- On My Birthday, My Family Gave Me A 'Special' Present. When I Opened It, It Was An Eviction Notice For My Own House. I Smiled As I Returned The Favor On Their Wedding Day... (Full Story) #reddit #redditstories #storytime #redditreadings
The moral of the story, NEVER, EVER, put money into a house who's title isn't in your name, not even if it's your parents house.
Great advice
This👆👆
If you listened to enough stories here then this isIf you listened to enough stories here you know that is actual fact!!
Never ever believe a relative over direct family without verifying the relative's story first.
Them wrapping up the eviction notice as a birthday present is cruel. There is no coming back from that. Parents are terrible
that was the most horrible present ever!!
Hmm
Sounds like Selah had them wrapped in false stories of how much in financial and legal danger their daughter was in . Honestly I suspect the present was her idea with some bs reasoning like “well she may whine at the time but eventually she will see the gift you gave her by protecting her from the backlash of breaking those permits and all the complaints and from having to spend money she doesn’t have on the house, when you think about it isn’t protecting your daughter from that a great gift!!!!! “ Also knowing her reaction to the gift would likely help push the “stressed daughter past her limits” view . She just didn’t expect op to have a friend who could aim that right
My sister, 16 years older than me, thought I was taking too much medicine. Everything was prescribed by a doctor and necessary, but she called it drugs and wrapped up the admission paper to get rid of my addiction to give it to me as a Christmas present. Family is vicious
WTF is her name? Stella, Seela, Salah? Every damn time she's mentioned it's different.
There was one the other day with like 5 different names. Tyre, Tyra, Tia and a couple more. Ridiculous. I thought I was the only one who ever noticed🤣
You missed "Sale", my personal favourite.
@@bsouthmama3010 I remember that one, at some points they would mention 2 different names almost in the same sentence. 😅
@ lol yup
Hey, at least her relationship to the narrator didn’t seem to change. Sometimes they go from cousin, to sister, to sister in law, to mother, to mother in law. 😂
Sorry/not sorry, but I would NEVER forgive my parents. Regardless of the circumstances, they gave OP an appalling birthday "present".
Again they will never fully appreciate OP, the cousin was the golden child, and they are unworthy of trust
@@angelfisheqcoachingwhat kind of parents do this? It’s unbelievably cruel!
@@wplains Parents who care more about their own interests than their kids
They never even checked the cousin's assertions.
@@virtualatheist The story was so confusing with all the descriptions about planning permits and whatnot, that I frankly just gave up and turned it off. Boring as heck! 🥱
What a cruel birthday present to receive. Doesn’t matter how sorry the parents are; they can’t take this back.
Baby what is her name? Yall done called her Stella, Shiela, Salla and Selah
So, they were planning to demolish a house that they didn't own? 😂
All her folks are trifling 😂
What kind of parents give their daughter an eviction notice wrapped up as a fancy gift on her birthday? Is it Sallah or Stella?
All that said I ABSOLUTELY loved the story!! Am loving the ones where the doormats show up and show out!! Keep em coming!
Thank you! Will do!
If you put money into the house with an agreement that they would be giving it to you that is breach of contract and I go to a court immediately and put a lien on the house. They have to pay you back.
That moment when she exposed Salah in front of everyone? PURE GOLD.
I can’t understand how her mom and dad would do this!!!
Selah had got them convinced through false documents, that the op was loosing more and more money on the house, that she was getting complaints, getting in potential legal issues , the kind that ironically could land her in jail, etc. sounds like she had been working that angle for months until they thought they needed to protect her, if she didn’t have the house she couldn’t spend all her money on it, couldn’t get in legal trouble. It was likely even Selah who suggested the birthday gift . Some nonsense like “Well she may whine at the time but once she has calmed down she will see the gift you are giving her, the gift of protection not having to spend money she doesn’t have, of not breaking permits and going to jail!!”
The way I wouldn’t have nothing to do with my parents. They believed her without ever confronting Viv.
When you have sacrificed everything for your worthless parents and your cousin is the golden child
Why cancel the wedding. It was a match made in heaven. They both throughly deserve each other. Her cousin got being ruthless from her father. When she couldn't get what she wanted she tried intimidation and threats. But with family it doesn't work. It just makes them more determined and ultimately will bring you down. In the end everyone came together to put a wrong to a right and save a legacy passed down though generations the way it was intended.

They cancelled the wedding, Better yet HE cancelled the wedding because they absolutely were NOT the same. Up until the rehearsal dinner he - Valenteen, the fiancé, believed whatever Salah was telling him. Up until then he was convinced that she acquired the rights to the house through legal means. He did Not know about the forged documents, and all the manipulations. When he spoke to her - Viv, the homeowner, in a menacing manner, he was convinced by his lying fiancé Salah, whatever she had told him. He looked down on her -Viv - from the view through Salah's lies. When the truth was revealed at the rehearsal dinner he was in complete shock. After learning the dearth of Salah's manipulations, the whole condo complex was called off, By Him. He is trying to redeem himself by helping with the needed house repairs. I don't think he even knew about the brick through the window. Maybe he did, because he stated he 'owed' her when he arrived with Jayce to do repair work. He quickly realized that the entire family development business was at risk through his lying manipulating fiancé, and her illegal calculations, and immediately halted any further movement on the impending Condo development, with the investors putting the final screw in the coffin by pulling out of the project all together. Also, to save the family business and put fresh minds in place, he acquiesced his leadership role, and allowed his sister to become CEO. So even though it felt like Salah and Valenteen were in cahoots, he was just as much in the dark about Salah's illegal activities, as were Viv's parents
I'd remove EVERY improvement I'd ever done physically, that new flooring ? COMING UP!! The new kitchen appliances all MINE and leaving with me! Those roof repairs? Guess what mom the roof tiles are coming off and the new garage ? DEMOLISHED!!
I wrote something similar til I released in the story the house was going to be demolished anyway so if that would have happened she would have done their job for them 😅
Stella or Sala, Sela, Solace, Salsa.... what is the sister's or cousin's name???😂😂😂😂
How come she own the house since childhood?
It was Grandma's house originally, how a child owns a property simple they inherit it. Grandma's will probably stated OP got her house.
This would make a good Hallmark Channel movie
Do they still even make those anymore? The plots for those movies are always cringey.
@skycats6663 they do
The amount of audacity is making me laugh, I'm so glad my parents are kind cus god if they're not i wouldn't descended to hell not heaven i know myself and i would've bleeped myself
Just read this story on revenge central about 2 hours ago. Good story, but another repeat.
where you read this story can you tell please
@DailyRedditReadingsofficial revenge central
How come half the time she’s Salah and the other half she’s Stella? What is her actual name?
Creative BOTing.😮
Cap, this is a made up story. Doesn't sound legit at all.
Great story, and it's nice that some that some seemed villainous turned out to be genuinely good people. Itd be great if she ended up with her sister's ex, as thatd be karma at its best and shed at least have a better sister where the affection came from working together. I think the ex coming by to help repair what his ex did was a sweet gesture in itself! There should be a part 2!
Please fix the pronunciation of At and It. It always says A-T and I-T.
Ok thanks
Rip out any modifications you have paid for, take up the floorboards, take the fixtures, any white goods... take it all
Calm down your kicking out a family member in 30 days, but you let them know on their birthday, and you think everything is going to be OK what planet are you from?
Yeah many people shouldn't be allowd to became parents
stella sure lost her grove completely. she'll suffer in prison!!
The OP Always KNOWS somebody in the EXACT business they need for whatever is the problem. In this case, someone in real estate. If they don't someone they know, does.
When you open “I.T” You cant say the word it
Great fictional stories. ❤
Salah or Stella or Sola or Seela? I'm getting confused. I wish these channels would get it together.
***I thought the OP wasn't invited to the wedding. Why is she at the dinner?
She was at the wedding but not the private after party
Wait?! "Not much we can do without proof of who threw it". Umm😶, that was a cop who said that in regards to the brick thrown through the window. Did they dust for prints, DNA, check CCTV, do ANYTHING like investigate?!
stop pretending these obvious works of fiction are actual real life stories.
Is anyone going to stop the demolition crew,?
Whoever writes this bullshit should write for TV!
Is it Stella, Salah or Seal? Her sisters name changes everytime!
I T?
Sella or Stella,Sala,Sayla
Talk about playing your hands too soon!
what about the jewellery?
What in the Disney movie was this story
Complete bs. Not worth your time
What a silly story. Why would anyone, except an idiot, renovate someone else's home?
It's made up, do people really do that to their children?!?!?!
Shtty story.
