Yo that double sided Darth Maul one is sick. I just imagined him in a fight and he blast a spell at a guy in front of and then a guy comes up behind him hand he quickly shoots a spell behind him. Could make for a interesting dual scene tbh.
I'm late to the party, but petrified wood is basically a wood fossil. Petrified wood is wood that was buried and the organic material was slowly replaced by the surrounding minerals. What I think what they were getting at was something closer to fulgurite? It's when lightning strikes sand and creates these tubes of crystals. I am having trouble finding a term for wood that was struck by lightning.

Actually petrified wood is a process of fossilization. So no this is not a petrified wood wand. The fact that comes from a lightning strike tree is pretty cool. If he was trying to be fancy about it you could call it partially carbonized wood but that's not nearly the same thing as petrified.

Yeah, this is a great video because for future creators, discussing the various elements of "design" gives food for thought and trains the eye to look out for these details when putting an idea together before starting on the project. I've always wanted to make my own wand, I have its design in my mind's eye, but that is a far cry from bringing it to life. Your videos help the process, but I won't begin on it until January or February. If I can keep your advise on some of these elements when I start, it may turn out decent. Thanks for taking the time to share your craft and your process.

Hey kivox, how do you feel about symbols being carved/burned on a wand? I've been making wands for about 6 years and something I'm known for is symbols on wands. Also spirals are a big part of my wands
Tbh I feel like most of these wands are way too simple and not even comparable to yours? But hey who am I to judge since I've never made one ahahhaah. I hope my sketches make it into the next review 🔥

A double sided wand makes as much sense as a gun that shoots out of a second backward barrel. None, is how much.

Tbh I love pommel heavy too! They just feel elegant by nature!
As a wand maker I think that the wand with the wizard head on it would look a lot better without the wizard head. Your carvings are really good though
