Thank you for this video. I've been trying to work out the wiper motor on my AUS built Morris Marina and finding info has been tough. I'll be able to get the motor working now.
Thank you for the prompt reply. My car is a 1972 Clubman and has no plug on the wiper motor, just 4 coloured wires with spade connectors. The wire colours are not Lucas standard so having taken the switch out i don't know which is fast, slow, park etc. I have also found the switch is only working on 2 terminals. Minikingdom notes the contact plate as out of stock and it does not seem to be listed with minisport. Fortunately the old one is more or less usable. When I took the wiper motor out it seemed in much better condition than the one you had in the video. When opened I was surprised to find the parking plate badly corroded but I have been able to order a new one. I found this video most helpful, indeed the only one on the Lucas 12AUW, simillary your shoot on the 1 1/4 SU was also very worthwhile.
excellent and very informative video. I'm assembling a 1936 Ford that was hot rodded in the 70s. It was fitted with one of these motors but the wiring was missing. I can make it all work again with your description of the terminal functions. Thank you.
Can you use a 3 pin switch? The one I have seems to be a little odd. When off (position1), all pins are open. Centre position, pins 1 & 2 close. Position 3, all pins closed - shorted together. Will this work? Where would I connect the park terminal on the wiper motor in this case?
A most helpful video. Which mini supplier is likely to have the contact terminals? And how does one work out which switch wire goes to which terminal on the wiper motor? The Gregory's manual is of little help and the workshop manual for UK production.
I purchased the spare parts from either minisport.com.au or minikingdomonline.com.au, can't remember which one. The wiring diagram is in the video, the terminal only goes on one way. The wire colours on the new terminal should be the same as the old one.

Where can you get Belleville washers
What paint did you use for the gold colour ? Thanks again
It is not paint, the metal parts were zinc plated and passivated with gold chromate.
Perfect, thought as much but wasn’t sure if it would damage the magnets. Rebuilding one at the moment.
You fitted the c clip the wrong way around the horse shoe goes to the back
Thanks Timothy, I will switch them around.
