It seems fitting that Executor is really good at killing Crucible knights
is the executioner one of them ? or like was
@@jovunmahal6798It’s a little unclear. But he probably was a crucible knight at some point

The concept of doing Smelter Demon with no flasks, surviving the DOT by fully sustaining yourself with Executor’s abilities, fits the spirit of the run so well
The “animal I have become” bit is amazing. 10/10
It got mild amusement from me at first, but it actually did get funnier every time it happened lmao. Perfect, no notes.

Yes you can stop the sleep instant kill with a lightning stagger. Also, you can just get a lot of resistance passive buffs and have it not even put you to sleep.
That Duel at 4:57 with Onze the Demi-Human Swordsmaster felt like true Sekiro combat. It was riveting, fast-paced, and finished in no time.
The final rememberance quest for this character is also very good for this reason
Sekiro bosses always took me so long. Finished in no time feels more like an Elden Ring or dark souls boss.
Once you figured the flow of combat for each boss the punish windows are quite plentiful. You can often get an attack off between deflects and for bosses like genichiro you can often interrupt the intial attack. If you deflect his first arrow and step in you can interrupt his dash slice and it allows for 3 follow up attacks.@SentinalSlice
@@SentinalSlice I would disagree. THe mechanics of defeating Elden Ring bosses is about chunking away at their HP bar. Even stuns only take away a little bit of their health.
In Sekiro, deflecting right gets their posture bar up very quickly. It needn't even be that you need to cut away at their health all the way through (I mean, you can do that if you want to), but you can get an instant deathblow just a few %s into their HP bar, bcs you have broken their posture already.
@@jonmann4980 that fight forced me to get good, I learned how to do it perfectly now and parried every hit until I killed him lol
The HP regen instead of burst heal on Flask does have one niche use: when you get it while running any relic that lets you heal your allies with your flask, you can make your team extremely hard to kill. The HP regen scales better than the raw heal does on allies, especially if you've gotten multiple flask improvements throughout the run. It's usually not worth running solo though.
I like it on Raider since he's a big thick boy, you can get better heals. I like to pop a flask then hit his retaliate skill since you take almost no damage while using it. By the time the skill finishes usually I'll be almost back to full hp. Combine that with the relic that gives you Bloodborne rally mechanic on your hp after taking damage and raider just becomes dummy tanky.
Great for tanky bois like Guardian, Raider and Wylder. You just need to not let your hp gets too low.
Its really good on Guardian and espically so vs Gaping Jaw. If you get a couple of those + boosted flask heals you just out heal his grab attack and your team can get so much free damage in

@noodlesalad did you hear that he's not doing the music for the next d.l.c
@@fatpigeon2908I did not. That's crazy. Tbh, I haven't played since Hopoo sold it. I've heard it went downhill, and I want to remember it for the peak it was.
@noodlesalad HonestyI might be a little biased since I only played it for about a before hopoo sold month but i'd say it's still pretty peak. You don't really need to buy the dlcs but they come with a bunch of cool add ons(especially the characters) and the base game is still pretty much the same

This dude beat Sekiro blindfolded. Like this was ever going to be a challenge.
29:53 Well yes, using Lightning on Augur when he's doing the sleepy-sleep move staggers him out of it. Kind of a problem when you don't have any weapons though.
Wolf (Sekiro) turning into a wolf
The Secret Augur tech for when you dont have an ult that can interrupt the sleep is called: using its weak element (aka Lightning) :P Doesnt apply to this challenge ofc but its a neat thing to know.
Technically he could use lightning pots if he found any but that’s mostly based on luck if you don’t know where they normally spawn.
@@1ishful i think at the start he stated pots were not allowed this run
@jorix__543 Ah, you’re right! I completely forgot that he addressed it at the beginning. My bad but at least it can help others who might be having a tough time getting a lightning weapon for Augur. He could also use the lightning strikes on dodges to try and break the move but that’s way too luck specific.
I've stunned auger out of that by killing the surrounding wiggle guys, the orbs seek & damage auger & can stance break the boss somewhat often after a certain amount.
You can probably beat auger by killing all it's minions & the sleep nuke droplet & never actually hit the boss just it's mechanics.
I mean he could have used lightning dodge or lightning while walking
Fun facts I compiled on reddit regarding the Executor, the flourish section of drawing the curse sword AND PUTTING IT AWAY is also a deflect not actually i-frames, though it will deflect anything but a grab. If you intend to deflect with the sword draw, also hold the guard button as it will start the guard deflect just after the draw deflect, this will allow you more time to deflect if you make a mistake and draw it to early.
So if you know a boss's moveset you could start with deflect switching, deflect normally, and deflect switching the last attack. This leaves you always having your primary weapon out during damage sections.
"...when entering and leaving the stance, you're blocking for 9 frames and have a special effect enabled. [...] all I can say for sure " -quote from u/Shard1697's post
HOLD DOWN THE GUARD BUTTON. Your deflect window is longer then you think but only if you are still guarding and it will auto-deflect fast enough follow up attacks. You can deflect everything but grabs. Seriously. Dragon breath, Water, the sky falling, MADNESS ITSELF! Also if a grab is blueish purple, dodge into it. This will deal stance damage and give a special animation
Also fun fact your Cursed Sword's skill ALSO DEFLECTS, both forms, though the timing is tighter as it is specifically only when you are fully crouched and have the sword over your back.
"...it has 41 frames of superarmor from the start but unlike the sheathe/unsheathe frames [the deflect] have startup. It takes 7 frames for them to be active and then they last for 10 frames" -quote from u/Shard1697's comment
I've heard rumors though that if you deflect an attack with the dash, you do increased stance damage, and that it also prevents you from doing that backflip when guarding a big attack, allowing you to stay in the offensive.
Third fun fact: Before level 13, the cursed blade does damage like a white weapon but slowly climbs up each level. At 13 it is closer to a blue weapon before surpassing it at 14.
There are a few relics that effect it and stack, having ether one will put you close to the purple weapon damage range. The specific ones I know about are:
"[Executor] Character Skill Boosts Attack but Attacking Drains HP" which adds +8% but takes some of your health with each attack with your Cursed Blade
"Improved Attack Power with 3+ [Weapon type]" which give +13% when you have three weapons of the specified type in your inventory. (The cursed blade does not count towards the 3 since it is not tagged as a Katana, but does receive the damage buff even if you are using, say, +3 bows)
5% per Evergaol cleared
Fourth Fun Fact: Deflection counts as a successful guard, so you can itemize around that to regain health, ultimate gauge or damage negation.
Fifth: With a heavy attack immediately after a deflect , you do a guard counter which does massive stagger damage on top of the deflect's stagger damage. Be careful not to get interrupted by a follow-up attack but dont hesitate or you wont get the guard counter.
Sixth: You can guard counter even the attacks that flip you backwards. Even if you do not hit the enemy, you will trigger on guard counter effects like the holy burst or 3 skeletons
Seventh: You have a special dodge while you have the cursed sword is out and start to regen your stamina sooner then normal. Use this to move around faster by spamming dodge and rez easier with stamina efficient cursed sword attacks. (Your Dash also is really good for rezzing as it does 90% of 1 bar while golden)
Eighth: Your in-hand effects (main and off-hand) will apply to your cursed sword! (Sadly this does not seem to work with the applies status effect ones) so finding a "Walking spawns ___" item can really help you keep aggro.
Ninth: Use the dog roar (Your guard button) to pick up your teammates. It's AOE at range so you can pick two people up at once even if they're not together yet. It also can be easier to rezz a single player due the AOE.
Tenth: The Dog is completely status immune. If you're about to get hit by deathblight, madness, sleep, frostbite, scarlet rot, ect., you can just turn dog and ignore it. The build up will naturally tick down as long as dog lasts.
Eleventh: If you need to keep aggro, consider the following options:
Guard counters after a deflect
On walk/guard effects
Draw/sheath deflect to keep your DPS
Forcing your teammates to take "less likely to be noticed"
A bow to get aggro back as they leave
Poison to keep doing small amounts of constant damage
On guard draws aggro relic
Twelve: Your small dodge with the Suncatcher out only has 8 s vs the base of 13 for other rolls. However, the guard cancel flag happens 9 frames after on frame 17 vs the 20th for regular rolls. -restructured info from u/Shard1697's comment
Great info, but people's misuse of 'parry' is getting confusing. You're talking about 'deflecting', parrying is a different thing altogether.
@@ImogenHart-q2p Good point I will correct that

The Claw attack in his ult can cancel Libra's sigil move. It staggers bosses like some of the other ults. Plus the fact that you auto transform after it makes it easier to take ripostes

48:12 the best part of the "animal i have become" bit
29:56 there is a mechanic to help negate Maris' big sleep move: use lightning damage. The way you break them out of that attack is through hitting them enough to stagger them out of the attack, and using lightning damage significantly reduces the amount of work you need to put in to break through it
...that, or just use ultimate arts that stagger every time to guaranteed knock them out of it, that works too
you can also just kill all the ads. they all do damage and will stagger. especially useful when maris does the fly away and send like 100 jellyfish at you
@@newdeoterent1340 Yes, absolutely! Using high damage ultimate arts that cover a wide area like Wylder, Raider, Ironeye, and Guardian can result in you sending a massive storm of projectiles off to bombard Maris, its super satisfying when it goes off
Also worth mentionint that the giant explosive bulbs Maris shoots off in phase 2 shoot off even bigger, higher damaging projectiles back to Maris, making it worthwhile to destroy them if you have the means to do so
@@ShinxBOOM247 Recluse is also amazing at killing the adds. Even without taking great AoE spells, just keeping the basic starting staff gives you Glintstone Arc, which usually one-shots the exploding jellyfish.
@@ShinxBOOM247 Executor is actually the best for that since the roar hits pretty much all of them, and since it's not just one singular burst he's likely to kill all spawned enemies and deal like 5k-7k damage

For those who are having the same FPS issues as Aggy: the game for some reason doesn't tell Windows not to park cores, or Windows itself parks them too aggressively. Forcing all cores to stay active (for example, using an app called ParkControl) solves these issues completely.

I love the rose-goldish tint the black blades gets when it is buffed with the darker skins. So lofty!
thank you editor for your work o7
I think the reason why he poses to thrust when critical hit but changes to slash in the last second is because he's looking for an opening in the armor but can't find one so he resorts to slash
Ofc that whole theory will demolish if he does the same when fighting peasants
him running his free hand along the blade before going into the wide arcing slash is also something I've seen some other shows/games with katana wielding characters do, my best guess is it's meant to take the time the stagger opening grants him to steady/align the blade for an especially clean cut
Nah, Executor is just a canon weeaboo that wanted to be a cool samurai and then at some point forgot he wasn't a samurai. He's just trying to look cool

2:08 the camp solo with guardian if you have his abilities up is so quick lol
35:50 The dog's final claw attack can actually stagger Libra out of meditation, so it's another option from running through the glyphs.
People better start putting some respect on this character. If you basically do this "challenge" run, but also put as many status effects on your primary weapon as possible, you can easily swap between pumping damage and pumping status effects to farm anything.
It's ultimately better to stay with your regular katana out and dodge/attack instead of switching to the cursed blade sadly. Lame I know, but if you're talking optimal that's the way to go. Yes, maybe its better to pull the cursed blade against specific attacks that might be hard to dodge but yep if you just dodge and R1 with dual katanas with status effects and all that it's 100% more optimal.
Which is great for solo specifically. In multiplayer, the aggro issue makes the block form far less functional to build around. Especially when the character has an S in Dex and Arcane.
@@tidalwaffles swear they need to just make the deflect his passive. His passive and skill are both wayyyyyy too niche compared to shit like Ironeye who just carries the worst players you've ever seen.
Yes man, the cursed blade being absolute dog shit is super underwhelming. You get into a sick walking stance and your blade starts glowing yellow yet you do piss low damage. @@ChubbyPL4YZ
@@tidalwaffles I wouldn't necessarily call it THAT bad. If you're still able to beat the game using only his skill then it can't actually be that bad. But his skill and passive are simply bottom of the tier list in viability. Half the characters have something simply better, easier to use, and usable in more situations.
The Three Days Grace bit has to be the funniest bit you've ever done ngl
okay, the "Animal I Have Become" bit is funny, but then syncing the wild drum fills in Scattered and Lost to dog moments during the 'abridged' run starting at 51:00 is a editing masterstroke

thanks for making me listen to three days grace for an hour. thoroughly enjoyed it
36:51 The sickest Redmane Knight ever, double front flips over the homie for the slam.
You saying Fulghor would be the hardest had me so confused, I find him to be very straightforward when it comes to fighting him as Executor. The way I think about it is to just parry everything you can, and stay extra defensive during spear attack by dodging out of the ground AoE while not attempting to attack him hardly at all unless you know his spears are elsewhere, and it tends to just result in a simple fight, if rather tedious. Having the Glintblades and Rain and other such effects would make that fight a lot faster tho, so if nothing else I've learned to start putting those higher priority.
And he is a tough boss, to be fair, even with a 40 frame perfect guard window he still catches me lacking in phase 2 more than I would like to admit
Bro started playing Ape Escape music while killing the Crucible Knights and the whiplash almost destroyed my spine. What a throwback.

People dont know this but in the Augur fight, the tentacles coming out of the ground act as antennas that extend the sleep aoe , so if you kill them around augur, the unavoidable sleep becomes smaller range

Every bolus gives you a permanent resistance until the end of your run. You can also stack them by waiting a little bit between each time you eat them. For example you could basically stack resistance to madness up to +5 very easily before fighting Libra, nearly making you immune to madness build-up at the end of his full strength phase.
Glad to see some good Executor rep. I was trying to look up some fringe scenario I came up with and I was seeing almost exclusively hate for the character and buff requests 😩
