  • Bionicle stop motion animation film
    Inspired by patrickboivin Bionicle STARS
    A bionicle film. My first serious stop motion, using Lego Bionicles, 5000 images using a Nikon D5000, preliminary editing with Windows Live Moviemaker, 12fps, effects using Corel PaintShop Pro X3, final editing using Corel VideoStudio Pro X5, for best results watch in HD with the sound on
    I'm currently working on another bionicle film Waste Disposal

    Ah yes, it feels good to revisit a classic, a staple in Bionicle stop motion history.
    Edit: Also, very clever using toothpick as foot supports during some scenes.

      What do you mean that animation was soo good and I would say it deserves way more than 1 million views. Everything was spot on the animation, the story, the sound effects and best of all you made the blue rakshilook

      Thanks, well for I use windows movie maker to start then Corel pro5, I was thinking about doing a get started with animating tutorial some time

      Thanks for the info! I've made a few stop motions but they are short and well..pretty bad.

    I really liked the sets :P It's not very often I see a stop motion with such nice locations. Normally it's just a bunch of cardboard boxes with some terrible stickers added.

    I too do stop motions with bionicles and such and I must say that that was really nice. Despite animating at only 12fps you managed to make it look nice. Perhaps check out some of my own some time, that goes for anyone reading this.

    I was imensely impressed by the enviroment, but i thought the noises were way too much, yes you should have sound effects, but not for every movement

      I know this comment is really old, but in my opinion the rather exaggerated sound effects give this animation a serious indie vibe, which works for some people (like me).

      I liked the sound design because it made them really have a robot vibe, which almost makes the "I don't have a billion dollars" animation work more. As in it's good but obviously not Hollywood level.
