So am I and I am so saddened but not surprised, of how you possibly grew up, to justify yourself even if you didn't but the elders did, by all the lies that protestants knowingly or unknowingly, spread to confirm you in your belief. I am Catholic and I love our origins, the history I mean, and so could never really reneg the faith based on the origins too. I love even the story of St. Paul's conversion, and when you read his letters, you know what he went through to not only go from being a rabid anti-christian Jew, to a defender of the faith. He's like my modern day hero. And, then I recall having visited the Cathedral built in his honour outside the walls of Rome. Too much history to become anything else! Amen

What is a so called non denominational other than a so called denomination! You were lied to because ONLY Catholic’s loyal to the infallible Magisterium are true Christian’s. Protestant’s belong to 40,000+ man made CULTS which are Pagan and anti Christ. The Bible is a Catholic book the protestant Bible is an incomplete and corrupted Catholic book for proof watch Steve Ray’s excellent testimony! Also watch Don’t call protestant’s Christian! The Papacy can NOT be destroyed. Following padre Pio. In the footsteps of padre Pio. The warning or illumination of conscience by Christine Watkins. And the latest excellent video from Queen of Peace media. Also protestantism is an abomination in the sight of God because protestant’s put their own false interpretation on sacred scripture which is blasphemous and they pick and choose what to believe and what to reject which is of Satan. There’s NO salvation outside the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church founded by God himself two thousand year’s ago because it’s the ONLY CHURCH THERE IS. There’s ONLY ONE baptism because there’s ONLY ONE CHURCH. Protestant so called churches DON’T EXIST! And as St. Louis de Montfort rightly said there’s NO salvation without devotion to Mary please read True Devotion to Mary by St. Louis de Montfort. I confront protestant’s and fundamentalists by saying if you truly love Jesus then imitate him by loving his beautiful and Immaculate mum Mary who was give to us from Jesus when he was on the Cross to be our spiritual mum! God bless. Praise Jesus and Mary always!!!

When i announced my conversion to my very Southern Baptist mother, her response was that she’d rather me be a deeply devout Catholic than a lukewarm Baptist and the rest of my baptist family expressed similar feelings. This was because of the broad mindedness their Southern Baptist pastor pastor impressed upon them in regards to Catholics and other Christians. He was also a pioneer in the civil rights movement among white southern Baptist leaders.
He led First Baptist Church in Florence, SC from 1943 thru 1981 and he was well ahead of his time. He taught them that despite some disagreements Catholics and Orthodox still loved and served the same Lord and that they had a duty to support the Catholic Church in all areas where they found agreement. He also aggressively pushed for his congregation to reach out to and welcome black Christians in the worst part of the Jim Crow race riots. The two churches were neighboring parishes for many years and in 1970 when the Catholic parish burned down, he and everyone at the church that day personally joined horses with the Catholics, Episcopalians, and Methodists on the block to rush into the blazing church to get as many of the statues, altars, and other sacred objects out as possible befor the fire consumed them. He even told his congregation “our Catholic brothers and sisters need our help now” and offered full use of their facilities for all their masses and other church functions until they could replace their parish building.

He has a class between the Sunday morning Masses that are helping so many of us grow in our Faith. They were guests of Marcus Groti on the Journey Home. Their journey to the Church was 10 years long. Such a blessing to us. Then one evening, I happened upon Mother Angelica praying the Rosary on EWTN. I thought, "Who's this fat lady?". But then I thought that I should try this prayer. That was five years ago. I have prayed the rosary everyday since then. The Catholic Church was downloaded into my soul like a zip file the first few times I prayed the Rosary. But when my father got critically sick at a turning point in my life, I was disillusioned. I felt that I was being good and our family don't deserve this suffering. I rebelled. But I was brought back to Jesus by Christians. They opened my eyes to a lot of questions. What they say made so much sense. Now, I'm confused. I am a convert from Episcopalian faith. I never really knew any Catholics growing up in the south, and was taught to think they were super weird and not Christian. Never even heard of the Virgin Mary... Honestly, I believe our Protestant bros and sisters will be instrumental in helping to rebuild our Church as they have such a deep and personal relationship with Christ. It's so excititng!!!

My wife now deceased was Episcopalian but converted to become Catholic so she could receive Holy Communion with me. We used to say the rosary together every day. I am a convert and I can tell you it is not easy to humble yourself, but when God calls you should listen. My own Fundamentalist family loves God so much that when I came to them and told them I have been called to be a Catholic... I knew almost no one who was Catholic. I disagreed with many theological points of the Catholic Church, but my love of Jesus was so great that when God called me, actually told me to be Catholic, I was blown away. I argued with God, I can't. You don't see my life? Who I am? The problems with that? My life is messy. God said, I have been trying a long time to tell you this, to be Catholic. Well I thought I would get stiff resistance and even rejection from my Fundamentalist family, but I am the kind of person that listens to God because of them. My aged uncle merely looked at me and said if God has called you then that is what you must do. Talk about faith; he really meant that. His faith was so great that even though he could not understand he knew I must respond. The acceptance of my Protestant family of my conversion had a big impact on many of them; they knew something good was happening to me. I am so, so very grateful to be Catholic. I find I am always learning something new. I am so humbled by it all. I found a deeper, truer more authentic and consistent philosophy of faith in the Catholic church. I love her, the Church, I will never be separated from Her and the Holy and True Communion; I would love all to come to the Catholic Church and see. Thank you Most Holy Trinity and my mother Mary.

A friend of mine journeyed into the Catholic Church via the Baptist faith tradition. Her Presbyterian husband could not understand her obsession. He invited the local Baptist pastor to their home to talk some sense into her. Instead of dissuading her from looking into the Catholic Church it actually energized her efforts. After that, her husband said he would support her but at the same time, he informed her (in no uncertain terms) that he would NOT be following her into the Catholic Church. Five years later he also came into full communion with the Catholic Church.

I think it means that we are persecuted and mocked by some, of other faiths, for the very foundation of our Faith: the True Presence of Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament. The Blessed Virgin Mary, His Mother, teaches us and draws us to Him, and is Joy personified.
This Faith, and our response to Mother Mary's call, can be, to say the very least, difficult to share with our brothers and sisters who have not yet come to share in the fullness of the Faith. We are persecuted and shunned as we seek to introduce others to Mary. Some Catholics do, indeed, know and understand the Reward for spreading the One, True Faith. Other Catholics, enduring the mockery and rejection which often comes with their efforts, may feel discouraged, which could certainly be a heavy cross to bear. They do not yet know that the deep agony of this cross will be relieved when they witness the joy of those who come to believe, helped by their efforts. Please pray for them!

As a revert, it took me decades to re-discover my Catholic faith. For decades I moved from one protestant church to another seeking more truth. I spent time with the pentacostals, charismatics, assemblies, grace, and even a short time with the baptists. The more I studied the many different doctrines across the protestant landscape, the more I found myself discovering the truth in the Catholic church. Thank you for sharing this!

Fellow Southerner who converted from Methodism to Catholicism with my young family. It's been such a wonderful and fulfilling journey. Love hearing this accent, ha. Feels like home!

Methodists are inherently decent people. It's been sad watching the denomination basically collapse. The confusion and outright heresy that came to dominate my local UMC congregations really was demoralizing. Perhaps more will venture back to our true roots in Catholicism. All glory to God.

The second he started talking about the Consecration to Mary I saved the video and knew I'd watch it again 10 times.

Absolutely beautiful story. Your point that Mary also says “This is my body, given up for You, Jesus.” Wow! Stunning. I’ve never heard that. Thank you so much. God bless.

I love these stories. I’m thinking about “why?” they are so important and intriguing. One thing that comes to mind is when he was talking about receiving grace. So beautiful and so true. I’ve been so stuck on Paul’s saying about “it’s no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me”…it’s like a Christ takeover, but only when you can totally submit. Words can’t even describe that because it sounds almost fake. Grace…just outstanding.

I love GabiAfterHours and TrueFaithTalks/ TrueFaithTV! I listened to that episode of his podcast (Children of Mary podcast) and when I saw that Matt's episode is about a Methodist Pastor converting to Catholicism, I thought "Could this be the same pastor that Gabi referred to? The same one who got him some equipment for his podcast?" Amazing!

Excellent interview Matt; how wonderful to hear the grace of God continually urging step by step regardless of doubts to embrace Jesus completely.

Wow, great show! I’ve been Catholic all my life-I’ve definitely grown and appreciate my Faith much more in my later years. This video gave me such a perspective on Protestants that I’ve never been able to understand. I’ve never been able to understand how one can stay out in something that isn’t truth. I think this is a gift our Lord has given me to soften myself a bit when it comes to evangelizing. God bless!
