I love my Bloodwood example - so well and elegantly made. Bill Howard reportedly said he'd never make another splitback a few years earlier after the Grinling Whittler run you referred to (also on the #38 frame) of 2015, so we were delighted and surprised when these appeared.
I also have a #57 Geppetto Whittler which is much the same but on a shorter frame, so the similarly-sized Wharncliffe extends the full distance between the secondaries when closed.
And now we have a #38 John Chapman to look forward to!

Great vid, I chased a bloodwood for a few years due to pricing finally just got one used. It was fun cleaning it up and oiling it and making it my own.

I traded mine and I’ve missed it since. I love the pattern and I’m sure I’ll snag another. Great video

I have one but don’t carry it If i did though i agree it would be my tertiary knife i would only carry for carving but i have a banana pocket carver instead i recommend you getting a pocket carver. I love your ebonys need to get me a 78. I also have a grinling its a beauty.

@@roylerroycerickson I have several Carver’s, including a banana. I like them as well.
The 78 is definitely one to chase.
