“you taste like birthday, you look like new year” is one of my most favorite song lyrics of all time. it’s such a beautiful and clear and sweet comparison that’s so abstract, but you know EXACTLY what she means. ugh. genius.
She's written a lot of amazing songs but this one is in another stratosphere. What a fantastic talent! The music industry may not realize this (and judging by a lot of what they peddle they don't) but it's giving exposure to artists like her that make what they do valid.
Oh! Ahhh as moving as most of her songs, I can only buy her music to repay her for the gift of her melodic poetry and how it affects my soul so deeply over the past15 years ❤
