It was a good way to enjoy the outdoors a little longer😁 Sometimes bringing something simple and then adding to it is the way to go for meals😃 I think next time, I'd do bacon or chicken in the ramen. The sausage worked too.
If I have a proper frying pan with me, I'll do the garlic as well😁 Those were ravens flying overhead. They're a bigger bird and they sound a little bit nicer than crows. They are in the same family and look very similar. These ones are more chatty.
These looked great! i also like to add a pepper or some beef, carlic and unions are always a win, also and egg to make it more creamy, just in the boiling water and break it into little flakes, thats great to. Thanks for the video Age, ATB
Looled great, Age. Love you easy it is to jazz up ramen and how you can dpnit a million ways. Looked hearty with the sausage, and I like the included zucchini and peppers! Sesame seeds, too... gourmet!!!
There are certainly many, many ways we can make ramen. I'll try them all, lol😁 This was a fun meal to make on the mountain. I hope that you're having a great weekend as well😀
Good looking food. It is important not to leave the preparation of food too late. Then when you're totally exhausted, you can't do anything anymore. That happened to me once when I was younger on a military hike. The hike had task stops along the way. They lasted from Friday to Sunday. At one point I was so tired that I didn't realize how to eat anything anymore. Such a pot is good when it has a pouring spout. Also works as a coffee pot
Thanks, Joni😁 Yes, I would not want to prepare all this when totally exhausted! This was a 45 minute break I took to film, prepare, and cook this up. They really work you hard in the military! It's good because then when it happens in a real life situation, it's not the first time it is happening to you. You can then proceed to figure it out. The pouring spot is great! Anything you need to strain it will do nicely. It would be a fantastic coffee pot.
Thank you, Eventyrsoren😁 It was a nice way to make plain noodles a little more fancy😀 I hoe you're having a great weekend as well and are out enjoying the woods😊
It was jazzed up a little bit😋 Yeah, the mini cast iron skillet is pretty awesome. I really makes cooking much better they way it distributes the heat across the pan. It's also light enough to put in a pack and hiking it up there.
That's a great way of pimping up some instant ramen 👍. We'll have to keep that in mind and you'll probably see it in one of our future videos😊. Thank You for sharing and all the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
Yum! I find ramen noodles with veggies or whatnot added goes down a lot easier on a backpacking trip than the freeze dried meals too, as they seem so heavy. The red pepper with the sausage seemed like an especially great combo. 🙂
Ramen noodles are underrated. They are a good quick meal all by themselves. Add some veggies and a little protein and it's a little more health and it fuels you up. It worked out well for this trip😀
Thanks, Daryl😁 I thought it would be nice to jazz up the noodles and make something a little more interesting for the trail😀 Let me know if there is anything special you'd like to see me try to cook up on the trail😊
@@agesadventures Well, I'm going to try to do some more interior camping so bringing meat or dairy is not really possible. If have any good ideas for creating an easy hot meal on my single burner stove. I'd be very interested. Thanks for considering this, Age. Cheers.
@@flynorthproductions it depends on how long you're going for. The meat you could take out of the freezer just as you are leaving and let it thaw along the way and cook it up that evening. The same with any dairy. Powdered milk, as an ingredient, is not the world's worst thing you can have. It works well. Dehydrated meats can be taken. Canned foods are a good option. Now, are we talking lunch or dinner for the meals? I'll see what I can think up for you.
I'm thinking I need something for the second or third nights. I have limited space and can't carry much weight, so canned food is not my first choice. I'm thinking something like you did with noodles would be good. I'll leave that to you, you can cook. I can't. 😅
Man,I love all of those ingredients and can eat all of them except the noodles as they have too many carbs for me as I'm diabetic and can't partake of them. Have you ever noticed that food cooked outdoors seems to taste so much better? Great video Age! have a good one my friend.
Thanks, Jim😁 Do they make a noodle substitute? I'll have to look into that. I think the food cooked outdoors tastes better because we are focused on the process of making it. When we don't have the other distractions it allows us to enjoy things more. I hope you're having a great weekend as well!
