Pinched Pint X Battery Wires - Fix The Flaw Before Its Too Late

Before its too late, if you purchased a Pint X prior to Summer 2023, you may want to contact Future Motion or open the battery box to see if you have any wire damage. The battery leads from the BMS and battery are being pinched between the battery housing and the battery. If you are experiencing an Error 16, 17, 21 or 23 on a Pint X, this may be the culprit. If the error is already thrown and if this is the cause, a new battery would be needed.

Did you manage to do the whole modification without unplugging the battery? The only thing putting me off is breaking something when unplugging/replugging everything on the BMS.
I was able to leave everything plugged in for that very reason of concern of bricking. I should have mentioned that in the video. It is very doable to do, I was just mindful not to stress any wires out (none really have much strain on them when you take the board apart and leave it on your workspace)
They fixed the wire problem! I took it apart and it was already smoothed out

FYI to anyone with a Pint X: DO NOT just assume your board won't be effected by this cable chafing issue (sounds like 100% of them are effected actually), or do not assume just because your board is new that you don't need to worry about it for awhile... My board only has 9 miles on it (yes, nine) and still looks in pristine condition, but I just finished taking my board apart to fix this issue by grinding down the plastic housing around the cable, and there were ALREADY very visible signs of wire chafing on those balance leads!! None of the wires were worn all the way through to the copper yet, but some of the wires were already pretty close to being worn through to the copper...

Just finished this mod on my Pint X. With only 320 miles and no drop offs, my wires were pretty damaged. One looked like it could be broken, by how badly it was crimped. I removed the offending plastic with a dremel, coated the wires with spray-on liquid electric tape, and reassembled it. Wish I had caught it sooner.

My wheel just died on me and won’t charge or turn on:/ future motion is literally the worst. 2nd pint x this has happened to me with.!
Was this recent? Considered getting the pint x, someone else commented and said they fixed the issue on newer boards
My Pint X won’t go over 10mph in any mode and the torque is horrible. It can barely make it up my driveway anymore. Could worn wires have something to do with this? I’d imagine if the wire was totally damaged it just wouldn’t work anymore.
I just receive my Pint X yesterday and took it for a spin. Love it! But I am not just finding out about this... so you think Future motion fixed this issue with the current Pint X's that are currently being sold?
I would hope not but right now there hasnt been any news reporting such. from what I've seen, riders that contact Future Motion get a response that the wires have moved out of place. Lets hope they fix the housing arrangement even if the wires "shifted".
@@PEVTrailRider yeah that is SUPER shady of Future Motion if you ask me. All they have to do is knowledge their issue and offer some sort of free service to have users ship in their one wheels to get fixed (like a recall). The fact they are so silent is really telling
It's been fixed for any Pint X built after mid-June of 2023. (Any older boards impacted will be fixed by Future Motion for free, even out of warranty.)
Nope, future motion has had this issue before and never resolved it, they are the very worst company ever

If I was looking to get a Pint X soon, should I do this from day 1 to ensure its safety moving forward? I don't even live in the same country as the manufacturer so getting official repairs would cost a fortune in postage alone.
Get a floatwheel, it's a far far better board in every way for less $

The flaw was getting a turd instead of a floatwheel. Future motion is a garbage company
