer having enough money but can sleep well and eating with appetite.
Im going to buy pepsi today. And not doritos because I dont like them but a nice bag of chips.
By the way, your friday night was a lot more productive than mine. I just fell asleep on the couch because I was so exhausted from work
Have some tea and meditation instead and you'll see your midlife crisis slowly fading away
Doritos should pay you some money, because you regularly give them free advertising 😅
I love how he’s honest about it. Brother, I’m down for this channel 4 life like the nwo
It does bro, but the way you earn it is the question
Japan: I work at a bank. "Wow, lucky you!" Canada: I work at a bank. "Wow, poor you, that must be so boring!"
"Have you every eaten American Doritos, which are nacho cheese flavor, not taco flavor?"
😂😂😂
Honesty is the greatest virtue, so kudos for that. Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy peace of mind.
timothy 6:10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

I live in the US, and I just have one part time job, and I do other things on the side, like buy bonds and collect interest on it, buy and sell stocks, e-commerce, make furniture, make electronic devices, social media, etc. Even with all these things, my income is a lot less than what I made from one full time job.
Bro what was your point? lol 😂 just get a full time job

Money only amplifies what you already have in your heart.
its kinda wild how different the mentality is compared to the states.
Japanese work culture is very important there. They commit to the companies they work for more than we do in the rest of the world. They commit themselves so much in the hope that after spending harworking half their lives in a company they will be rewarded with a pension that is enough to live with dignity. That's why his message is: "If employees at the company with the highest retirement bonus need to find a second way to make money, what does it mean for the rest of them if they don't have that 'dream job'?"
Life long employment at one company crumbled in the US and probably most other countries 1-2 generations ago.
Question is, whether it will be more like falling from a cliff because it was held up (possibly artificially) by rigid tradition / apparently regulation for much longer in Japan, or if things are just catching up and it’s only about to start gradually going down the hill towards where everyone else is at.
The traditions will make this situation confusing to navigate.
Anyway, you can sleep in a closet too though it might raise the concern of others, the small space is pretty good, almost like camping in a tent lol
Friday has been saved!
What do you think about Mizuho financial? Is it Mitsui Sumitomo a better bank?
The doritos hype
Thank you sir
wealth and greed are the reasons the average persons fells like this in this day and age. company's and wealthy people are buying so many homes to rent out its made it near enough impossible to own a home and not be a slave to money there whole lifes for the average person... stuck in a cruel system. your not alone bro keep pushing forward
Money is amazing if you can find the time to spend it on fun things.
what is a "retirement bonus"? Is it not accessible until you retire? My employer pays a % of salary into my retirement pension but separately there is a bonus that is paid out each year that is just a normal bonus that is like normal income.
I suggest you stop playing or limit your video game playing and spend time cleaning the house or helping with cooking or spending time with your kids or take them for walk. Get related to your wife again, then the fun stuff can happen.
This guy LITERALLY makes videos of himself cooking for his family. And LITERALLY makes videos of him playing games and hanging out with his family. He's a RUclipsr bro. He makes content. And Harry Potter really can't fly. Cool your jets.

Money can buy you certain freedoms, it certainly can buy you things, but after the dust settles, it can't buy you happiness. Ultimately, the great equalizer is health. Here money can buy good healthcare, but it can't buy you a miracle. If you are faced with a terrible illness with poor prospects, the value of money diminishes greatly and you focus on the things that money can't buy or possibly distracted you from.
I hope you're seeing a therapist or counselor too and discussing your feelings with them as well. This will only take you so far, if you or anyone else out there is struggling for help please reach out to a professional. Don't keep doing it just to farm please.
Thanks for sharing. I am 28 year old Swedish man who is an incel (involuntarily celibate.) I think Japan will succeed in the end, but there will be times of troubles and strife.
That’s crazy you get to retire at age 55 years old that’s a good thing here in the U.S.A it’s 67 years old any opportunity in Japan for me ? I could retire in 10 years
This explains a lot.
With money your life and the one you love it's easier. U can help people in difficulties and u leave a life happier traveling the world, meeting other persons and another cultures and places. For me, a very good life is this but just with money I can have it. Just with money I can make difference in your life and world. It's sad but true.
If you made a business of selling Japanese products to Usa, i think it will be successful, because you can buy items cheaper with yen.
The best snack and drink for men with middle age crisis😅 I am going to buy that this weekend!
I only watched this video to hear you eat a Dorito. I love that crunch sound.
i dont care about money once you start getting use to not having much and not depending too much on earthly possessions life feels less stressful and better and yes i knew you were the type who would love money like everyone else thats why you are the way you are

I think he should be more Happy with his small food options even tho its very hard to keep hunger away. Doritos and Pepsi won't give you a full belly of Food like Burgers, Pizza, Steak and all that stuff But, at least he's not Fat Belly and Chubby. Too me I'd rather eat little food then looking like a person whose been eating steaks and be full belly 24/7 and can barely do Sit Ups unless he Rip himself open in his own Enormous Fat belly from all that fast food and steaks. Trust me once you get fat and can barely breathes you'll wished to live with little food and little drinks.
money is a lot but once your physical and mental health is destroyed it cannot help you much. So no besides money, health is important too. If you are stuck in a bad job, stressed everyday from 7 am to maybe 5-6pm you will die sooner, get ill sooner and lose everything anyway. Yes i know the importance of money but health is also important and if you are totaly unhappy with your life your health drops also very fast.
I'm not sure whether 8M per year is a lot at 40 year. I earn that much being software engineer(scala, data releated stuff) at 26. The banking industry is of course more stable job, but it's easier to get into IT
