NICELY DONE!
This is superb playing. Keith Moon had the toms for a reason, he used them. He was not constrained to just a high hat, ride and snare. It is great to see you bring Keith's playing to light.
That is excellent! I wanted to learn how to play this ... thank you for sharing!
Damn! Nice cover. I’ve never posted before FYI.
Nice job. I’ll be scrolling your page
Nailed it
Brilliant -- and I really like that you caught what people often miss -- Keith's really nice six-stroke rolls on the snare and toms towards the end.
Really great drumming! One of The Who’s best songs! 🤘🏻
Fantástic Cover 🥁🤘
Excellent. Best drum cover of this song that I have ever seen/heard👍🏻
Thanks!
Gran trabajo. 💪
Awesome! You really Mooned this. Love the toms. He was such a distinctive drummer. Always something to learn from him. Nice job.
Excellent stuff!
Snare sounds tight
Nicely done Joe! Great choice of songs!
awesome. really nailed the end sequence there
Excellent and great sound
Thanks!
This is worth a like and a sub. Awesome playing
Thanks for watching!
I was listening to this song today and was thinking, "damn, this would be hard to play on the drums." You make it look so easy!
Outstanding
Great performance, really really good.
excellent
Excellent 👌
Wow! That was great, and you made it look so easy. Every time I watch Moon it’s hard to tell where he’s getting his notes from because he moves around so much.
A big part of Moon's drumming was the visual aspect. He used lots of arm movements. I play with a more conservative approach. Thanks for watching!
Fantastic!
Great drumming Joe, sounding awesome!
Thanks!
Great drumming , this has been helpful to me as this song has been added to setlist I have to learn and this cover is bang on accurate 👍
Great! Glad to help you. This isolated drum track of Keith's original drumming can help too..ruclips.net/video/NPJqg53rh54/видео.html
Many thanks 🥁
Bravissimo!!!
Awesome my friend love The Who.👍🍺🤛
Fantastic and great sound. Didn't realize how short this song is.
Thanks. This is the second part of the tune. The first 2.5 minutes are just guitars and vocal. The whole tune is 3:42.
Cool Thanx .. great fun...
Awesome!
Man I’d love to hear and see you play “You Got Me Floatin’ “by Mitch Mitchell( Jimi Hendrix)’
That was sick. Thanks! 🤙🏼
Nice going Joe! Great tune and cover!
👍👍👍👏👏👏Thank you
Nice drumming! Great cover
Love it. 🎉🎉🎉
Nice man. Sounds great. Really awesome song choice and awesome performance man.
Love this
perfect dude
It is really accurate but if you hit it 3 times harder it would be like keith moon
This purpose of this video is to show how the drumming was played, not to imitate Keith Moon. Keith wasn't a very hard player. If it was live, obviously it would be played "harder". Any seasoned professional musician will tell you, louder isn't always better.
great Joe ! I will try to 'go to school" on this one !
If you're not sure about a fill, change the speed settings to .75 or .5. It helps to slow it down sometimes.
@@JoeNocella Thank you for this recommendation, Mr. Nocello. I didn't know that was possible. Using it now.
Always loved Keith's fill variations at 0:16 and 0:38. It's a fascinating song to follow his (ultra busy) fills, and see how he varies them through the song. There's a great video of him in '75 doing the song live in Houston (ruclips.net/video/HwaovxgswH0/видео.html).
There's a drum track of Keith's playing of this tune on youtube. It's interesting how he puts fills where you least expect them and it works. Link: ruclips.net/video/gF0imCF6mIs/видео.html
love that snare beat at 49 to 53 sec,,,, epic
Beautiful! And, your kit sounds great. What crashes do you run?
Thanks..In this video, I used Paiste Signature crashes. All equipment is listed in the description.
Great 😊😁
Awesome! Joe, do you learn songs by ear or do you use charts, or any other method? I'd love to know. Thank you!
I learn by ear. I listen to the drum part as closely as I can. On these older classic rock tunes, you may be able to find isolated drum tracks from the original recordings which makes it a lot easier. Thanks..
@@JoeNocella Thanks for the reply. You are the best drummer on youtube and my go to guy to figure out a song. Not only do you hit qll the correct notes, you capture the feel of the song, which sometimes is the hardest part. Keep up the great work!
Zack Starkey should step aside and let Joe takeover
You're playing this with too much structure Keith was alot more freestyle then this. But this could be something you could put into your own songs in the future sounds brilliant 👏
You should listen to an isolated drum track of this song then come back and watch this. You'll see that this is pretty much what Keith played...
Awesome!
Man I’d love to hear and see you play “You Got Me Floatin’ “by Mitch Mitchell( Jimi Hendrix)’
Thanks. I'll check out that tune.
