Hello Anthony Green & Circa Survive fans! I've already updated the info about this version and I hope everyone are aware about this demo version off the song The Great Golden Baby. Thank you for reading and tuning to Circa Survive. Please support them and like them on their Facebook page and buy their Official Merchandise if you like this. Anthony Green is love, Circa Survive is life.
I met anthony a few weeks ago at a signing, and i asked him what the deal was with three different versions; and then ultimately why they decided to release TGGB version of the song. His answer, in short, was that they (circa) felt that when the song was originally recorded, he felt like they just needed a song and it felt somewhat forced. Leading, (what i took from it), to three different variations of the song. I told him the Juturna version of the song had always been my favorite of the bunch, and his response- and I quote, "dude that one is sick, with the little 'jaunt' in the middle of it" . He told me something along the lines that TGGB was what they felt to be the most solid and matured version. Then he turned my juturna vinyl over and underline The Great Golden Baby, and signed it directly underneath. He couldnt have been cooler.
Met him in 07 working backstage at Warped Tour in STL. Got to talk to him a bit, coolest dude ever. He ran off the stage and first thing he did was gave me the sweatiest hug I've ever received. Then took a picture with me. I'll never forget it.
This song still has one of the best endings of all time, I still go back to it and get chills every time, once that break down with the drumming towards the end starts it’s all over for me. I replay that part over and over lol Gawd this band is amazing, they always have the greatest outros ever. Honestly that’s one of my favorite things about this band, the damn outros.
I will never stop listening to this band, sober or not. It is the best music I have ever heard in my life and will never change. I love the connection of the band. They know music better than any mainstream person/band that I have ever heard. So fuck all that hate.
Juturna was the name of this song while it was floating on the internet when they were first coming out. It was a demo of a demo. Cause The Great Golden Baby doesn't even sound like this on The Inuit Sessions. I personally think this was a better version.
Man, I really wish they'd left that "over and over again" and "all she wants to find out is why" in the album version. Hands down, this is my favorite version of the song
"I promise to write, I promise." That lyric and the piano part at the end makes me appreciate this version of the song way more than the properly produced version of it.
yall. im 22. heard this song for this first time ever age 13, before this it was meet me in montauk. Still feel the same since i first heard it. I love this band so much they will always be a part of who i am
Circa never gets old. I've jammed to this album and on letting go every day for the past few years and I still love it like it's the first time I listened to it. I can honestly circa is my favorite all time band. Keep it up guys, your music touches many people in a positive way
I was led by a string to Secret and Whisper and then of course to Saosin..and Circa Survive. This is by far my favorite song by Circa Survive. Anthony Green is definitely impressive.
I used to have this demo on my iPod when I was like 17. I checked my iTunes for it the other day and it no longer available. This version is actually my favorite song all time by Circa and I’ve been a fan for at least 15 years at this point. I hope I can find it on iTunes again.
you know I gotta admit, from seeing them twice in the past year I still think this album is their best work. I dig on letting go and blue sky noise dont get me wrong, but this is a powerful album that can blow your mind all over again each time you listen to it..it never gets old considering its already been out for 6 years. shit..
I am a longtime Circa fan and this is the first time I've heard this version. I have that sweet sweet feeling like I'm listening to Juturna for the first time again
For some reason, I'm attracted more to this version of the song more than the final version. Some of Anthony's vocal harmonies are so beautiful, specifically "Oh, now that I know..." The drums are a little sloppier but Colin, Brendan, and Nick are geniuses. It's just too good for my ears. MAH BRAIN WILL SOON EXPLODE!!!
this song is such an easter egg of circas career tbh. It doesnt get half the attention of any song on Juturna, and is completely shadowed by on letting go, and nonetheless the fact that the album is like 5 years old. This song is so goddamn good, its better than any song they've done. Goddamnit. I love this band.
this is just plain and simple and relaxing in a mysterious strange land... thats what it reminds me of. its not one of those rock bands where everything is distorted. its like listening on the bus at night when its raining... this song feels just like another world
I've been searching all over for this! I accidentally downloaded this version instead of the album version on limewire in like 2006. I got wicked goosebump and flashes of memories!
Usually I don't comment on likes and dislikes because it's done too much, but I honestly don't see how ANYONE could dislike this song. One of the most powerful songs ever written in this genre of music; with beautiful lyrics to go with it. And I mean, come on - 3:58 - 4:30.
i didn't even realize this demo/alternate version existed... wow, talk about an excellent version of an already fabulously excellent song. i have a love for circa survive that runs so, so, so deep. i want to go swimming in their music
peepeerogers 2006 for me. I met my high school best friend when I was 14. we somehow talked and he let me borrow this CD and we pretty much made our own band and a demo came of it.
@bmacorama What a great explanation. So true. This album came and took me by suprise. I picked it up because in fear and faith was featured in a wakeboard video. It is one of the best albums ever. Period.
Juturna is not only the best fucking album Circa has ever done, its also the best song! there is just so much meaning and emotion behind this song. No other band has ever touched me the way this one has, its unreal.
EPIC. The amp buzz in the beginning is all i need for legitamacy. The album version doesnt have half the feel for me. This is so airy and open. Amazing.
This song makes me zone every time I hear it. Circa Survive, love you more than anything. P.S. This is JUTURNA!!!! I kept reading comments about someone who kept insisting this was the Great Golden Baby; sweetheart, this is the demo for the song, if you notice the wde variation in sound in lyrics between the two songs. Well, it doesn't matter much- as long as you're listening to Circa, you're all right in my book.....
this was the original version of the great golden baby juturna is slightly different but the great golden baby is the remake of this song...louder vocals and some lyricschanged like "pride" to"problem" i still frigin love this song this is my fav song...... the guitars and piano at da end perfection!!!
Guys...Circa Survive is telling a story through their songs. I've been listening to their songs closely and I'm hearing lyrics that I've heard in a different Circa song. Listen to this song, then The Great Golden Baby. Also listen to We're All Thieves then listen to Stop the Fucking Car. There are connections between songs, much like The Dear Hunter. Don't believe? Hear for yourself.

I wish I could meet him, but social anxiety x(. I’m jealous of you guys.
I met him in riverside cal heat and he was amazing. I love circa survive it’s my music. It’s the base to my life.
Play this at my funeral. And every day until then. Heard it first in high school maybe 2008. Been my absolute favorite song since.
I bumped into this awesome band(their music) in 2010♡ Anthony Green's voice is VERY unique♡♡
This song still has one of the best endings of all time, I still go back to it and get chills every time, once that break down with the drumming towards the end starts it’s all over for me. I replay that part over and over lol

How does this song still grab hold of me after all these years🥹

GlassHearted10 I completely agree

I was led by a string to Secret and Whisper and then of course to Saosin..and Circa Survive. This is by far my favorite song by Circa Survive. Anthony Green is definitely impressive.

Wish they would have kept that little break at 2:05

Yes this song is off the 2004 demo which has Handshakes at sunrise, Juturna (The great golden baby) and a long version of Suspending disbelief.
Holy lord this is such an amazing gift you have blessed us with. Circa Survive is the best. Huge fan. Love all their music. 3
2 words for this:
deeply underrated
3 words now:
deeply underrated percussions
Couldn't agree with comment below me more. Old Circa never ceases to make my emotions swell. Very deep lyrical projection every song.
I love this version the most. Wish it would have stayed this way.
this is just plain and simple and relaxing in a mysterious strange land... thats what it reminds me of.
its not one of those rock bands where everything is distorted. its like listening on the bus at night when its raining... this song feels just like another world
such a relaxing song...
close my eyes, crank the circa up, and hit the blunt!
this song is a work of art
They did tour together on the Twilight Army tour. TREOS and Circa Survive are two of my favorite bands.
I've been searching all over for this! I accidentally downloaded this version instead of the album version on limewire in like 2006. I got wicked goosebump and flashes of memories!
It’s been awhile since I heard this version! 🤟
Usually I don't comment on likes and dislikes because it's done too much, but I honestly don't see how ANYONE could dislike this song. One of the most powerful songs ever written in this genre of music; with beautiful lyrics to go with it. And I mean, come on - 3:58 - 4:30.
WHY DIDN'T THEY KEEP THE DUAL VOCALS?! It sounds so perfect!!
I have been completely in love with this song for the longest time now
i didn't even realize this demo/alternate version existed... wow, talk about an excellent version of an already fabulously excellent song.

7 years later. its still just as epic.
I love it. like a million thumbs up
Experimental music. gotta love it
So atmospheric
This is way better. Plus I always felt that "the great golden baby" always ended to abruptly like there was something missing. I was right
This is the perfect study song/playlist/album/band.

This song makes me zone every time I hear it. Circa Survive, love you more than anything.
