Thank you, Bishop Budde, for such a powerful message at the Cathedral regarding rebuilding foundations. As a Black American, it was validating to hear recognition of the struggles of Black Americans in America throughout the ages. And congratulations on your personal growth in facing up to the need to replace the symbols (windows) in the Cathedral representing oppression of formerly enslaved people of our great country.

Artistic representation of an integral element of US history which is often overlooked and discounted. This artist charged the Cathedral $18.65, a meaningful amount. That touched me deeply. Oh my goodness! What a great contribution. Imagine his joy in giving so generously of his “talents” - his skill, his time, his thoughtfulness, his love for his community and love for justice. And to our Cathedral for doing the right thing when the previous wrongs were made manifest. Dear Cathedral, thanks. What a great example you’ve set.
