Agreed but I must say that this doesn't just apply to these new affixes. Take raging for example. Was running a dungeon last night where I kindly asked the Aug Evoker to take Overawe as they were the only class that could soothe raging. Luckily, they did swap to Overawe. Unfortunately, they didn't once soothe any raging 😀. As a healer, I insist on taking a mage during afflicted weeks given that they have a spammable "remove curse". In some dungeons I can't use my dispel on the afflicted mob simply for fear of not having a dispel for something important. And whenever I do use it, invariably, someone gets hit by a poison or magic that I need to dispel but can't
I have an organized group of friends that we've been running m+ together since shadowlands. Our comp consists of venge, rogue, warrior, hunter, priest. Blizzard basically gave us the middle finger with these affixes. None of the players are bad or lazy and don't want to deal with mechanics and it's terrible of blizzard to have designed an affix that 4 out of 5 of us physically can't deal with. Incorporeal is easily handled (even with a warrior) but afflicted and whatever dev designed it should be removed from the blizzard corporation. Incorporeal isn't a good affix but at least most of the people can deal with it. Both of them if they were removed I'd be happy with. The worst part of all of this is the affixes in wrath classic heroic+ dungeons are so much better than any of the trash we have on retail.
I joined a group for uldaman 16, tank/lead said for the priest to help me, mw monk, with affix. Did the first big pull and I handled mine and the other went off. Happened two more times and the priest didn’t help. I told the group they’re not helping and the priest yelled at me for being a bad healer. Said he shouldn’t have to help, not his problem, and I’m a bad healer for not doing it myself. I left that group. Joined another, smoked it, shaman helped me the whole way. GGs.
It blows my mind dps think they can just get away with not helping with certain affixes. Like, this is team ganeplay my guy, you're supposed to pitch in
As a healer I just wish the dps would help out more then just doing dps it seems like they only care about numbers but numbers mean nothing when they are dead and thats not always due to the fact healer wasnt healing them, with afflicted it takes 1 second out of their time to hit a dispell granted that they have 1 when big damage goes out dont expect the healer to heal the afflicted when the whole team is 30% or tank is low health HELP OUT
"40% classes cant deal with afflicted". Well how many classes can deal with raging? 3-4? And only 1 aoe soothe. So why new affixes is a deal breaker now? How many classes can reliably deal with bursting? 1? I dont see any cries about that affix tbh. Preparing for dungeons is important, so as a key holder you need to pick apropriate team comp for dungeon and affixes. But i guess you dont like it. And blizzard would nerf\change something. (some things you said about incorporeal was a nice ideas even) But after they nerf this 2 new affixes people will start whining about sanguine (they are whining now already), about raging, bursting, bolstering etc. So either blizzard will change their affix design philosophy and rework all affixes, or they will just eventualy nerf every affix into non-existence.
Adding a vendor to mythic plus to solely deal with an affix isn't a good solution. The affix just needs to be retired. They added, we played it, it sucked, get rid of it. Done and done. Same thing with Incorporeal, it needs to be retired. These affixes are adding to the problem of playing the affix and not the dungeon.
I loved Incorporeal when I was maining my Warlock in Season 2, felt awesome to help CC those mobs every time they spawn. But obviously it felt terrible during Afflicted weeks when I couldn't do anything to ease the burden on the rest of my party. Now that I'm going to main a Brewmaster in Season 3 I assume both affixes will be fun, but they could still use changes for sure. It sucks when you literally can't do anything to avoid getting slapped with a massive haste nerf.
I pug often (BDK main) and even doing 23/24's, its eye watering how often people dont account for afflicted or incorp. At least wuth incorp me and the healer can handle it (by in large) but this week has been painful.
Personally I actually like the flavor of incorporeal in different groups where pretty much everyone can handle it to some degree but it can be nice if you have instant cast options. I can't say I like afflicted as an affix but I don't think an item to give every class an option really makes it better it's just a band aid this should probably be more of a back to the drawing board thing like afflicted affects one dps player at a time and requires them to do something possibly like getting your soul back in nokhud or it has a negative impact for that player only. I would be fine with them removing all affixes but these ones especially incorporeal aren't worse than the other affixes.
Agreed 100%. I play a holy priest, so I can help with everything, but I feel bad for people who basically can't play their favorite spec on some weeks. I'm kind of amazed they didn't make a change before the next season. 🤔
i was in hell all last week with my unholy dk being unable to deal with incorporeal last week made me not want to play it as much since i was mainly pugging.
Eh..... with the change to healer spot healing, afflicted is sorta easy for healers on PTR. Incorp, just agree as dps/tanks ahead of time who is dealing with them. If you don't get people for it, oh well
i have solely pugged this season without any voice coms whatsoever... i pugged from 0-3300 on 1 char, and 0-3000 on 3 other chars and then some 0-2700 ones... Incorporeal & Afflicted is literally just a skill issue for groups.. the affix's doesnt need changes... any changes would make them even more trivial than what they already are.
I agree with this (3500 IO pugger), the biggest issue with the affix is people not being aware the affix is up, not having mouseover macro for the cc/dispel, or forgetting the talents. The design of the affixes is fine, it's the rest of the game that's the issue.

The past 2 weeks have been miserable as a healer... Get rid of both...

It's not a skill issue because there is no skill involved in them. It's purely effort, most people don't even try.
