Bruhh Anno Un/Akira is a self-insert of the mangaka in every sense of the term...just found out today. He shared in an interview that while he was working on a manga manuscript (not UU), his mom unfortunately passed away and he really wanted her to read it💔💔
@@ace0135Araki denies that Rohan Kishibe is a self insert, but it really seems that ways. Rohan is OP, but never really "wins" for the progression of the story.
Akira Kuno has one of- if not the most messed up negator ability. While Andy and Victor will outlive all and everyone they are still able to interact with the others around them, have romance or simply spend time with friends, Akira lost all of those possibilities as a *kid*. Just the fact than he was able to push on and still have some hope to live shows how strong he really is. Mad respect.
Akira's Negator ability is UNKNOWN (the name "Anno Un" was created based on the Japanese pronunciation of the English word unknown as well), and because it's compulsory activation he just automatically cannot be perceived. Your theory on why he can be seen is incorrect, but kind of close. His pen is special because it's an artifact like Rip's legs, so just keep in mind that when he was a kid the only things he did that could be seen were things he made with the pen.
i mean no real point in telling them that since Akira's negator ability is gonna get properly revealed next episode. I know it was ""hinted"" at in this episode but they'll literally find out later as well as why Akira can talk to Fuuko and Andy...
Confirmation here, yes the alternate identity is how he's able to interact with people. To add, it seem like the extent the power work is that anything that can be conceptually connected to "Akira Kuno" will be negated so something like writing to his mom under the new identity saying "your son is alive" is a no go. The individual called "Akira Kuno" is wiped out from existence from the moment he got the negation.
It will probably be made clear next episode, but Akira Kuno did more than just pretend to be someone else because his ability is way more cursed than it lets on. As a kid the stranger he ran into didn’t know his identity but his existence still got negated. Once his ability kicked in nothing that ties him to that identity could be perceived by anyone. No sight, sound, touch or even written messages. It’s why his mom was sitting by his drawings but unable to see them. The loophole he found ages later was that his one shot manga being penned under an anonymous author could still be read and wasn’t negated because it couldn’t be tied back to him.
Having read ahead, pretty much all their assumptions will be cleared up. The trio isn't far off from their guess. Best thing about this series is these abilities are so based on the character's perceptions of what the "rules" of their abilities are that they can inherently limit themselves (Fuuko's Unluck, Andy's ability to Regen from anywhere and not just his head)
[Spoiler] So the deal with Anno/Akira's negation is that... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Akira Kuno is Unknown - any result that would lead to him being "known" is negated, that why he phases through people, can't be seen or heard and why it also extends to his clothes and items hes holding like his drawings but he doesn't just fall through the floor. Any contact would still lead to being known, even if they didn't know who he was; ie the first guy he phased through wouldn't know who this random alley kid was. Its not as simple as "not existing", Nico could notice the missing encyclopedia at Union HQ and that lady at Shueisha commented on how erasers keep running out. If it wouldn't lead to Akira being known its unaffected, thus why the one-shot he submitted was perceptible: Anno isn't Akira. As to how he is being seen right now, its not as simple as "go by an alias and wear a mask" - take much closer stock of what exactly happens when he loses his other arm (about 8:47 in this vid) and what happens after his Volcano Bullet in ep 20. But yeah its a bit confusing, the manga literally has a step-by-step page of narration so its clear.
Akira Kuno is Unknown, any knowledge of his existence is nullified. Only when negators change their interpretations and think outside the box can they alter the rules and find loopholes in them! Interpretation is the key to a negator’s power! Andy would’ve ran into trouble giving Yusai the heir she wanted…
12:16 You are close, technically yes. Akira has to change their entire identity, because the slightest thing that points to Akira Kuno will become Unknown(Same reason why his mama couldn’t see the manga pages on the ground when she was sobbing), but the next episode will explain everything fully so I wouldn’t say anything more.
Couldn't have said it better myself. This series hasn't gotten a ton of hype and apparently isn't bonkers in Japan sales wise, but I really like the story and characters. Having read several arcs ahead in the manga since this episode, it only gets crazier.
Something they missed out from the manga is this Akira's negator ability (Unknown) was actually implemented as a kind of restriction by god for picking up the G-Liner. Since knowing the entire future would be far too powerful, God made it so that anyone who touches the pen gain's unknown. And to answer the question of how they can be seen. Since Anno-Un is a separate Identity from Akira that's why they can be seen, (There's a bit more to it in the Manga but they may explain it next episode.)
Negator UNKNOWN which translated is Anno Un. AKA a self insert of the mangaka. The ability negates them from being known. No one forgot about about them, but their very existance could not be perceieved, which is why people would phase through him. So using the pen name Anno Un they were able to cheat the rule to exist again and be able to make a manga of the events of the current loop (minus in-universe important spoliers to make sure characters didn't alter the timeline) to guide Fuuko to this moment, as the future they knew was that Fuuko was supposed to be killed by Unseen. Now that her death has been prevented a new future is born. The artifact (the pen) that they found as a child was the only way they can have something be perceived in reality before figuring out they needed to change identities to interact with the world again. RIP authors IRL mother who never got to read the story that they were writing before passing away, which was portrayed here.
Y’all missed it but the name of the negator ability was right in your face. When he was creating anno Un, it had (UN) and (KNOWN). Plus if you sound it out it’s literally unknown
@12:00 the ability was given to us, Unknown. ANYTHING that has "un-" in it and is said in reference to people over and over, just assume that's the ability. As for the changing themselves, yea, thats part of the loophole but not all of it. Don't forget, Akira snuck up on Andy and Fuuko and sat RIGHT between them without them even noticing while being Anno. So it's multilayered
Akira isnt't altering the future by writing stories. He's basically recording them in hopes that the "cast" will be able to read them and gain enough hints to survive the future/find him.
Anno Un’s ability makes it to where he cannot be perceived in anyway by anyone, so he used the pen, which is an artifact to draw a body double which he uses to interact with people. It is a very depressing ability.
Y'all are on the right track with the perception, but not quite there. It took me reading ahead in the manga to grasp it. Because of his ability, Akira (Anno Un) could no longer be perceived at all. Only whatever they drew with the pen could be perceived, hence why the manga could be perceived and submitted. They've literally left the last episode to fill in the rest so I don't need to explain further. If you notice, they could never just take a regular pen and write the manga otherwise it wouldn't have been seen. This mangaka's power system is pretty creative in terms of how they use it.
Anno Un is the negator Unknown. His ability works on himself, and he negates the ability to be known by others. From here on out, this is spoilers, so don't read it if you aren't interested. . . . . The blonde chick you see was drawn into existence with the pen, and the true body of Anno Un still cannot be seen by others. But like the manga, the body of the blonde chick is connected to the original name/existence of Anno Un and therefore can be interacted with like the manga he wrote.
Hopefully we get a S2. The series isn't exactly a top selling one in Japan and it hasn't corresponded to greater sales like most series do, so it might be up in the air. And the main point of anime is often to drive manga sales. Like sales for Frieren have absolutely sky rocketed since the anime debuted. If we got a second cour, I imagine it'd probably cover summer and spring. I'd love to though, bc outside of some recap and pacing stuff (plus the awkward re-edit of the Fuuko gun scene at the SJ office) I've really liked this series.
(NO SPOILERS) Extremely nit picky of me to point this out, but at 7:53, they censored Nico a bit as he was drinking his pain away and was holding a wine bottle. Only reason I even care abt that is b/c it's one of the only panels I remember from the manga that I read years ago because of how viscerally real it was and how it showed the depravity that bro was falling into.
Bro Akira's Backstory was so messed up. Imagine suddenly no one can perceive you in any way & you have to watch your mom losing her mind over you being gone while you're right there.
so i read the manga but i genuinely dont remember anno un's negator power. This may contain spoilers but i didnt mean for it to be. From what is presented in this episode I'd say they are the negator Un-Known. They were cursed with the knowledge of the entire loop so they became the self compulsory negator Un-Known. No one knows of their existence from that point forward. They can interact with objects but when they are moved people dont notice them until they are out of their possession and then they just think thats where it was. Notes obviously didnt work because they were proof of their existence. Sending the manga under a pseudonym means that no one would know it was actually them but think its this other person and so they found a loophole in their rules.
Unknown is one of the saddest negator abilities because it doesn't really even help him out at all. all it does is completely erase any and all traces of "Akira Kuno" as a person. only by using an alias could he be "known" regardless, he used the chance that God gave him and wrote his memories of the future in such a way that led Fuko and Andy to the right place at the right time, and he changed the course of the timeline. from here on out, NOBODY knows what will happen! AND IT'S TIME TO FIGHT AUTUMN WITH OUR NEW POWER-UPS BABY!!!
you guys are completely wrong. if you guys are wondering why we can see anno/akira, itll probably be explained next episode. as to why we can't see him, he has the ability unknown which makes his existence unknown
Bruh, you guys keep calling Akira a girl when the show has already said multiple times now that they're a guy. When are y'all gonna learn that just because the VA is female, doesn't mean the character is female?
Well none of this is a spoiler since the name was dropped here and the rest you can extrapolate from the episode itself. Akira's ability is Unknown. No one can see, hear, touch or otherwise interact with him or anything he makes. At all. Period. He's basically a ghost as far as the world is concerned (that also means his mom couldn't even see the all the sketches on his room's floor). However, this is all strictly tied to his identity as "Akira Kuno." If he operates under a pseudonym, pen name, alias, etc. he can get around this rule, hence why his manga was recognized in the first place. The catch is that if you can manage to tie anything he makes back to "Akira Kuno," said thing gets negated through Unknown rendering it as invisible as he is. As for how everyone could see him up 'til this point... well, that'll most likely be explained next episode. BTW, the way Akira gets Unknown is a special case in terms of how Negator abilities manifest, but that's also not really expanded upon until later.
I will miss this series once it ends on Friday.. for real.. the whole season went SO FAST for this show.. Maybe because of all these flashbacks? lol In any case, hope there'll be a season 2, and I think there will be (tryna be optimistic).

Honestly worse than parents' death. You're there with your mom, calling for her but she can't see and hear you... And years go by, she gets old, having no idea where is her son, if he's dead or alive. Saddest backstory for me by now.
First of all Akira is a dude, second they give you a clue of his negation name when come up with his artist name, third the reason why they are able to see him is different than the one you think but just to give you a clue, his g-pen can create ANYTHING
Oh, so he created a clone of himself to interact with them and was taking all the damage. So the real one is still unharmed and invisible around there😅

Here's a question for anime only from out the four dudes the showed in akira flashback (Shen Billy top and Nico) who do you think has been through worst because of his negation ability and/or the tragedy that happened to them? Because one is very very messed up

I will miss this series once it ends on Friday.. for real.. the whole season went SO FAST for this show.. Maybe because of all these flashbacks? lol
In any case, hope there'll be a season 2, and I think there will be (tryna be optimistic).
Yk I basically just sit on my phone waiting for the notification to pop up on my phone. Also you guys should react to damsel I feel like you guys would love it but roast the hell out of it like in korra❤❤
3:40 Akira is like Ymir now that I think about it.🤔
10:35 Ma’am. Her unluck had already evolved so the bunny is gonna make it.
The real artifact here was the mf crocs
Bruh imagine being Akira. Watching your mama melt away as a person because she has lost you. All the while you're right there watching but unable to communicate that to her. So damn sad. Imagine that happening to you. That might just be the closest thing to straight up hell I've ever seen.
So the real one is still unharmed and invisible around there😅
@@jewelabyss spoiler alert:
Yep basically that but if his clone dies and they take his pen, then he has no way to comunicate to others
@manuelvfc6254 I guess he can only communicate with that pen? He can't with any other pen?
I don't know if they said that that artifact is his only way to comunicate, but without it he was no way to interact with other living beings fisically Even if they don't know who he is@@jewelabyss
@@jewelabyssNo since an artifact runs on different rules
Akira have g-liner pen and soul caliber. Thats what made anno un exist. Make it make sense 😅
Everything will make sense next episode. The author is goated when it comes to world-building and foreshadowing/callbacks.
Anno Un is my goat🔥
Here's a question for anime only from out the four dudes the showed in akira flashback (Shen Billy top and Nico) who do you think has been through worst because of his negation ability and/or the tragedy that happened to them? Because one is very very messed up
I dont think this is a question anime onlys can answer since the anime hasnt covered any if them😅. This is only a question you can ask manga readers cause they would know to be able to have an opinion
@@SpectreBagelsi just want to know which one they would Say without knowing, just guessing. Cause i know most manga readers have a very obvious answer on who has been through worst
Well basing off other animes I would assume it was billy seeing as how he is kinda like an antagonist rn. But imma go with nico because of the expression on his face. I kinda feel like billy would be too obvious for this question
@@manuelvfc6254 Obvious? Who do you mean? Can you tell me in a Spoiler comment. You could just say its a Spoiler and then tab far down and then type it out if you want
@@SpectreBagels spoiler alert:
Nico, and his negation is
Unforgettable
Maybe anno un ability is unknown
I think only negators can see him, cos that's the only people we've seen interact with him
My theory is that his ability is his name (unknown) cus as soon as he picked up that pen he was wiped out of existence. He became unknown to everyone. He changed his whole identity that’s why specific people can know about that identity but if he tells them his real identity he will cease to exist to them
Fun Fact 05:42 "To You, From Me" is a real manga with a anime adaptation of it's own with the same character design shown in this story
Aren't thry going to react the last 3 episode of zom 100?
Fuko was hella dumb this episode 😂

anno un[ unknown]
You guys figured out the negator ability you just didn't figure out the name. Which is hilarious because you said th verb for it like 300 times. It'll be officially revealed next episode
i hope they will reacting to dungeon meshi such a great anime but no one talk about it😢
Anno Un is a dude.
Trunks?? No, not yet
Unknown has to be top 5 shittiest negator abilities along eith Unluck.
Spoilers
The other 3 would be Untell, Unsleep, and Unhealthy.
Straight up garbage and require a lot of concept lawyering to be even remotely useful.
these abilities are trash, like i untouchable, unknown, unluck - i couldn't imagine having these abilities
Are there plans to watch Shogun?
They're watching it on patreon so it will mostly come to RUclips
Biggest spoiler blocker I've ever seen. Bro learned the plot and lost the ability to interact with the world.
❤
Don’t spoil guyss
don't let twitter see this reaction, Roshi and gang gonna get cancelled for misgendering the narrator of the story so many times🤣💀
It's a dude right?
Me: Sees character clearly meant to be an Enby.
Subtitles: Uses they/them pronouns to refer to the character.
Me: "No way. A nonbinary character who's gender noncomformity isn't erased by localiza-"
Subtitles: "Him"
Me: "GOD DAMN IT!"
