As a fellow "Black Sheep" who has people talking about me all of the time, I loved your video. I am also a Stampin" Up! Demo and self-taught Brother ScanNCut expert. I teach how to use it with our SU products and I get a lot of sneers and comments because we don't sell the machine. The machine actually helps me sell more of SU products as I share ways to use it with our existing products but I still have people coming up to me in person and writing me online about it. I relate to your video. Craft with the supplies that make you feel happy and creative. You do YOU. I'm sorry you have to spend so much time answering questions from so many others who don't mind their own business and who don't understand the policies. Thanks for making this video.

I actually recently bought the scan and cut machine after seeing your video to use with SU products ( not all of their products have dies.) I am no longer a demo but I love using the machine with stamps with all brands. I also enjoy using my copics and ohuhu markers . I love how tim holtz puts it " if it's in your toy box why not use it?" I am probably an Odd ball.

I was so happy to find this video. I have also been a demonstrator for over 10 years and was becoming stale doing the same thing. I am branching into other craft forms and trying to use my Stampin Up products when I can. I also love coloring with
copic. The most important thing you said was that less than 1% of demonstrators reach those higher levels. I am 77 years old and just want my hobbies to be fun not work. I was feeling a failure because all I heard was from the ones winning trips and bonuses. Now I feel more comfortable in just doing what I want and using other products sometime. Thank you.

This reminds me of when I was in Mary Kay and one of the consultants got her car. She decided having the ‘free’ car wasn’t worth all the work and time away from her family. She even went back to work for her previous employer and had more family time than she had before.
The thing people don’t get is you need to pivot to do what works for YOU not what everyone expects from you.
I will still watch and love your work.

Thanks Wendy…I am a hobby SUDemonstrator and have believed in the thought that as a SU demonstrator you could not use any other companies product especially in your classes… i know now that is totally an error !
Kudos for you showing all of us out there that you still can be a stamping up demonstrator and use other products. How can we all grow? If we don’t look for other ideas from other companies.
I learned a long time ago family is first you always take care of yourself and them.

I am a SU demonstrator and have been for many years as well. I have used other products in my workshops that I have held. The world has a lot of options that makes life more interesting. I love dabbling in different media. I’m so sorry you had to put this out and received negativity. We don’t need that in our lives. Keep being you and determine your priorities. Wishing you much success!

I am Stampin' Up! demo too as a hobbiest and use other products too I have a cricut machine and had to diversify myself and I bought the stamp sets and inks to make products that were homemade to sell. And as they are now doing the kits but in the UK we cannot get the paper pumpkin kits only the special ones which is ok. And it is hard out there when you are trying to make it make money and have to sell the retired items all the time that is not what my business is about. Well done for what you are doing Wendy.

I was an SU demonstrator for many years and loved their products…. Especially their color families. But I really wanted to learn Copic coloring, and so many other companies offered stamp sets that catered to Copic coloring. I just got to a point where I couldn’t personally justify my monthly financial commitment to SU and buy the other products I wanted to buy on top of it, so I gave up my demonstratorship. I still buy SU products from time to time and love them.

I have a ton of other products from other companies, but I was not sure if I could post projects I made with some of those products, to my blog. It's always been just a SUP blog, so I wasn't even aware we could use other products. I have a very small business with SUP, and I know I will never be in the 1%, but it does help me pay for my orders. I am so happy that you've chosen to do what you need to do for your creative process and your family. I will absolutely continue to follow you because it's fun to see you, and learn new things. How can we continue to learn and grow in our craft if we don't explore other products. I never wanted to make this a full time job: I retired from one, don't need another one. A thoughtful and useful video. I have been a hobby demonstrator for seven years with no plan to be anything else. My reason for this choice is because I have a heart for mixed media, I love gel printing, junk journaling, stenciling, acrylic painting, water colouring etc. Until recently Stampin’Up has not fulfilled that area of my artistic desire. My other issue was not being able to use retired products to create with if I want to do a video. So thank you for clearing up some of the ideas I may have mistakenly thought. Best wishes and great success in your business. ❤

Unfortunately the social media has become a place for people to say and do things that would not be said or done in person, it’s too easy way to hide behind these platforms and be nasty.
I feel just as all us crafters are different and bring so many different ideas , so do the many craft companies, and to stay with one product line stagnated my craft journey.
I also noticed many of the SU demos have either a spouse or helpers to assist in their business and I cans see if your one person in your business, can be daunting- kudos for you to be able to achieve that! Good luck and welcome to the unending creative world💕

Hi Wendy, I’ve followed you for years. Thank you for sharing. It almost sounds like a SU Cult. I was a hobby demo years ago but ended up dropping because the products were “dated” and not trendy at all… at least for me. I have seen some improvement but now the cost of stuff is a barrier. Your message was so refreshing. TFS 😊

I totally support you-people always say to me that I should sell my cards, make a business, etc., but I know that all I want to do is make the things! The idea of the shipping and content creating is just not on my love list! I’m very glad you’re doing what makes you grow and happy! ❤

Hi Wendy, my name is Donna Allen. I think you are a great demonstrator of stamping up products, one of the best cards I’ve ever made came from one of your videos at Christmas time! I think it’s great that you are expanding your creativeness with other products! And I think you should keep doing what you do, because you bring so much artistic creativeness to the rest of us, and I appreciate you so much! God bless you for your courage and going forward and supporting your family in life!!!

Hi I'm new here but very old scrapper / stamper. I was a SU demo in 2002 and your story could have been mine. You're doing the right thing! I found the admin / demo responsibilities overtook what I loved: creating. I found myself spending all my time making cards for swaps and demo events and had zero time to create and ENJOY it. Keep doing YOU and you'll never go wrong! Thank you for all your ideas! :-)

Thanks Wendy! I don’t watch you religiously, but always enjoy your creativity when I do-I have such a hard time with people who love to be the “Stampin Up” police when we do have a compliance department. Thanks for sharing your heart. I know you are a believer so know that I’ll be praying for you and all these decisions. I appreciate your transparency and logical facts! Go girl!!!

Hi Wendy- I'm a demo & fully support you. Ive always embraced more than the SU product line. I cut with a Gemini jr & always will- when you have a career in IT- I could never support an "older" technology of doing things & like you- I love to embrace all different ways to color & create- because using only SU products is not reality- we all use different products. 2- LIFE is Growth- We all EVOLVE. Good for you that you know what keeps you thriving. 3. Affiliate links is EXACTLY that- affiliation with a company - everyone in the Top 50 uses links - people need to Calm Down. We are INDEPENDENT ...Im glad you are staying- and that your #1 focus should always be family first. Teenager & a husband are both Mom/ partner comiittments- Kudos to you, keeping your priorities straight. HUGS♥

I appreciate the channels that actually show how to learn and do new things. When I come upon SU channels where the first several minutes of the video is a sales pitch, it’s a huge turn off and I either stop the video or I fast forward past it. You keep doing what you do so well and follow your own path. 👍
