    Bro Your on the right track , Increasing the Tension of the spring in the Driven clutch causes the drive system to Downshift sooner and harder , You Adjust Overall Top RPM by the Weight of the Drive clutch Weight's , Less Weight = Higher RPM , Sub Up Breh's !

    That sled looks BEAST MODE

    I had an 80 SRX back in the day and I don’t remember it having that much of a bog out of the hole. Granted the throttle response was better in the mid to upper range but I don’t recall it being so gutless off the line. I was also running a Comet clutch but for the life of me I can’t remember what weight and spring setup I ran, but it was about 30 years ago. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Nice clean looking sled though. Wish I never would’ve gotten rid of it.

      They are great sleds, everyone always says they wish they had theirs back. I put round slide Mikuni’s on that sled and I’m still playing with the jetting on the bottom end now.

      I have a 87 exciter that had a bad bog of the line. I'm in Colorado, 8000 to 10000 ft setting. I changed the jetting to 240 main jet. Took out power jet, plug in the line. The put the clip 3rd from top on the jet needle. Air screw at 5/8 turn out. Adjust carb piston slides so both move at the same time. I used popsicle sticks under puston. Twitch throttle and you will see which one is off. My bog is gone. Clean that pilot jet passage in the carb body not just the pilot jet.

    It’s not your belt your secondary needs to go together more so your belt is higher. That will give you a lower gear to start. You primary dictates the rpm. If you tighten the secondary to get rpm you loose efficiency Secondary just tight enough so the belt doesn’t slip.that sled needs a lot of clutch work. It’s horrible

    • @twocylinderwill
      @twocylinderwill 7 месяцев назад

      It’s actually not the secondary. After I made this video, I found the front motor mounts were actually loose and the whole engine is torquing over real bad. So it’s really not engaging until half way up the primary because of that lol it should be an easy fix

    sounds like that thing is running on one cylinder... something is holding it back

    • @twocylinderwill
      @twocylinderwill 8 месяцев назад

      Yeah it’s definitely running on 2. But after I looked back at my tuning notes from last year, I changed the carb boots and adapters at the end of the year and never tested. That changed the angle the carbs are at and it seemed to be running really rich now

      I would check for bad bearings at the drive shaft and jackshaft. Did you have the skid frame removed already?
