TYROS 5 - The new portable Cathedral Organ?

- This instrument continues to amaze me with the quality of its sounds. The 'Organ World' facility with it's variety of samples to suit any music genre really blows my mind! From authentic Hammond jazz sounds right to through to the Church pipe organ and everything in between, any 'organ nut' must be happy with what is included. You can even hear the tracking and almost hear and feel the air moving listening to the pipe organs. Hope you enjoy my little composition!
Play loud but don't turn your sub-woofer up too much! LOL
This is an amazing instrument. It even manages to include the accoustics of a cathedral in it's sound! Nicely played, too!!
Love that melody very lovely.
The Roland D-50 had an amazing Cathedral Organ preset on it. This sounds great too it could be the future when it comes to playing digital organs in church.
I bought my Roland D-50 years ago just to get that cathedral organ. Now I play a Tyros 5.
***** It still sounds great today.
@@morriereece5007 I suppose Y Tyros 5 used Digital voice/sound overlapping effects ,to create Digital /Electronic/Pipe Organ Stops effects, which a usual keyboard circuitry structure would not facilitate.
Superb musician and electronic keyboard that blew my mind.
Wonderful theme on the keyboard
Kevin, thanks. Wonderful playing.
A one-manual keyboard without pedals or stops can never replace an organ.
+Audinos Well, it has "stops" in a sense, but you are totally correct. There's very little of the serious organ literature that can be played on any instrument like this, despite the quite authentic sounds. (By the way, you can add a MIDI pedal board, although not 32-note AGO). But for many churches, a full instrument, even digital, is too expensive, and very often a real organist is not available. So this allows someone with average keyboard skills to accompany hymns and provide "incidental" music that sounds convincing. Much better than an old harmonium and more versatile than a piano (which it is also for that matter).!
@Bryan: I wouldn’t say “someone with average keyboard skills”, since you either have the chops to play in the style of a pipe organ or you don’t. Pipe organ control skill and knowledge (for lack of a better way to describe it) is more what you are talking about IMO. I can play in that style to an extent, but having watched videos of real pipe organ playing would admit I would have no idea which controls to use to conjure up the voices. I am looking at dual manual organs that can control a pedalboard, such as the Nord C2D and the Hammond SK3. I’m just not sure if they have more than a few novelty pipe sounds though.
I'm really wanting it to be possible. At my church, the Keyboardist plays like rock star pianist. cos we use a one manual yamaha (funds etc). I want to convince him that it is possible to make it more "churchy" like a real pipe organ. Please tell me a way.
Sound really good thou!!!!!
Yes but just think of the space you save. All those darn pipes.
such a beautiful sound.
this is such a great portableorgan.it sounds just like the big ones in the theaters and churches. also any organist like me would be proud to own one.sincerely lowreyorganist
As you say kevin, a truly remarkable instrument. It makes one wonder what the great composers and musicians of old, would make of today's technology. Superbly played as always.
Graham Peaple when I think back to the first keyboard I had in a band...a crumar roadrunner piano with about 2 sounds...makes me feel my age and a musician of old! LOL....thanks for the comment Graham...
@@stratshadow Well the piano has one 'sound'...... and look at the repertoire.....
Sound like Hephaestus - Italian Concert Organ for Kontakt.
That was haunting and quite beautiful. Can you please tell me the name of the composer and piece? Kindest regards and thank you.
Great sounds...well done! Greetings Danny
DannyKey Thanks for your comment Danny...best wishes
Stratshadow, I pray you, play the Phantom of the Opera overture on organ.
P.s Beautiful performance 😊😊😊
Tyros 5 is the best for Organ sounds !
Very nice sound & Playing
Shit. Love this melody. Cannot stop playin it
Whats The Name Of That Piece? Would Love To Buy A Copy Of It
Hi Paul....I just improvised the music....take care...
wow ! that's some improvisation 🙂
Well done, great sound.
Love it. Can you share the music sheet, or at least title of songs??
That was great and inspiring. I'll have to try it on my Yamaha. Thanks. I enjoyed your piece very much. Marvin W. San Diego
I envy your talent.
soolan11 thanks for your kind words.....best wishes
Can you post the sheet music (leadsheet if possible) or midi file; I think this is a very good learning example for using Organ World. Thanks.
Hi Kevin,
Are you an organist and guitar player?Sounds impressive.
Thank you for the music.
So what’s the model of this piano ? I would like to get my hands on one of theses !
It’s a Yamaha tyros 5. I am selling one.
This is included with instrument or is expansion pack?
Nice
This is awesome! How is it that literally none of the voices in this video are on the PSR-SX600 or even the SX700? Yamaha really needs to start putting actually good voices on models like the ones I just mentioned. I mean, the COncertGuitar is good, but not as good as this.
Organ world was only ever on Tyros 5, why Yamaha did not continue it is crazy.
That is why I still have my Tyros 5.
@@andy70d35 While the Organ World section was only on Tyros5, the voices from that section have been moved to the regular Organ category on the Genos 1 and 2.
This video has a major fault. It's at least 6 hours too short. Great piece of kit and your improvisation really shows it off well
Hi'a, yes the Tyros 5 has a great organ world, that sounded very good what you did there, Roger :)
Is this great pipe organ sound available as an expansion for the MODX series?
THISIS SUCCH
What’s the name of the musical piece being played?
He improvised it.
Such a shame that Tyros series doesn't come in 88 keys
or at least 76
@@jrzzrj actually Tyros 5 comes in 76 keys. Genos is supposedly Tyros 6 but even that model doesnt come in 88 keys (just 76)
I can pay for this music sheet... plase!!!!! I tried to play by ear, yo hard for meeee!!!
Do the likes of Yamaha just stand next to a pipe organ and sample every note and setting? On the D-50 it was just very tiny samples then the rest cpu generated.
Very nice, I love church organ sounds.
And you play very well, I'd like to be able to play like you, I'm indeed not used to play with 2 hands 😉
what is the name of the second piece played here? It is wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
I made up and improvised the music here....so it has no name!
No wayyyyy!!!!
show de bola !
Awesoe..
The attacks sound wrong, as if the samples were snipped too late, after the wind entered the pipes. It makes it sound almost synthesized. I just listened to the PSR-S950 before this, and that sounds like a true pipe organ.
I don't agree, I was a church organist for many years back in the UK and played many organs big and small and they were all very different as far as the attack goes. There are so many variables. It certainly does not sound synthesized to my ears either. I'm sure there are many better samples knocking around, but you certainly can't say that the T5 ones are not realistic....
No, I wouldn’t go so far as to say the tones themselves are synthesized; they sound like they were sampled from real instruments. I just don’t hear the “puffing” of the flues. The attacks sound like something more typical of a harmonium. But they’re not reeds; they’re flues.
Will my Motif ES6 makes these big cathedral Organ sounds?
non bad my favorite roland c 200 classic organ sound, digital keyboard roland,,,,,,,,,,,,,,rooger serien??????,,,,,,
qual o nome dessa musica ?
sKVĚLÉ "HLASY".... DÍKY!
Cheesy puff organ
It sounds like what it is, an electronic keyboard.
We are talking about hi res samples here, so it's way past sounding like an electronic keyboard! Maybe you can explain why you think that???
Hauptwerk.com game over.
Hephaestus Sounds | ITALIAN CONCERT ORGAN Plz.
parshuramkumar26
A bit pricey at $6000 CAN
kjv444 sure to be a big secondhand market soon.......regards
+Ken444 I bought a Tyros 5-76 a year ago to replace my dying Technics KN7000 and I think it is worth every cent.I'm not disappointed.
Are you serious? An organ?
This is using sounds sampled from a real German cathedral organ. It's pretty obvious that the T5 is a keyboard and not an organ isn't it lol? The sampled sounds though are very realistic. By the way I was a church organist in the past.
The you tube page is loaded with the word "organ" not keyboard (lol):Roland C-200 Classic Organ, "Church organ expansion pack, classical organ pack...organ, organ. Leaving the naïve with the impression thatwhat you are selling IS INDEED an organ, not a keyboard, though it looks like one. The Casio Celviano billed its 88-weighted keys, 3 pedals etc a pianoand mentioned that its sampled sounds were from a Steinway concert grand. It sounds, however, like a very inexpensive student spinet. My comment referred to its sound--are you serious... an organ? Not its looks!
Sorry I don't get you....The sound IS of an organ.....It is a sampled sound and sampled very well indeed. Do you understand how instruments are sampled nowadays and in what resolution? Even modern instruments that look and function like 'The real thing' are using digital samples which are highly life like just the Tyros 5 organ samples!
@@robertpoetprince7362it’s been 5 years - are you still dumb?
Wow. Can i have a copy of the amazing piece. I love the church organ sound
You are the reason I decided on a Tyros, Thank You 2:42
Hi
Great sounds this organs.... you beautiful played, nice show...regards Daro
Daro72 Thanks for your nice comment....take care..
Wow! His sound and technique are impressive! Congratulations!!!
Been reading up the pipe organ and all it's "stop". Now is it possible to simulate all those numerous stops of the pipe organ on the tyros? Is there a way for you to switch over from one sound to the next like the pipe organist would do (they do this
quite swiftly)?
This instrument is almost useless as a church organ. How could one possibly play anthems and organ literature requiring an independent pedal division and two or more independent manuals? I wonder how many of the people commenting attended college and graduate school as organ majors? There is so much more to organ performance than pressing down keys.
👍....Wow...Incredible sound for a keyboard. Do those voicings come preloaded in that Tyros 5 model? I want one!
Yes, those sounds are built in!
@@stratshadow In my on-line research, I see one of the features is MIDI in/out.... a very important feature for my musical musings. Can you imagine linking up one of Hauptwerks organs and various celestes?
Song Name? plz!
Parangaricutirimicuaro
GREAT PLAYED !! super sounds . Thumb up !!!!!!!!
Denise
Whoa
For the first time ever, seeing such a great one
Loved it honestly 0:59
Nice but play legato in organ style not piano ... also with the 16' sound on be careful of close intervals in the bass..
Hi Kevin
That sound would not go amiss in the Albert Hall my friend.
So,so impressive.
Cheers
Geoff.
geoffers47 Thanks for listening Geoff. It really is an inspiring sound......take care...
Was this recorded from acoustical speakers or 'straight-through' ? Unfortunately am listening through laptop's tiny speakers without benefit of woofer.
Use headphones... You will be amazed... POWWERFULL MASTER PIECE
That ist so wonderful ❤️
My sub-woofer is dead now :-)
Hmm. I have immersed myself in listening to pipe organ music for the Hauptwerk digital pipe organ thing. Most pipe organ music that i have found is kind of stuffy and often downright dissonant. Your piece played here is unusually fresh and strident. Let me know if you ever transcribe this music.
Have you tried mixing some of Hauptwerk organs and/or various celeste voicings? The combinations are endless .
The range of sounds is almost endless when considering different organs around the world. The "Tyros effect" has added to that maze of sounds. The problem now is the computer savvy and cost$$ quotient added to the proprietary nature of the organ samples. I don't object to either. Progress is not cheap.
Sounds great! :)
How did you set it
I think its great and improvised at that. It would make a Christian Church very proud to have a new song with beautiful music like that. Think about it. Hey, it just might earn you a few more feathers for your wings you know where.
Perhaps with 3 keyboards and sound bank, for playing Cesar Franck' s "Piece Heroique " with digital pipe organ samples ?
i love it !
EL90 da Yamaha é muito mais REALISTA ....Pipe Organ , cathedral is amazing!!!!
Its amazing how the technology has evolved I have a Ketron Audya advanced music station and church organ is so well digitazed in it that you could not tell the difference
Where to learn to play these type of music? Is it difficult? Thanks a lot!
theses keyboards are expensive
Yes, but can get the samples for kontakt in low price♡
Very nice
Extraordinaire .Super le Tyros 5 meilleur que le genos
Tyros5 ist schon ein Hammer keyboard...
Does it as foot notes
Do you mean does it have pedals?
With MIDI interface, we may trigging an authentic acoustical pipe organ with digital combinator and MIDI interface.
How?
Hi! The sound is so fascinating! Can i know the combination of ypur drawbars? I really appreciate it!
These sound like samples from pre-set registrations on true pipe organ(s). Not anything that can be emulated with Hammond-like drawbars.
Very nice.
500th like. Grow on
Keren sekali...
or maybe it is just one composition, anyone know the name? Thanks
It's just something he improvised.
This sound gets my vote
brilliant performance
igohi
Wow, if I weren't paying attention, I would think that I was watching a video from the Scottbrothersduo... How amazing is the sound and how wonderful is your playing-style and technique! Is this your own composition, because it kind of reminds me of Haendel's passacaglia... Anyway, not only a great demonstration of the instrument, but of your playing as wel!!
whats the piece tittle? i love it
Something he improvised
