It's actually very nice to see non top-tier teams. It's much more enjoyable to see good players playing the game casually and showing us something we don't see in other tournaments. Thanks for the great upload.
LOL! sorry, but i read this a while ago, and this was the reason the 777 always choose Kim in every KOF, but as it was a casual conversation and I had some doubt about it. Anyway, thank you for the attention and the information. Cheers!!!
haha those are my buddies! the second guy is Xiaotou. our only EXTRA pro player, i've played all those Korean players before. they are steady. but we are still the best haha!
Japan is into the game a lot, there is a reasonably large collection of top players that have been playing kof for over 10 years at the highest level. But unlike Korea and China, the Japanese play all games...this seperate the amount of players that are specifically concentrating on one game, especially the older games. Most of Japan play kof2002UM right now (the superior kof game) and they are easily the best in the world.
The Korean Daimon vs. Heipi's Daimon is a small example...honestly I thought that guy playing the yellow Daimon on Korea played the weakest on team korea, but using that argument you can say Xiaotou played fairly weak for team China. I'm not sure what your issue is with SIRO's O Chris tactics, his movements were quite confusing and hard to read.
Korea used a few non-high tier teams as well. Don't look at the final result(ocv or not), look at the gameplay displayed by both sides. I feel like people look at some final scoreboard instead of the matches...
I am pretty sure that Dakou and Heipi used their best characters to make sure they can win it, the other 2 guys especially xiaohai are just fucking around...
Yeah, Japanese are good at lots of games. I used to watch their videos when i am picking up new games (Guilty Gear, Melty Blood). But back in the days, there were lots of videos where other Asian countries (Chinese, Taiwanese and Korean) vs Japan in a tourney and the Japanese didn't do too well. Not saying that they aren't good but just not as good. It's funny how a particular country is good at a particular KOF game. HK is good at KOK 2k2 and Korean is good at 2k1, etc.
I always believe that Japanese players aren't the best KOF players mainly because they aren't really into the game. They are really good at SF and VF. I think the Korean and Chinese won many of the KOF games when the Japanese entered. Korean got into KOF when KOF 2k1 release? I think it was because Korean design the game (please correct me). Chinese (China, Taiwan, HK) have been die hard fans of KOF.
No I'm not Asian. If you actually followed the kof scenes from many countries, like I have (I've been following Asia and other countries for 8-10 years), you will know. I bet I can list a bunch of famous players and you will not know them: Kikko, Hiroto, Jojo, 777, Oogosho, Dakou, Raian, Xiaohai, Ching Lung, Dune, Kyappu
DM combos isn't really something that defines you as a good player (some characters used such as Terry, Robert, Benimaru don't need them anyway). As far as I'm concerned, Korea played extremely well here, especially SIRO and VENON.
Xiaohai lost pretty early to Ichiku in kof98UM at SBO. Baozi got pretty far, coming to the finals, but yet lost to Makkii (I mention this because you like to talk a lot about win/loss). WCTEA, who is also one of the best kof98 players in china, lost to Shoki at SBO. Yong Yuan Zhi Jian, who is another top kof98 player in china, got absolutely killed by 777. In that 2k2UM tourney, they had good players but none of the tops. ET can't beat Tatsuya, M', Kyappu or Oogosho.
They are lacking on many aspects of the game...it's pretty easy to notice if you know some of the deeper aspects of kof. There's actually a lot of choices being made by these players that is based on some obscure knowledge that most players don't know about. Most of the other countries don't even know how to use alternating guard, which is actually a basic but very important technique...nevermind other more subtle techniques. They also lack the mental level of the asian players.

Why is there a Pinball machine sound in the background? Also, who are the low-tier characters you mention? Mature and who else?
That was painful to watch. Korea never got out of the gates and didn't even bother with DM combos. China has some really badass players.
Yeah he has a fascination with Kim...uses him in every game. But yes he is not korean, maybe he just loves the fighting style.
is there a china vs central or south america
how do you do ioris 4:11
Which one is Xiaohai
both are great player but i want to ask why this game is running so fast kof 08 game is 60fps

why? central and south america has some of the greatest KoF players
fun matches. but damn theyre like childs play
Well actually I consider them both great games but if I had to choose...2k2UM.
OMG!!!... (0.o)... 99 hits credits combo!! xD
the other CHinese player is Xiao Tou
xiao tou means rogue or thief in english.

why china use low tier char? because at that time, almost all the teenagers in china play this game, and just play all the skills that in kof98
Because Japan, China and Korea are on a much higher level.
Jaja, ese tipo es la leche con goro!
Amazing this really? sooo very speed
No...and there's no point in having Asia vs. anyone else in KoF98.
10:18 just like MVC2 Storm... HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH
xiaohai best is chris, and chris in chinese is called " xiaohao"
>Robert
>Top Tier
777 is korean? sad he's not playing.
