I tested the up-coming 2025 Nokta Legend Ultra yesterday. One helluva tool. Lethal in iron and can be adjusted on the fly, like an F75. Found an Elizabeth 1st silver hammered farthing with it at two pin-pointers depth, which is approximately 18"s!... Helluva tool. And then I woke up in my chair. I'd nodded of with the boredom of another Nokta 'next version'.
My Legend came with Version 1:11 installed. Honestly I have not installed any updates to my machine since purchasing it. I really like the way it performs with its current apps so unless theres something that totally blows away the competition...I am happy. So no Beast Mode for me and I find the machine plenty deep for my needs. PS: Rocky is a handsome boy!
You are very wise. My respect to you. POS (perceived obsolescence syndrome, as I call it), is modern affliction that is endemic. Stick to what you know is very good and put in the hours and months honing yourself to it.
Seems to be a little louder on targets I hit. I’m thinking it is probably going to be the last update for this machine. They are probably going to focus on the upcoming PI machine they have in the works.
You might have your volume turned up more than I did in the video and/or the Sensitivity. It will be interesting to see how the PI does. I'm not in the camp that it will be a big game changer. PI machines have to be used for the right conditions and are susceptible to a lot of interference and EMI. But I hold judgement until it comes out.
@@MentalMetal yep. I’ve never used a PI machine but I’ve seen old ones being used. They seem to be very deep on targets. Who knows what modern ones will be able to do. They are usually pretty expensive too I think.
They are very deep for sure. The issue is iron discrimination (lack of) and no target IDs. It would be a game changer is some came out with a PI machine with good iron DISC and some accurate target IDs. That would change everything.
@@MentalMetal Fisher Impulse AQ is an excellent PI, in my experience. VDI is no good on genuinely deep machines. Tonal values are, plus the ability of the machine's electronics to accurately disc out iron at depth in excess of 10"s. Nexus MP V3 rules the roost for that, but that is a tool for experienced users, with a wide knowledge of the best "old-school" analogue machines. It is absolutely not for mainstream metal detectorists weaned on fully digital / SMF...in my opinion. No "swagger b-s" intended.
I'm confused if that 1st target is a dime at 9 to 10" it's odd on the legend to show VDI of 56-60 that lines up with a quarter. I could see the Deus averaging up on a deep target, but I haven't seen that with the Legend.
I wouldn't stand by the numbers for this demo. Legend struggles with the dime and I believe I have some contamination around it. Its a tough target to hit.

I also feel like they could have stopped at 1.11. That update was a game changer IMO.

I was just thinking that a plastic peg would be a good marker for your targets in the garden instead of paint. Then you wouldn't have to remark them
Thanks! Truth be told, I actually have landscapers plugs as markers but I choose to paint them up to make it easier to see for you.
Rocky said you’re my best friend just play with me👊
Yes he tells me that every day LOL.
Rocky👌
Thanks!
