I was in 7th grade in 1960 and our headmaster late Abdurehman was very fond of her singing and once we heard her singing only through the peeps of the door. That was perhaps 1961 or 62. Later, her one song hit the height and everyone was singing. It was the song of ‘Budnam” movie ‘burray bey murrawat hain yea hussan walay” almost every kid in the school used to sing this song and radio played it throughout the day. She is a treasure house of Pakistan, very humble, very cultured and the torchbearer of our vanishing values. May Allah bless her and her family.
Being a fellow saraiki wasaib, I'm proud of the amazing mother and daughter. Rahat sang a poem ( nazam) of a poet not as famous as Faiz. Unfortunately, it's neither on RUclips nor any other source. nor I can recall it's lines or lyrics. If she or anyone else reads this by any chance, I will be grateful for information about that poem sung by Rahat.
