He's amazing! You should hear the solo on j'attendrai from one of the "live from vienne" shows. You can really feel that he is improvising. I love stochelo as well but he seem, as i see it, to play some simiular solos on the same tunes. But i like all of them. Dorado, Romane, Bireli, Angelo. You name them!
@zeusody2000 Django was ahead the others guys in term of music, not only with guitar. he's playing was very inovative in his time. Then the closer to him now is Bireli, who plays MODERN STLYLE gypsy music, as Django did. The others are imitators, they play very well, but their music is totally outdated. Django doesn't need to be imitated; that's just impossible.
Great fun!!! Great job!!!! I love it!!!! Please come watch my vocal version of "Them There Eyes" too, ok? Mine is fun too ;) Much love from New York, Diane
no its just that the guitar hes using is very old lol.the sound is a bit off as well as the intonation im geussing but dont worrie on any other guitar dorado is a god of guitar lol
It's a great pity that the sound is down so much from Tchavolo's guitar as he's a superb player (was his mike working?), but his cousin Dorado never fails to impress and his solo gives Bireli some act to follow!
Is it me or are dorados guitar allways a bit out of tune? And I would have liked dorado ro play a bit less noisy. He can be on of the most melodic players and when he do i like him very much.
Where's the damn melody line? It's wonderful that you can play 64th notes at warp 5, but didn't this song have a melody line when it was originally composed? What happened to it?

This is absolutely my favourite at the moment.. :D Stochelo's solo is awesome...

That is by far my favorite song played in live from vienne. Tchavolo and Stochelo have killer solos
solos from stochelo AND bireli are both amazing and show skill and experience!! especially in this video!

These incredible guys teach an awesome lesson in Manouche. Never have seen a better one (even though there might be one...).
Galenge wella an gau ziro GEG bravo morschale
this is gypsy swing heaven...
I'm in awe of Tchavolo's picking hand. That guy plays hard and heavy but still sounds great.
The Growl on Dorado's guitar :^0 !
bravo!
wowee zowee!
you must hear his solo on j'attendrai. Its just fantastic.
Man they are all legends,..but Dorado Shmitt's approach....:))))
1:23 BIRELI digests
samson and tchavolo the best
Awesome ! Is it possible to get a video of his Made In France, can't find it on tube.
@altrogeruvah DVD Bireli Lagrene & friends Live in Vienne 2002
@muladar10 actually it's Django Reinhardt !
It's you!
May I ask if these are nylon strings?
Can someone tell ,me what the two first chords are when the whole band kicks in?
i agree! it seems that his strings guitar are too low. But he's a great player
@karch139 I prefer Angelo Debarre and Stochelo Rosenberg , but Bireli is truely a genius
Lagrene

no nylon
Stochelo is a kickass musician! Tchavolo and dorado are more manouche than bireli, who is too technical!
