You got me standing today my friend. This is a great exercise for me (I have MS-I am always so stiff!-but this loosened me up!)
I did the best I can for a guy in a wheelchair. I firmlybelieve you will get me out and walking with these awesome exercises!
Thank you very much Matt- you were the highlight of my day, and I LOVE this Horse stance. Peace Bro!! 😀

    Good morning Matt,
I love your take on the horse stance because God Forbid, you make it fun and interesting. I have been doing the horse stance for about 2 months and I have not been straining just trying to have fun. Then I do Hindu Squats and then the squeeze the back of your upper leg while walking feels great. I also try to do both during the day while at work. When I telecommute, no one is the wiser :)

A slow corkscrewing motion to open up the body. Genius! Why, because it's easy. Thanks!

🎉AWESOME! Thank you! You have inspired me! I have lost a lot of mobility and trying to get back into it. You made me realize I know the forms I know the art instead of being a slave to form gotta tough it out do it this way. I need to get back to play having fun move as I feel! Allow it to just come forth joyfully moving at will. Just as I learned that lifting weights people get trapped doing a set number of repetitions they forget the purpose of "body building" and no longer listen to their body but to the number of sets and reps. The idea is to fatigue the muscle so it will grow. But if you are focused on numbers you will lower the weight to complete the number adjusting your body to accommodate the number rather than accommodating the body! The same can happen in gung fu; forcing things is never productive. When the pain reaches a certain threshold you will mentally quit. As you get older the energy to train becomes a precious commodity and its becomes more difficult to desire a painful spartan pursuit but when you let it become play again the energy to continue is boundless because you are having fun!

I don't know why your video popped up in my recommends but I loved it! I figured a long time ago that 'cheating' is a better way of getting results than trying and failing at being perfect the first time around. However, the rhythmic turning and breathing is genius! I tried it and it really does work and it really does put me in a calmer, more focused, and yeah, sweeter :) mood.

Great explanation and demo! I 100% agree with this as no workout or self-defense practical application is static. I've seen you in various wrestling videos and catch wrestling stuff do you have anything specifically on toe holds or step over toe holds Matt ?

Hey Matt! In a workout without any equipment, not even a pullup bar, do you have any suggestions to strengthen or at least mantain muscle in the lats? Thanks!!

👍me like. Only one question, does your knees have to point in the same direction as your toes or is there a bit of give in the ligaments, tendons etc? Because the knee is a hinge type joint.

    • @mattfureysays7710

Knee ideally tracks in line with big toe.
