The shorter suppressor in 9mm, has a smaller muzzle opening, thus restricting some of the gasses escaping, while the 45 in the longer configuration has more volume even though the bore diameter is larger. To me, the Obsidian has a lower, more pleasant tone to it. My Obsidian 9 is stupid quiet when I’m shooting subsonic 147’s and 165’s.
@@CamelOnSteroid it has the booster and piston. (Piston bought separately) Recommended to run the booster, so don’t want to risk it. I now run it with no booster and alpha direct thread on my pcc.
I really like my Spetre 9, its super light and easier to see the sights if your not running a red dot. The Spectre 9 iis a little snappier because you don't have a larger heavier can hanging off the front the front of the gun. It does seem odd to do a subjective test on 9mm pistols without subsonic ammo.
@@beltfedTODDRULZ not everyone will buy these cans and just use Sub sonic. I would say 90% will continue to use basic range ball FMJ ammo. I have boxes of sub sonic but like I said before majority of people don’t want to pay .28cpr when you can get range ammo for .21-.22cpr
@@charlesarledge9520 I have not heard of those issues and haven’t seemed to run into any issues yet besides the M92XI having much more gas blown back into my face.
@@charlesarledge9520 not as bad as the m9. But the spectre had more blowback than the obsidian. I dont recall any major blowback when shooting it on the glock 19 though.
@@logicalmisery3737 Reddit, forums and capitol armory have said to run the booster. Other people have ran it without the booster and some ran into issues, some haven’t. So if the booster isn’t really effecting or adding anything negative to the table, what’s the point of not running it? I suppose for science I could try a couple runs without it and see how it does myself.
HEADPHONES RECOMMENDED!!! Which suppressor do you find to be better?
I need a Spectre 9. Out of stock looking for one now

Appreciate that. I found one at the armories Saturday can’t wait. Enjoy!!

are you running spectre 9 with just the included piston housing? how is the reliability on p320 with no booster/spring/nielson device?

Have you all put at lest a few hundred rounds through these suppressors? Did you run Obsidian in K configuration?
@@maroonblood151 yes on the few hundred rounds. The Obsidian, I am not sure as it’s my buddies and he just handed it to me
both about the same to me, i bet they have the pistol feeling very front heavy
@@NubsShoots that’s where I think the Spectre shines because it’s full titanium. So it almost feels like nothing is there… almost.
Can you shoot the Spectre 9 using a g19?
Would you guys say the Obsidian 9 is quieter than the Spectre 9?
@@MA-FL22 yea I can toss it on the Glock. They sound so close but I think the 45 may be a touch quieter.
@kimchicowboy5053 I want to get a light weight TI can for home defense, but I also want it to be just as quiet as my obsidian 9

Do you need a piston on the M9? It's a fixed barrel.
