I've never used them in almost 3 years with my authority--what I've noticed of Justin hauling for them is a lot of last minute taking the loads when they get to a decent price. That is hard to do in ATL because it takes me one to two hours to get to most any pickup.
Their model is NOT beneficial to consumers and operators and they did the same with uber passengers. They take a really small percentage off the top initially so that the rates the shipper is paying is lower than the average, and the operator is not as substantially lower than the nominal rate. Then, after years of causing small businesses to go bankrupt and destroying lives, they hike their prices without increasing the payout to operators. Eventually, as they're doing with their passenger service, they just don't show you how much the customer paid and then they start reducing the driver pay! I love uber! They take so much without providing any insurance or coverage. They offer you "full coverage" but in the fine print it's just liability.
When uber first started i ran about 150k of uber alone their first yr. After 3 years never used them again. There's money out here still just not with general freight and gotta get away from the dry box
Man I feel for all you Owner Ops out there trying to make it in this industry. When I started trucking 2 years ago, I originally intended to get my experience in with company driving and then save to buy my own truck but with stuff like this happening and the always worsening economy, I may be a company man for my entire career. Props to you Justin for hanging on the ropes with these awful brokers. One thing I’ve learned since I’ve started is no one respects the drivers anymore. Used to be a highly sought after career that commanded great respect from the public like nurses, police, EMT, etc. we’re still just as important but not as valued.
Maybe its time to look into different frieght and a different trailer? Itd be an interesting video/live stream to hear and see you look into other types of frieght and discuss your thoughts on it. Also ive been running illinois, indiana, ohio, Tennessee, kentucky, and georgia and havent seen an empty truck stop at all. Theyve been about 80% or more full. I struggle most nights trying to find parking
Justin, you may not know but Lockheed Martin moved production of the F-16 to Greenville Donaldson Center area from Fort Worth, Texas, in 2019. The plant currently produces the entire F-16 series. SC Proud!!
Boy how times have changed, they call it the spot market today. Back in the day in the early 2000s we used to call it the load board you have to stop at a truck stop, yep just to look at the load board to see what freight's available, I used to like getting loads from landstar don't know if they're around anymore.
I rode with my dad every summer from age 8 to 23 when I started driving local bulk loads for the USPS. My dad retired in '22 and does part time yard jockey a few days a week just to be around the trucks.
I read an article last week that stated a lot of freight companies are no longer doing contracts. They are now doing their rates at the spot market price and have warned companies to be prepared to pay more for shipping. I think that has a lot of ramifications. I just want to say that it’s been a joy watching you and Katie with your boys. I can’t believe how much they have grown, since I started following you. Katie, hang in there with Tank starting school. Hugs to you! Thanks, Melinda
I was booking a load with one broker today and they were holding back and couldn’t get the pick up numbers because other broker was bidding the shipper for less (it was tql, they were posting the same load I was booking for $1200 at a $1000). So I had to wait till the end of the day for them to realize tql would not have a truck. Than they sent it to the broker I was booking with and I got it finally. Big players will run us all to the ground… the problem being that tql will tender the load to anyone and just wait for someone desperate.
Just got paid from them deadbeats one month to the day after moving the Uber load. The only way that I would move for them in the past was that they would pay what they posted the next day. That is out the window! I applied for the card and what a joke. I turned it down before I hit my mailbox. No way am I going to spend 3000 to get next day pay. My option is they will go the way of Convoy.
Justin you are the best dad ever I like how you make time for you Three sons and you make time with your wife T dubs all I can say is thank God for cement loads it helps pays the bills
As someone who does not live or work in the US I can assure you that your economy is far more robust than ours is in Canada. Having driven in the oilpatch here I seldom turned down work during the 15 days on duty except to reset. Some shifts we were only a few hundred miles from home, other times thousands of miles from home. And we were paid well, what's my point, as a trucker we pick our poison so to speak, so if one chooses to run close to home you are dependent on that region's goings on. The other day I was in northern Alberta and I saw a US driver on his way back to the US after dropping off his load. He of course has to return to the US or get a US bound load in Canada and then head back to the US. Every driver chooses depending on his position, independent or company, where he drives and what he earns. If he sleeps while on the road, makes his own meals or frequents restaurants. That's freedom on the road. If I wasn't close to 80 I'd do it all over again. Stay safe all
Amazing how US truck drivers have to get a US bound load back but where I live almost half the trucks are Canadian trucks that stay down here half a year or more. I am glad we are so good to everyone but our citizens nice.
We’re getting flocked by unAMERICAN. But American ran companies are contributing to this by getting their discount employees and tax credits. What’s sad is how we trained unAMERICAN’s to fly airplanes and now giving them a different grid to fly. The market is definitely compromised by bullsheet due to bullsheet. I love and appreciate your channel cause you speak the truth and are such a great husband and father! Keep up your great vibe!

You made a comment yesterday about your phone. You need to go back to your old phone for video. It had a much better picture and far better image stabilization. Your new phone is way too shaky. Even increasing the bandwidth its still a bad picture when your driving down the road. (I do love watching your channel)

Justin, totally sucks ya got screwed over by Uber like that....hope ya get that TONU though. Looks like ya had a lovely day with the boys and that's all that matters in the end. Also, the cement loads help bring in income til ya get a load...win win there. Happy you guys are home safe and sound now. God bless you 🙏✨. PS Poor Tdubs and all that constant laundry 🧺😮.
Hey drivers just to give a heads up, I think there is a bug going around. Not feeling good, running a fever, hot & cold chills, sore throat, coughing & can barely talk. So please take care of yourself & stay safe out there.
Love your videos and your business model. But the strength of the economy is complicated. The fact that you can afford $20 Taco Bell is a by product of the economy while inflation reflects record corporate profits. And pass thru charges to the consumer-which includes freight rates, affect both. Supply and demand causes market fluctuation. Do I think the economy is great- no. But in comparison to much worse times-it ain’t that bad.
Jesse loves running our KW through tunnel's with the J Brake on all the time. And u can see people flying by fast. Cause it's so loud when he does it. Even friend's will be like dam u TJ that's loud. The kid's they still love to ride there bikes around the trail at the park. And they usly rollar blade around the trail's also trying to keep up with Jesse who fly's around the trail's pretty fast. We are about ready to head to church for family fun night. And they are going to be serving Chicken Patties and Hot Dog's and everybody is asked to bring a dish. And i made Pasta Salad and helped Grandma make her famous Mac and Cheese. Jesse does not like the box kind of mac and cheese he won't eat it if it's boxed kind. Neighbor's are going riding with us in the van. Great i they added Dodge Ball to the game's and Jesse was like yes. Nana was like oh hell u hit me again i will get u back. It was a accident she was walking by the area not to go when they play dodge ball and when she came into view the dodgeball nailed her in the middle of her forehead. It scared me hearing Jesse screaming and a few yelling my name and i am like what's going on. I appeared and she's siting up. And she was rubbing her forehead going that hurt. And somebody was like u walked in the area the ball's are being thrown. And she was like i did'nt see no sign. And now they have sign's up and somebody beside the corner.
Trucking company get loads shipping co $2.10/$2.00 cpm to bankruptcy/closed. Trucking/Shipping companies have both of Walmart/Amazon buy high cpm/trucker salary with up high 50% prices items to customers at Walmart Store/Amazon Online. Trucking companies axe all owner operators truckers.
I don't think Uber is actually helping the truck driver. All they do is add to the already poor rates.
I've never used them in almost 3 years with my authority--what I've noticed of Justin hauling for them is a lot of last minute taking the loads when they get to a decent price. That is hard to do in ATL because it takes me one to two hours to get to most any pickup.

Uber should stick to giving people rides and not freight
They are not even good for giving rides anymore. $43 for a 7/10's of a mile ride without a tip. I decided to walk.
Justin, you may not know but Lockheed Martin moved production of the F-16 to Greenville Donaldson Center area from Fort Worth, Texas, in 2019. The plant currently produces the entire F-16 series. SC Proud!!
So did they handcuff all of their quality assurance people like Boeing did when they moved to SC?
I pull automotive freight dedidated and the plant I pull for is off next week, lots of drivers looking for freight next week

You are so good at handling those personnel who load you or are supposed to load you.
No ethics when it comes to money! I realized that 10 years ago when I started trucking! You have to adapt and adjust to make it!
Just got paid from them deadbeats one month to the day after moving the Uber load.

Just back from vacation in Savannah… Love watching the container ships pass. Wondering if truckers hauling the sea cans make decent money?
Look closely at condition of these trucks (how good or bad they look) and take a clue. They don’t.
Justin get a tanker or start hauling gas you will never have to worry about work. Everbody needs it.
Nobody is worst than TQL
Exactly‼️
No Uber and Amazon is worse then TQL sorry
You where close to Cincinnati when you stopped at THE ARK on your way home. I forgot where you delivered to!
I stay away from Uber freight. They have cancelled a couple of loads my first year as a OO. Not reliable at all.
haha yes I agree with you Loves truck stops are horribly designed. never liked parking at them.
The absolute worst for how big of a network they have

It's not that he doesn't like the cement. It's that the cement is corrosive to the truck which is why he bought the FLD originally.
