Can't wait for pond update #2!!
Looks great! Fish are beautifully colored up. Looking forward to update 2!
Looking good! I am ready for update # 2 already LOL
Chuck a load of Elodea in there, natures way to balance and help keep the water clear 🙂
That’s a cool pond! And great filtering
The UV must be located at the exit of the filter not at the entrance because the
Large particles will be deposited on the lamp support and reduce efficiency. Best wishes from Belgium. ^_^
True.
Make sure the pumps are as far away from the points the water returns to the pond..maximise flow/circulation…can’t wait for part 2 👍👍
From using uv in many ponds it will certainly help to clear up the pond on the size of the pond I would say your not overly stocked
Like you, I am no pond expert... But the water looks stagnant. You tried putting an airstone in there? I'm sure that would help.
@@Stavrosmct lots of water movement, definitely not stagnant!
Try putting in some barley straw may well help cheaper than running a filter 😅
@@grahamsmith9824 already have some in there, forgot to mention!
Clarity will come with bigger bog filter. Only con with a bog is size needed. At least 30% of pond volume I think. So 1000g pond would need at least 300g bog. Living things like fish require more from the bog hence the size needed of 30%.
judging by the person who sold you the filter box i would change the bulb as uv is only peaked withing first 6 months of use great pond
@@noahsreef2416 yep, first thing I did was put a new bulb in!
I think the problem with the barel is that you have the water coming out the bottom which will mean it's not really doing much filtering. That type of filter should fill from bottom and spill out from the top.
2:07 - It does fill from the bottom and empty from the top
Do you have anything you can use as a type of "booster" filter to make it easier for you to clean the filter itself? The biggest indicator for me that you're having too much gunk going through the filter is the sponge on the output pipe. Basically, I struggle with the exact same thing on my own filter.
Ponsguru has new, WAY thicker sheet foams for ponds. I would use those in a rectangular bin or sub-barrel and bury it. Use it as a massive prefilter and treat the barrel as your media bed only.
Love your colorful fish watching from glecious tv your new friend
DIY shower filter all day long for this one, and as others have said you will need more powerful UV filtration for the amount of direct sun the pond gets.
You do the best thing with your pond... It's nice... Watching from glecious tv your new friend
The fish are colored up really nice
Put a couple of perch in there.
It looks better on camera than you gave it credit for
That last shot with the fish you could see plenty of fish
Fine filter floss might help (not sure what you put in the 2nd fter?)
Nice one ... loved the salmon pink camo look ..lol I'm guessing goldfish aren't like some other fish after a while they control there own population
@@brianhaig1971 If they do, they're doing a terrible job!
@@AquariumAdventuresI dont know what you guys have available over there or if it is even feasible, but maybe add a 1-2 smallish predator fish to feed on the small ones?
Love the pond, appreciate the updates 👍🏼
Bagaimana kalau kolamnya diisi ikan channa? 😁
Sukses selalu kawan, salam dari penggemar channa indoneaia 🤝
I've had a pond and koi for years, there's nothing wrong with a natural pond great for the wildlife, if your looking for clear water or clearer than it is you will need a bigger UV Than 18w I'm afraid mate but nice pond
