Shakib was an MP but he never joined the parliament. He was playing cricket for Bangladesh and foreign franchises. From abroad, he availed the MP privilege and imported a duty-free luxury car. In the last week of July while the students were demonstrating, his cohorts cleared the car and was exempted from paying the Taka 8 crore import duty. Shakib should pay the Taka 8 crore import duty and any MP salaries he drew. Ghugu Tumi Bar Bar Dhan Kheyo Jao.
Lately, Shakib kept his individual interest above the team interest. In midst of a home-series, he went to Dubai and did the opening cutting ceremony of a gold ornament shop. The owner of the ornament shop is a fugitive, accused of killing a Bangladesh Police personnel. We do not need Shakib. We have a lot of young good cricketers. Shakib should not be allowed to make money from Bangladesh cricket.
