I've been listening to these stories since 1974: one episode every Sunday night at 10pm. I'd tape them on my cassette recorder and listen to them each night until I fell asleep; same as now.☺
Ronald, my mother and my aunt would listen to the stories. We had a radio on the kitchen table, + I was building a car model,,, model or I was watching TV I remember it was on the radio when they were having. coffee...... So growing up being so used to CBS Mystery Theater I began listening to the myself in the early 1970s... They bring back such happy memories. .. I can't thank the people enoug..h that produce these great episodes on RUclips.... So if the People that upload these great episodes,,,, is reading this thank you ever so much.....
Wow I did the same with a Panasonic tape recorder and a small transistor. I started listening to them in 76 though. I liked to listen to them the next day to catch anything I may have missed. But I would 😂 tape over them the next day. I only had a couple cassettes to work with. I was amazed how many times you could tape over.
It's always so obvious when Russel horton voices multiple characters in the same episode. In act 3 I think he's playing the father AND the old lawyer in the same conversation😂
ChillySunshine- Ok. Still, I wish you'd found a copy with the news included. That would have been good too. At any rate, thanks for posting these great shows!
Bill - there's one (sorry, i didn't write down which) that has a short announcement in the middle - Mohammed Ali has just won the heavyweight championship - brought me back. . .
@@feralbluee I heard that one too and I’m trying to remember the actor in it to narrow down to the story but I can’t. Perhaps with Fred Gwynne? If that person listens to enough of these by chillysunshine , I’m sure they’ll hear cbs news.
I'm looking for a specific episode and have no clue of the title....Soooo, does anyone remember the episode with the secretary that saves up for a fur jacket, then makes up a boyfriend that doesn't exist, only we're not supposed to know that. She has fake dates and at the end she "shoots" him and it turns out she would go there alone and pretend she was talking to a guy. It's driving me nuts!!
That sounds so familiar..... There used to be another radio show on around the same time. Sears Radio Theatre, I think it was called. It wasn’t half as good, but may be worth a shot. Good luck!
I just read yours and I do! Just heard it within last 10 days. Please give me the time to ' 'member and/or look it up I nmy history. Promise a reply I k b ow and love that episode
"Very special circumstance" nowadays pretty much means whatever lies a divorcee can dream up to shaft their soon to be ex-spouse, which is what often happens.
Yes! Thankyou Chilly! Giving g up on' edge of stupid' and it's stupid intro. I'm with you all the way now. Keep it! No commercials, put up with them the original broadcast of these wonderful cbsrmt & it's just heavenly to hear them sans the commercials. Or some dumb wannabe intro that 'edge of stupid' insists upon..

Listening to these programs beats ALL the GARBAGE on TV nowadays!!!!!!
That is exactly correct. 👍🏻

One of my favorite. I know so many people like Jack. Greed driven.
Thanks for the radio theater ❤
E G Marshall is the man of mystery theater. Great narrator for the stories.
Wow this is certainly an interesting story so far!! Thank you very much, Chilly!!!❤❤
Haven't I been saying it for ages? Family makes the worst enemies of them all.
Sad but true. Not all members, but the ones you should MOST be able to trust are sometimes those who can betray you the worst.
Thanks for posting these. I just wish you'd left in the CBS News at the very end!
I seldom trim anything out, this went up just the way I found it.

Don't let your in-laws move in with you, LOL. Being a PA Coalcracker is a tough life.
dont slam the door on the way out
Genuinely scary 🙈
Great episode. Listened on November 24, 2022. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
Awesome!

Sounds familiar and I even searched around but just couldn't come up with it........Sorry Violet, maybe someone else can help.
ChillySunshine thx for trying... I've searched every episode I can find on RUclips. Oh well, I've found some really good ones while searching 😊

That sounds like an episode of 'Suspense' I heard on YT a few months ago.....was it Agnes Moorehead?
