No ground is needed on the right row of solder pads. They are ground and are the same as the speaker ground. All grounds run together on the PCB. Just use the one wire for ground across all the legs on the off side and run a wire from each of the 4 legs of the other side of the switch to each letter of the pads. Leg 1 to A, leg 2 to B etc.
So on one side of dip switch negative solder across all tabs and ground the whole side and run one wire to speaker ground? You don’t have to ground to the opposite side of ABCD? Someone sent me a picture ad ran a 4 dip and ran 4 grounds from switch to negative on ABCD, must not have to? Thanks
I just looked inside a Pole Position tiny arcade. It has the same A,B,C,D pairs of pads, but no jumper between any of them. Does anyone think it’s possible that you could make the same mod shown in this video and the result would be that not touching the joystick when powering on would give you Pole Position, AND putting the joystick in different positions when powering on would give you different games? For a total of five games?
A B C & D are copper pads - I'm afraid I let the soldering iron linger too long and I lifted two of the pads - doesn't look to be repairable :-( Oh well, at least I've got a 2-game machine now, that's 100 better than it was ;-) Any tips for attaching those wires more reliably?
HELP!!! High scores don't save on 3 of my 4 machines! Galaxian saves. Pac Man, Ms.Pac Man, and Space Invaders do not! They WILL however all save until switched off. Anyone else having similar issues? Also, it sucks ASS there isn't a way to disable sleep mode or sound for display purposes. Beyond that my only issue is they need to MAKE MORE! Turtles, Simpsons, Ghosts n Goblins, SF2, etc etc etc... would be FLYING off the shelves!
Yup a slider switch or rotary if you can find a micro version. No luck for me but have to tried too hard. Mouser or Digikey might have some. I have these switches coming with large toggles. www.ebay.com/i/232517508330
These are better. You can just switch to the one you want without having to flip and un-flip separate switches. I will post a video later how I did it and the location of switch. www.ebay.com/itm/US-Stock-10x-SS-24E04-PCB-10-Pin-4-Position-2P4T-DP4T-Mini-Vertical-Slide-Switch/401303867366?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
you could use the 5th switch position to make/break the connection to the speaker, to mute the sound...
Thanks for posting this tutorial. I am planning to mod one of mine to play all 4 games.

Great video, you could also use a small 4 position rotary switch or 4 position toggle switch :)

Thx. Great video. Now I'm definitely going to buy one, and do this mod. Now I just need to decide which cabinet I want.
I came up with a joystick switching mod I never videoed after this. This is the old way.
Fairly late to this, but opened mine up wondering if there was a way to mute the audio, just fairly loud

What happen if you turn "on" two more switches ?

Yes that is a complete possibility.
A miniature rotary switch might be a better choice. smaller too.

Graham Toal you can trace the pads to the next pad on the circuit. Solder to those.
@@obtainiumgaming4472 Ah! Will do!
I noticed that pac-man if turned off resets the high score, while for space invaders is memorized, why?
rasteryx123 was your originally a space invaders mine doing same thing but it's a galaxian(originally a galaxian) battery maybe ?
thanks! good video!

Hello will this hack work on the pole position tiny arcade game?
Did you ever find the answer? My kid has the pole position..but looks like only left and right..no up and down...also there is no jumper present
WHAT IS BEHIND THE BOARD!!!!!!!!
Thx working :)
I prefer buying all of them at only 20$ each.

Hello is there a posibility that i can burn the game in case i dont do it right? I have already ordered some wires and the switch from china
fernando salinas you can’t burn the game. It’s not hard just small and tedious.

Probably could.
Nothing much but a screen.
I did one of those a few days later. Video posted. ruclips.net/video/gio8RnY_v2Q/видео.html
