Very helpful information but as this is my first winter with geraniums may I ask a question. I have three lovely flowering geraniums in a pot outdoors. Could I just move the pot into my porch? Do I have to change the compost or can I just leave them in the pot?
Geraniums actually make rather nice unfussy houseplants if you want to put them in a sunny window. The main thing is not to over water. They hate that. Use your index finger to determine when to water. Push your finger into the pot to just past the first and second bends. If it’s dry to the touch, give them a little drink. They won’t need a lot. I have a geranium that has been living happily in a pot with my Meyer Lemon and a dahlia. They’ve been together for about ten years or so now. Good luck!
Thanks for all the advice you share.
My pleasure!

I also have two large pots of flowering geraniums... can I just put the pots in my unheated greenhouse? should I cover them if there is a frost?
Yes that will be fine just remove any old spent flowers and leaves
