I ALSO found out there is consult dialogue that goes unused!!
Yusuke: Goro Akechi... I believe he may have been the greatest casualty of Shido's actions...
Makoto: Was there no other way?
Ann: We'll avenge him when we take Shido down. Come on, we have the letters now-let's do this!
twitter.com/ScrambledFaz/status/1680653370497933313?s=20
Haru was always so kind to akechi considering everything 🥺
I wonder if Yusuke feels extra sympathetic because he was also used by his father for personal gain.
Maybe...
It's ironic cause Yusuke have more potential to be closer to Akechi and understand him better than Ren does
@@alexandersmith4731 They talk a lot in Thieves Den but it's non-canon. I wish they let Akechi interact with the other Thieves more.
@@jackflynn412yesn't
The thieves den is called "My palace" in the Japanese version
So yeah
It's just Joker's cognitive of his friends and loved ones
Yusuke says that he sympathizes with Akechi and that if he didn't hadn't met the PT he'd have turnt out like Akechi. He's one of the thew on the team who are more open to being friends with him, akechi and yusuke also have allot of conversations in the thieves den, and in mementos, though allot of the mementos ones were cut.
It's a shame that yusuke and akechi don't really talk in 3rd semester because out of all of them Yusuke is the one who can relate to him the most and yusuke also understands him really well. I wish they talked more cause their friendship is something we missed out on!!
I'm not crying, you're crying. These should've been included in the game. Teleporting the team to the safe room near the doors to the Treasure would've made that work.
I mean we already had their text conversation after we secured the palace. To some people especially his haters, it might be overkill in hammering down Akechi's sacrifice.
@@thomasfairburn5254 But there's nothing stopping you from ignoring the conversations, if you dislike them, on all subsequent playthroughs. I think the varying responses helps us gain insight into how the different Thieves reacted to his true self in a way you otherwise don't get any closure for during the original game. I also really appreciate they actually had door interaction dialogue as well. It's otherwise like Joker is just supposed to turn and run, whereas of almost everyone he was probably the most likely to try and change anything and refuse to give up.
The Thieves' ability to empathize with Akechi just demonstrates how emotionally mature and caring they are- boiling things down to "good" or "bad" always leads to a very narrow minded view of the world and the fact that these kids don't fall into that makes my fondness for them grow that much more. One of my favorite examples of Haru's strength is the fact that she is able to put herself in Akechi's shoes despite what he did to her father and sympathize with him; some people never reach that level of compassion and she's still just a teenager. Her lines in the engine room were a big defining moment of her character for me. This extra dialogue adds just that much more for her and all of the Thieves.
These kids (and Akechi ;-;) will never stop sucker punching my feelings :')
Thanks for all that you do, Faz!
this is kind of ironic lol. boiling things down to good or bad doesn’t mean you aren’t any more or less emotionally mature or caring in fact i’d argue it’s the opposite. also when it comes to things like this there is nuance sure but there should be no grey areas in the world
Funny thing is they do boil it down to good and bad in strikers
I wish these were included in the original game. Would have made the bond with Akechi stronger.
People who boil Akechi down to just being a killer with daddy issues really need to look past the surface level... and y'know, do his confidant? He was a bastard son to a sex worker who struggled to take care of him until she took her own life. He ended up going from foster home to foster home in a country where bastard children are treated like dogshit and then picked by a manipulative false god as a plaything and given powers. Akechi was a broken child who was desperate for revenge, so he made his stupid plan and approached Shido, who then turned him into a hitman. Akechi carried out his orders and did take lives and cause breakdowns, but it is shown how hostile Shido treats him many times in the late game, threatening him and talking about what happens to people who cross him. In addition, the SIU director says that the plan to kill Joker was not Akechi's idea, as it was too cruel for him. He went with it, and it was fucked up, but in the engine room, he eventually laments how he and Joker didn't meet sooner and is willing to sacrifice himself so the PT can change Shido's heart.
Like... you don't have to forgive what Akechi did to acknowledge he IS a victim, much like the PTs. Even Ann nearly killed Kamoshida. And in Royal, he turns himself in, is outraged when he's let free, and is willing to trade his own freedom in Maruki's reality for the likelihood that he may truly die if it means letting the true reality live on. He's not just some laughing murderer with no layers. :u
True words has been said here. I hate people always Sees Akechis story completely wrong. Like it's ok not to like him but not liking him while not getting his story is stupid.
@@drew2031 Also they say it like a shit ton of action heroes and antiheroes haven't killed in the past or have had tragic backstories and redemption arcs. And they are adults. Akechi's still a teen.
@@Dorked like look at Sephiroth. He is loved by everyone but he burned an entire village.
Oh wow, hey Dorked, I watch your deltarune videos. Also, I completely agree with you about Akechi, he was a victim too. 🥺
Also Akechi is silently helping Ren's freedom, so some of adult bastard with authority wouldn't dare to cross a finger on Ren and his friend (source : unused dialogue where Akechi is still alive)
I wonder if this means Shido's palace was going to be a little longer. At the very least it means you were probably expected to manually go to the treasure room instead of being teleported there after the engine room. In vanilla P5, the teleportation caused the map right outside the engine room to show as not being explored yet, and I thought that was strange until they fixed it in Royal.
I really wish this was apart of the game. The team care enough for him that they wish to fulfill his request despite everything.
Hopefully tactica will give us more
Why is there so much unused content in this game, THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN USED😭
I agree so much!
The fact that it is translated points towards that it might have been a mistake in development. JP got the game first, so why translate what isn't supposed to be seen? Perhaps it was intended to be seen but there was no legitimate way to reach that bit of dialogue and they didn't notice during testing. I wonder if this dialogue is also in the original P5 code.
They kept the Haru and Futaba really not wanting to work with him dialogue, and saying they were upset but removed this
Idk how I feel about it.
empathizing with a person and wanting to be around them are two different things.
Same... Between them, and some of Ryuji's and Morgana's dialogue being pretty aggressive/hateful towards him (in Third Sem), it feels like the PTs as a whole (bar Joker) don't give a damn about what Akechi did in the end.
Even him thanking them for Shido gets shot down instantly with a "we didn't do it for *you*"
Knowing that they *did* in fact do it partly for him... But that part got cut out in favor of antagonizing him, it just stings.
He did screwed up stuff, but tossing the sympathetic nuance out is just ouch. Makes the shift in attitude from the Engine Room to Third Sem kinda jarring.
@@izzy1356 I think it's a little easier to be sympathetic to someone after they've died, though, understanding why they are the way they are and all that.
Even so, them acting all friendly and forgiving to the guy who literally murdered two of the groups parents and tried to kill Joker wouldn't really make sense.
Haru has such a good heart!
Definitely wished they put this in the game, they put Akechis death to the side so fast not even mentioning him later on :/
I read this comment with Adachi’s voice.
Can we PLEASE return Akechi and continue his story??
Give us an Akechi spin off sequel already ATLUS!
@@kenm.a.d.7196 He is DLC in P5T along with Kasumi.
What story?
His story has ended in royal with satisfying conclusion.
I mean don't get me wrong I want more of akechi but idk how could they pull out it..maybe in Persona 5 arena? that would be cool especially if you could switch between loki and Robin hood
@@sorachi8788he disappeared at the end of royal, not satisfying at all! His last words were "it's cramped in here" there was no acknowledgment of what happened to him. They didnt stick the landing in the true ending imo for his character
@@daelynnmoore8232 he disappeared with his own will because he doesn't want to live in a false reality, who is that not satisfying? After you escape the last palace The Phantom Theives acknowledge what happened to akechi wdym??
Also the true ending is a lot better than akechi just die in Shido's palace or Joker forcing him into a false reality against his will.
God this hurts so much… I still can’t get over his death… I think I understand in a sense as to why they didn’t add this in the game, it might’ve been because they thought that players would already be too distraught over it, so to save everyone playing the heartache, they removed it, that’s what I think at least
I'm happy that Futaba chimed in because I don't think it was ever firmly established who was it that killed her mom.
He's responsible for all the psychotic breaks, so he's the only one who could have done it.
But it was weird she never talks about how he ruined her life. At worst she won't play cards with him, lol
Goddam it, why didn't they use this?! This would have been great! And Ryuji is right, Akechi was a victim too.
Regardless he killed so many people so him dying was for the best
@@nxetr*He got killed by a Mirror 💀💀*
@@nxetrit's obvious by the true ending he didn't die bruh
@@nxetr in no way is it better for akechi to be dead 💀. Akechi is a victim!! Akechi was put into foster care wich is HORRIBLE, he never found a home that wanted him and was passed around, he grew up feeling unwanted and lonley. When he met Shido he was 15!! He was a child!! When akechi went to shido he never thought he'd become an assassin, Shido said himself he's the one who helped akechi unlock the full potential of his power, none of the merder or mental shutdowns were ever Akechi's ideas, all Shidos. Also Akechi was groomed by Shido from the age of 15!! Shido literally says he knew all akechi wanted was praise and he used that against him. Akechi isn't better of dead cause he killed people, like the game tells you, akechi was a victim, he deserved better.
I hate how they cut so much Akechi content!! Their would be way less akechi hate if they kept in the things like this. Like ryuji said Akechi was a victim, akechi was abandoned and never felt loved then from 15 he was groomed by shido. All it would have taken for his life to have turnt out differently would have been for someone to have shown the slightest Intrest in him when he was younger.
That’s so weird that they didn’t use it it would make his death even more impactful
Wow, this stuff feels like it needs to be in the game.. in fact, I think there should have been more dedicated dialogue to discuss these points
i hate how the intermission after the duel between him and joker and the intermission after saes palace made me love him just for him to die to his cognitive self
Akechi haters are so in the mud. The group cares about him. The game cares about him. Joker cares about him so much that Maruki literally rewrites reality so they can be together. And even at the end, Joker still worries about him. Really hope we get closure on their relationship in the upcoming DLC. Or maybe even that Akechi spinoff we deserve
Could you make a video with all the hideouts with no HUD? Specially the third semester one, that one looks so sick
Hi Faz. Can you check whether we can skip the 2 challenges in Sae's palace (dark room and solo battles) if we can accumulate enough coins with the playable slot machines? What if the required coins unlock the treasure is hacked? Thanks you.
They should've made a scene where the news reporting goro akechi's death well if they ever found the corpses. Now comes another question if the demons nuke akechi to death then will the corpses gone to ashes?
The P5R guide book confirms that Akechi’s fate depends on the player finishing his confidant. Also, I know Makoto and Haru are they’re school uniforms, but I’m pretty sure tactica takes place after strikers and we know Akechi and Sumi will be coming to the game.
@@Deertective_ Strikers is only a continuation of vanilla P5, not Royal. Sumire being DLC means she’s either a non-canon guest character or Tactica is a continuation of Royal, not Strikers.
@@Hyperslayer_X Strikers and Royal were developed at the same time, that’s why Strikers doesn’t have any references to Royal and it uses the old portraits. That doesn’t mean they’re not cannon, I don’t get why everyone assumes that.
@@Deertective_ Didn’t say it wasn’t canon, I said it takes place after vanilla P5 and not Royal. Like a separate timeline, so to speak.
@@Hyperslayer_X Ok but, they never confirmed that it’s a separate timeline, and I don’t see any reason it has to be. They could easily just have them take place in the same timeline and it wouldn’t change a thing.
im replaying royal again i named Joker Akechi Goro and plan to name the phantom thief's Akechi's ass for the memes but rip Akechi o7
I thought this wasn't voiced!
I LOVE AKEKO!!!
Pretty interesting
MOD POWEEERR
akechi based.
Most of it was used
YOOO
probably cut because sympathising with a murder is pretty
well uhh i dont think i gotta explain
He was a groomed murderer that was made by Shido, not hard at all to sympathised, lots of irl child soldiers are like that
You can sympathize and pity him but uhh yeah, I imagine it’d be kind of awkward, especially since Futaba and Haru especially got the worst of it from his actions
@@elae4051 wish the Phantom Thieves have an actual clashing opinions on one another
@@alexandersmith4731 maybe the fighting game that's apparently still happening
@@alexandersmith4731 Nigga, you don't say the shit the Phantom Thieves just said about the dude who killed your parent and threw you in years lasting trauma. This shit is not good writing. It's not because an external viewpoint that doesn't feel involved says that that the characters can do it. It's bullshit.
I am glad this was cut. Akechi doesn't deserve any sympathy. He had his chance and blew it.
Lol bad opinion akechi is trickster chosen by yaldabaoth to led humans to ruin and to rival joker he's a victim of both shido and yaldabaoth
@@RareT888 He's a murderer, not a victim. Your opinion is bad.
